Chapter 43 Drinking

Jiang Shuya was stunned for a moment, then thought about it curiously. Did Wang Tingting really have her eye on Sun Qi? Or was she just trying to introduce a boyfriend to her colleague in a roundabout way? She found it hard to believe that she could actually bring together a perfect couple.

After dinner, the two browsed several trendy brands in the mall, learning about the origins of some of their products. Some styles were indeed imported directly from Dongdaemun, South Korea, where trendy styles are more appealing to Eastern women's aesthetics. These brands are updated and iterated the fastest, staying at the forefront of fashion. They appear frequently in TV dramas and gain popularity after being featured in hit shows.

After saying goodbye to Wang Tingting, I went to a baby store and bought some baby supplies, snacks, teething biscuits, diapers, and other items before riding my bike home.

Now, although I have a goal in mind, my savings are just a drop in the bucket. I can't raise the money for the goods, so everything is just wishful thinking. The website I've built is just an empty shell.

When I got home, my mother-in-law wasn't there. She must have taken me to my aunt's house by now. Before I knew it, I was upstairs. There was a constant snoring in the bedroom. I put down my clothes and leaned back on the sofa, racking my brains. Finally, I came up with a solution. I picked up my phone and asked Wang Tingting if I could pay in installments. I could pay 100,000 yuan in three installments, quarterly, and then settle the next quarter's payment after receiving the remaining balance.

Wang Tingting quickly replied that she did not have the authority to do so unless an exception was made through higher-ups, but the chances were slim.

Then she thought of placing orders, which would be like getting something for nothing. Given her relationship with Wang Tingting, she didn't think she needed to take such a big risk. As a small manager, her power was ultimately limited. Then she thought of order boosting, which was a compromise, but that didn't work either, as it would require a lot of upfront investment. Thinking about all this, she wondered if she had been too impulsive, given her limited resources.

Suddenly, her tense nerves started to ache. Hesitating, she saw a man emerge from the bedroom—her husband, whose days and nights were completely reversed. He was wearing the light blue shirt and khaki cropped trousers she had bought for him, and the white sneakers she had bought him last year, which he had always kept very clean in the shoe cabinet and had found himself.

The whole outfit looked youthful, sunny, casual, and comfortable, but there was no sign of satisfaction on his face.

Jiang Shuya, who was sitting on the sofa in a daze, only glanced at it and then stopped asking about the size. She rubbed her eyes, leaned back, and closed her eyes to rest.

Unexpectedly, the man walked over and grabbed her wrist: "Are you sleepy? Let's go to the bedroom and sleep a little longer." At this moment, Jiang Shuya knew what he was going to do. In a daze, she broke free from his approaching body, turned around, and took a few steps back, saying: "It's almost time, let's go! Don't keep them waiting." After saying that, she started to go downstairs.

Huang Minghao was stunned and couldn't believe it. When he woke up, he saw two shopping bags on the bedside table. He opened them and knew that they were clothes she had just bought for him. He put them on without hesitation. When he came out, he saw her leaning back on the sofa with her head up. She was very quiet. She was wearing a light blue fitted pleated dress, her hair was draped behind her ears, and her fair skin and wrists were like solidified cream. She looked like a sleeping fairy, which attracted him and made him want to get closer.

To his utter surprise, she kept him at arm's length, unwilling to get close to him. She had even bought him clothes and shoes—wasn't that blatant flattery? Yesterday, when he gave the money for Tangtang's formula to his mother, she didn't say a word, did she? She even went to the Wang family to inquire about work, which showed she took every word he said to heart! Huang Minghao went upstairs in a gloomy mood.

There were no other means of transportation at home, only the electric scooter she had ridden that morning. She rode it alone, with another person sitting on the back. She had to push the scooter again, preparing to head to Zhou Tou. After Huang Minghao came out and closed the door, Jiang Shuya asked, "Will you ride, or should I?"

She had already gone to "Lida Shopping Mall" and back in the morning and was obviously a little tired. She didn't want to ride her bike anymore and wanted to sit on the back.

“You ride, I’ll sit on the back.” He said, already sitting down. She felt helpless, sighed, and had no choice but to turn the key again, start the engine, and set off.

Along the way, they encountered acquaintances who curiously observed the couple. The woman wore a light blue, fitted dress, her ethereal beauty and flowing hair cascading down her back. The handsome man in the back seat remained expressionless, seemingly oblivious to the strange looks around them. However, the warm, delicate fragrance emanating from her made him feel relaxed and at ease, and his hands involuntarily wrapped around her slender waist.

Jiang Shuya frowned upon seeing his action, glanced down at the hands that were wrapped around her, their index fingers intertwined, felt a moment of tension, and seeing that he did not do anything rash, she remained silent.

This situation was completely unexpected. She had seen many youthful romances, newlywed couples, the man riding a bicycle, the woman sitting shyly on the back, her face beaming with happiness, sharing their future together. Why was everything different in her case? The main road ended, and they entered an alley, turning two corners. The two remained silent the entire way. Jiang Shuya didn't want to engage in insincere conversation with a man who didn't love her.

As you turn a corner into a small alley, the intersection is filled with all kinds of vehicles, and a rather impressive two-story building comes into view.

As soon as the two arrived, Liu Kai greeted them with a big smile. The two cousins, who hadn't seen each other for a long time, smiled at each other. Huang Minghao took the cigarette Liu Kai offered him, his face beaming with delight. He lit the cigarette with the tinder provided and took a deep drag.

At this moment, Auntie, who was in the crowd, bluntly scolded, "Haohao, why don't you ride your bike and take Xiaoya with you? Let her, a woman, ride a bike and take you."

Huang Minghao looked over and smiled: "Second Aunt, she likes riding a bike."

Jiang Shuya greeted the elders, went to the backyard, found Tangtang in her mother-in-law's arms, and reached out to take her. The little pink dumpling was unusually quiet today, clutching a teething stick and eating it with relish. Even in her mother's arms, she couldn't forget the delicious treat in her hand, and generously put the teething stick to her mother's lips, indicating that her mother should eat some too, muttering as if to say it was very tasty.

Through the backyard window, one could see a busy figure inside—it was Zhang Xiaohui. The backyard kitchen was large, with long rectangular tables on both sides laden with colorful dishes and snacks. The aroma wafted out from the kitchen doorway, igniting the appetites of those waiting outside.

Perhaps because I ate a bit too much at noon, I didn't feel hungry yet, so I took Tangtang to my grandparents' house next to the kitchen. As we passed an orange tree by the door, I heard voices coming from inside.
