The two siblings returned to the Dream Capital Residence, and just as Jiang Shuya had predicted, Lin Moxiao had not come back.
Jiang Shuhuai hadn't slept for a day and a night. He played games for a while and then fell fast asleep. His room was still open, and he remained vigilant. Perhaps this big boy cared a lot about his sister's reputation.
Three years ago, he witnessed his sister doing things that their parents could not accept in order to marry Huang Minghao. He also witnessed his mother, Li Dalan, being so angry that she didn't sleep for days and nights. As a result, after his sister became pregnant, she went to the hospital alone. Her brother-in-law was indifferent to her. On the day his sister gave birth, she was in excruciating pain late at night, struggling on the edge of life and death. It was very dangerous because his sister had a history of severe anemia, and the baby almost couldn't be saved. Huang Minghao did not appear from beginning to end, only arriving a week after the baby was born.
The boy witnessed all of this. He stayed with his sister in the hospital room the whole time. After she was discharged, she was weak, and he carried her to and from the car. He never wanted to see his sister have a child with another man again. Because of that experience, he felt lingering fear and sympathy for his sister.
However, Lin Moxiao returned late at night. He quietly entered Jiang Shuya's room with a pillow in his arms, lay down beside her, and gently hugged her from behind. She nestled into his arms in response, and the two of them, smelling each other's familiar scents, drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Jiang Shuhuai stared intently at the two people sleeping in the bed.
Lin Moxiao opened his eyes and was startled to see an angry young man standing in front of him, staring at him with intense rage.
Lin Moxiao made a vague gesture, indicating that he should not wake Jiang Shuya in his arms. He quietly got out of bed and walked out as if nothing had happened.
Jiang Shuhuai was so angry and frustrated that he blamed himself for being careless last night. He couldn't stay awake any longer and fell asleep.
"You better not get my sister pregnant. If I find out, I'll fight you to the death."
Lin Moxiao slept very well last night and was in an exceptionally relaxed mood; he looked completely at ease.
"Don't worry, she won't get pregnant. I don't plan to have children for the time being. I've talked to her about this, and if she never wants to have any more children, I won't force her."
Jiang Shuhuai nodded silently; "Okay, I hope you keep your word."
"What are you talking about?" Jiang Shuya walked out, scratching her messy hair.
Lin Moxiao saw the tenderness in her eyes and ruffled her hair; "What would you like for breakfast? I'll make it for you."
She blinked her clear eyes, and without hesitation, said:
"I want to eat that egg pancake; it's soft and smells delicious."
"Okay, you wait here, I'll do it." He kissed her on the forehead and turned to go to the kitchen.
Jiang Shuhuai, who had been standing to the side, flew back to his room like a firefly.
In the afternoon, Jiang Shuya and her younger brother went to the hospital to visit Huang Minghao's grandfather. The moment they walked out of the ward, Jiang Shuya burst into tears. For the first time, she felt powerless. Clearly, Huang Minghao had not convinced his aunt. Everyone in the family supported the surgery for the old man, and no one listened to Huang Minghao's words.
Thinking back to her grandfather's death in her previous life due to an accident during surgery because he did not receive conservative treatment, and how the Huang family members shirked responsibility afterward, what Jiang Shuya found even more unacceptable was that while her grandfather was lying in the mourning hall, Huang Minghao was out drinking heavily with a group of his childhood friends.
"Sister, that family doesn't listen to a word you say. Besides, the doctor said that as long as Grandpa has this surgery, he'll recover quickly and live for another ten or eight years without any problem. Don't be so sad."
Jiang Shuya looked back at the ward building and sighed deeply:
"It turns out I really can't control everyone's fate. Such a good person is about to leave, and I can't do anything about it."

The two sisters came to Xixia Village again to pack their things. At this time, everyone was busy moving. However, some people were still observing. Zhang Xiaohui was also moving. A moving company vehicle was parked in front of her house.
Upon seeing Jiang Shuya, Zhang Xiaohui's face lit up with a bright smile;
"Xiaoya, I rented an apartment in Lianhua New Town in Hexi these past few days. It's cheaper there. Do you want to move there too? I heard Sun Qi moved there too. We won't be able to get a new house for another two years. Most people in our village have moved there temporarily."
Jiang Shuya agreed and looked at her younger brother; "Are you going to live there? I'll rent you an apartment."
"I'm fine with it, I'll go wherever you go."
Jiang Shuya rolled her eyes at him:
"I'm your older sister, I can't take care of you forever. Even if you get a girlfriend, will you still take me with you? Aren't you afraid of being misunderstood?"
Jiang Shuhuai scoffed; "That's many years from now. In short, I don't trust you. Think of me however you want."
Jiang Shuya sighed helplessly, and then Zhang Xiaohui said again;
"Let me tell you, the divorce rate in our Xixia Village is extremely high. It's all for personal gain. Look at the Luo family next door; the couple moved, but they never actually lived together. Some people seem harmonious on the surface, but when it comes down to it, their true colors are revealed. Like the Jin family, the man is over fifty, but after getting the money, he immediately found a college student in his twenties. Isn't that bizarre?"
Jiang Shuya sneered. The demolition stories in Xixia Village were endless, and she could talk about them for two days and two nights without finishing. The villagers, who were originally very simple farmers, became different after the demolition test. Overnight, their restless and uneasy hearts became arrogant.
Standing in the Huang family's courtyard, Jiang Shuya sat on the sofa that had been moved out from outside, holding Tangtang in her arms. Li Yuxiang and Huang Guohua were moving things in and out, while Jiang Shuhuai helped Jiang Shuya pack her things and carried them in his hands.
