As Jiang Shuya pushed her cart, she recalled Wang Hongjuan and Wang Xi, who had also faked a divorce for the sake of housing. Later, they used a large sum of demolition compensation to buy several houses around Jinling City as a follow-up investment. At first, they really made a fortune and were riding high for those years.
Although the couple spent their days thinking about speculation and taking shortcuts, they were reluctant to enjoy life. They focused all their energy on real estate speculation, saving every penny. They didn't even buy necessities like cars, always insisting that they were consumables and there was no need to spend money on them. In Jiang Shuya's memory, the couple spent their days carrying posters of newly developed properties, taking buses and squeezing through crowds to look at properties.
However, people are inherently greedy. When a large sum of money flows into their pockets, they become bolder and no longer satisfied with the number of houses they own.
Their approach became even more risky, as they increased their purchases of secondhand homes by multiple times and secured various loans, including commercial bank loans, hoping for prices to rise steadily. However, not long after, an epidemic swept across the country, causing housing prices to plummet and fall further and further, with no upward trend for several years. The couple spent their days in tears and sighs.
In this life, Jiang Shuya also clearly sensed that the prices of properties in Hexi were rising steadily, making it a great time to speculate on real estate.
"Honey, how much did you pay for the house in Mengdu, Hexi?"
Lin Moxiao was opening the back door, his expression calm:
"Around 40,000, the total transaction amount is around 8 million."
Jiang Shuya paused for a moment, then said, "That's right, that's the price of houses in Hexi right now. Our house should be around 80,000 at most."
Lin Moxiao was busy putting away the stroller and didn't pay attention to Tangtang's mutterings. Tangtang's eyes were constantly watching the new uncle's every move.
Back home, Jiang Shuya played house with Tangtang in the living room. The mother and daughter were having a great time, and their laughter reached Lin Moxiao's ears. He was busy making dinner in the kitchen and would occasionally peek out to observe them.
"Tangtang, let's play hide-and-seek. I'll hide first, and you find me, okay?" Jiang Shuya turned Tangtang away from her, then backed up and hid behind the sofa. Tangtang turned around, giggling and showing her little white teeth, and circled the sofa, looking for her mother.
Perhaps it's because children have a very sensitive sense of taste; she could smell the familiar scent on her mother. Jiang Shuya followed the sofa and started circling around. After a couple of laps, Tangtang's interest grew. Jiang Shuya crouched behind her and moved further back. Gradually, she moved to the edge of the kitchen, where Lin Moxiao pulled her into his arms. "Wife, quickly try hiding behind me."
The two looked into each other's eyes, and Jiang Shuya stared at him blankly.
"What, is there something on my face?" Lin Moxiao touched his face and found nothing.
Jiang Shuya's face suddenly flushed, and she hurriedly shook her head. Lin Moxiao noticed her embarrassment.
"Am I handsome?"
She was speechless for a moment, but Lin Moxiao had already pulled her into his arms, lowered his head to kiss her lips, and cupped her face for a deep kiss.
At this moment, Tangtang stepped forward and hugged Jiang Shuya's leg, pushed Lin Moxiao away with a look of rejection, and raised her little face to glare fiercely at the man who kissed her mother.
The two were extremely embarrassed. Jiang Shuya picked up Tangtang and gently pinched her nose.
"You clever little devil, you came just in time, hehe."
Lin Moxiao smiled as she entered the kitchen and quickly prepared a meal for them. During the meal, Jiang Shuya smiled as she fed Tangtang. The mother and daughter ate their food happily, getting along exceptionally well.
"Honey, I'll be busy in the study until late. You take Tangtang to sleep first, I'll come over to keep you company later."
He tidied the table and went into the study.
Soon it was bedtime, and Jiang Shuya and Tangtang took a hot bath together in the bathtub. The little pink dumpling was soft and cute, soaking in the water, splashing water with her little hands, and swimming happily with her calves, showing no resistance to this unfamiliar place.
After taking a shower and changing her clothes, Jiang Shuya made her a cup of hot milk, and Tangtang quickly fell asleep.
Jiang Shuya hesitated. She felt that the bed might not be big enough for three people. If she put Tangtang in the middle, she would definitely catch a cold. But if she put her on the side, she was afraid that she would fall off in the middle of the night. She was very hesitant, so she went to the guest room, took a look, and decided to discuss it with him.
Upon entering the study, Lin Moxiao was engrossed in working on documents, his expression serious and focused, completely unaware that Jiang Shuya was beside him.
She gently wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and whispered, "Honey, why don't you sleep in the guest room tonight? I'm worried Tangtang might disturb your sleep."
Sensing a faint, elegant fragrance emanating from her, Lin Moxiao, completely oblivious to what Jiang Shuya was saying, took a deep breath of the scent emanating from her neck. "Okay, you should get some rest."
To her surprise, he readily agreed. Jiang Shuya gently kissed him on the cheek, smiled, and left.
Back in bed, Jiang Shuya covered Tangtang with the blanket, moved her closer to herself, and then fell asleep contentedly.
In the middle of the night, after washing up, Lin Moxiao naturally went to the master bedroom. Seeing the sleeping positions of the mother and daughter, he looked helpless. Tangtang had a lot of space, while his wife had very little space. But he still gently lifted the quilt, squeezed next to Jiang Shuya, lifted her up, and moved her closer to his arms. He then moved a little further in and fell asleep in his arms.
When Jiang Shuya woke up the next day, she realized that she had been sleeping on top of him the whole time. She felt a little guilty. She remembered that she had talked to him the night before and asked him to sleep in the guest room. How did she end up squeezing in with him again?
