In the hospital, one visitor after another came to see him. A week had passed, but the person lying in bed still showed no reaction. Lin Moxiao finally fell asleep by the bedside, exhausted. He hadn't slept or eaten for a week. Fortunately, Wang Ziliang forced him to drink some nutritional fluids, but he still stayed by Jiang Shuya's bedside and refused to leave.
On this day, Sun Qi arrived. His arm was in a sling, and he stood at the door of the ward with tears in his eyes, silently watching the person on the bed. His eyes were red, and his Adam's apple bobbed up and down. He was deeply annoyed that he was powerless to help her.
While in a deep sleep, Jiang Shuya had a long dream in which she went back to her past life and witnessed a hopeless fate. Her soul floated freely in the sky, as light as a feather.
Suddenly, thunder roared, and her soul was instantly absorbed by the time machine. She was plunged into an icy abyss, imprisoned by a powerful force in a dark cave—a bottomless abyss, utterly devoid of light. Alone, she lay dying, screaming, "Save me! Save me! Don't lock me up here! Let me out! Let me out!"
She frantically searched for direction, screaming in terror, like a ghost trying to find a way to possess someone. Suddenly, she saw a large hand reaching out to her, "Come with me, I'll take you away."
She instantly transformed into a wisp of green smoke, attaching herself to his palm. His large hand hurriedly grasped her tightly, but she was too light. Afraid that he wouldn't hold on firmly enough and would fall from his palm, she wrapped herself tightly around his joint, trying to squeeze into the gap between his joints and hide.
Lin Moxiao was fast asleep, leaning against her bedside. Feeling a dull ache in his palm, he suddenly woke with a start, his weariness vanishing instantly. He realized that Jiang Shuya had somehow managed to grip his hand tightly, digging her nails into his palm. Startled, Lin Moxiao looked up...
"Xiaoya, Xiaoya, are you awake? Look at me!"
Overjoyed, he quickly rang the bell to summon a doctor. Moments later, the doctor arrived, and several doctors examined her. One of the older doctors smiled and nodded.
"That's a good sign. She's regained consciousness, her heartbeat and nervous system have recovered, and she should wake up soon so we can continue her treatment as planned."
After speaking, the doctor asked Lin Moxiao in a questioning voice,
"You're her husband, right? It's thanks to your persistence that she was moved and developed a strong will to live. You're a good husband, well done, young man."
The doctor gave him an approving look, then left with a smile and several other doctors.
As expected, Jiang Shuya woke up in the afternoon. She opened her eyes and vaguely saw a long-lost figure. He was holding her hand tightly, looking both amused and exasperated, with tears in his eyes. He smiled warmly at her as if they were reunited after a long separation.
He was so excited that he was incoherent.
"Xiaoya, I knew you would wake up. I knew you wouldn't abandon me. I knew you would come looking for me."
She stared blankly at the man she had been searching for in her past life. His face looked much more haggard, and he seemed to have lost weight. Only his unfathomable eyes were focused on her. Unbeknownst to her, he had grown stubble on his chin, which was hard and stung her hand when it touched it.
Jiang Shuya slowly opened her mouth, "Have I slept for a long time?"
Lin Moxiao gently stroked her cheek with his gaze.
"Not long after, you slept a little longer than usual, and I couldn't wake you no matter how I called you. Thankfully, you finally woke up. You must have missed me, right?"
He had a mischievous grin on his face, but his eyes were filled with tenderness.
"I want to ask you a question," she asked.
"What's the problem? Tell me." Lin Moxiao pressed his face close to her ear.
"Are you still willing to marry me?"
Lin Moxiao's eyes widened, her face filled with disbelief, and she was overjoyed with excitement.
"Of course, you are the one I've been looking for all my life. I love you, I will always love you, and my love will never change..." He took her hand and kissed it repeatedly.
Then, as if by magic, he took out a small box from his pocket, took out a diamond ring from it, gently lifted her hand, and softly placed the diamond ring on her ring finger.
"You know what? The moment I first saw you, I knew that I had found the best love."
Lin Moxiao stroked her hand and stared intently into her eyes.
"Look, isn't it pretty? Wear it, and you'll be my wife from now on. No more cheating."
Two streams of tears slid down her cheeks. Jiang Shuya carefully examined the hand with the ring on it, staring at it for a long time, her face filled with a radiant smile.
"Is that all?" she asked.
Lin Moxiao looked at him suspiciously, pondered for a few seconds, then understood and leaned down to kiss her forehead.
He didn't dare to use too much force, gently kissing her cheeks, eyes, nose, and lips.
The whole kiss was filled with deep love. He kissed away the tears in the corners of her eyes, and the two of them were pressed together for the first time in a long time.
"Are you hungry? What would you like to eat?" he asked with concern.
"I want to eat everything, I'm so hungry." She suddenly tried to sit up, but found that her vision blurred, her head was dizzy, and the world was spinning uncontrollably.
Lin Moxiao quickly stopped her, "Don't move, you can't get out of bed yet. I'll go ask the doctor what you can eat during your recovery period. Wait for me, I'll be right there."
Not long after Lin Moxiao left, Jiang Shuhuai arrived, looking at his sister with eyes full of guilt.
