Chapter 55 Meeting

“It’s not a matter of consideration, it’s a matter of returning the child. You can take the child with you, but I will not pay child support. Clarify these terms and conditions again, and when you come back, I will go with you to complete the formalities.” Huang Minghao’s tone was uncompromising, certain that she was just angry and dared not divorce him.

“If what you think is true, then I have no choice but to take legal action. The bride price should be returned to you, and that will be done. Not a penny less in child support for Tangtang.” Seeing how serious she was, Huang Minghao sensed something was wrong. He narrowed his eyes and scrutinized her, his eyes filled with provocation: “This is the first time I’ve discovered that you have such a sharp tongue. I really underestimated you. All that obedience you showed me before was just an act.”

Jiang Shuya was angered by his sudden provocation. She pushed him away forcefully and said angrily, "From now on, the Jiang Shuya of the past is dead. You and I are only bound by that marriage certificate, nothing else. From now on, we will go our separate ways." After saying that, she turned around and left.

Watching her departing figure, her long hair flowing in the wind, her skirt swaying, her figure light and graceful, she was like a fairy, a person who seemed both near and far, and from now on she would truly disappear from his world.

He never cherished her, never had any feelings for her, and never truly understood her. From his recklessness back then to his calm and composed departure today, he remained utterly unmoved.

At this moment, two lines of tears had unknowingly streamed down Jiang Shuya's face, glistening in her eyes. They trailed down her neck and forehead. She raised her hand to wipe her wet eyes, pursed her lips, took a breath, and stubbornly looked up at the sky. Whether in her past life or her rebirth, she had always cared about it. The beating of her heart was slowly eroded by reason. At this moment, she desperately needed to calm her emotions and find a quiet place to have a moment of peace.

After wandering around for a while, I finally arrived at the city center of Nanjing and found a popular bookstore. I selected a few books that I wanted to read and entered a colorful world.

In the Bijiang Hotel in the heart of Jinling, two men and two women sat in a small private room. Jiang Shuyue and Wang Ziliang on the right sized up the couple opposite them. The man, with a cold expression, leaned back in his chair, his eyes aloof and arrogant, exuding an irresistible charm. This man was Lin Moxiao, whom they hadn't seen in a long time. He was still the same as before, his emotions unchanged. The beautiful woman sitting next to him, dressed in Chanel, was fashionable and elegant, attracting Wang Ziliang's attention. He clicked his tongue inwardly, wondering how many girlfriends Lin Moxiao had had. Although curious, he was also used to it. He naturally understood that the top-tier handsome man sitting opposite him, talented and successful, would naturally attract the attention of many women.

Jiang Shuyue, sitting next to him, was different. She was certain that this woman was not the one she had secretly followed last night. In just a few short months, she had changed girlfriends so easily; she was such a fickle person. She couldn't help but sigh at how she had been so blinded by love back then, and how she had been secretly heartbroken for so long. It wasn't worth it for such a scumbag. Reason told her that she was glad she hadn't persisted to the end, but when he sat across from her and met his gaze, her heart still pounded wildly. The feeling of being moved made her uncomfortable, and she could only restrain herself from looking at him.

Calming himself down, he pretended to pick up his phone and casually sent Jiang Shuya a text message: "Are you there? I'm at the Bijiang Hotel, come over and join me."

Jiang Shuya heard the text message notification on her phone, glanced at it, slowly came back to her senses, and replied: "It's from the Bijiang Hotel in downtown Jinling?"

Jiang Shuyue said, "Yes, are you coming? I just arrived, and the food hasn't been served yet."

Jiang Shuya smiled knowingly. Her third sister knew she was a foodie. In the past, whenever there was something delicious, she would think of her first and share it with her. She subconsciously touched her slightly hungry stomach, feeling like she hadn't eaten anything since she woke up this morning. She quickly replied on her phone, "Coming right away, wait for me."

Jiang Shuyue was somewhat surprised, and a smile appeared on her face. In the past, she would either not reply to her messages or say she was too busy. Why did she agree so readily this time?

Sitting next to her, Wang Ziliang noticed her sudden expression of surprise and asked expectantly, "What's wrong? Why are you suddenly so happy?"

Jiang Shuting raised an eyebrow at him: "Since you're hosting today, I wouldn't mind if I brought someone!" Wang Ziliang smiled generously: "Go ahead, I don't mind how many people you bring."

Ever since he ate a free meal and got some benefits last time, he felt uneasy. Although he wasn't as successful as the other two classmates, he couldn't take advantage of his old classmates for no reason. Plus, with that awkward situation from last time, he couldn't stand idly by. He should step in to help them mediate. After all, they were old classmates and would see each other again eventually. Even if they couldn't be lovers, they couldn't let things get unpleasant. Wang Ziliang knew the nature of Lin Moxiao's work; she was always flying around and often had jet lag. He had tried to arrange a meeting several times but hadn't been able to. Although the wait was a bit long, at least they were able to get together today.

The dishes ordered were gradually brought to the table and arranged neatly. Wang Ziliang glanced at the time, politely asked the waiter for another set of tableware, and looked apologetically at the beautiful woman next to Lin Moxiao, indicating that he would wait a moment.

A moment later, a set of cutlery was added next to Jiang Shuyue. The waiter politely gestured for her to enjoy her meal before leaving. The beautiful woman seemed a little anxious and tugged at Lin Moxiao beside her, whispering, "Brother Xiao, you still have to accompany me to the jewelry store later. Will we make it in time? That place closes at 4 o'clock."

Lin Moxiao glanced at her, her expression somewhat inscrutable, then looked at Jiang Shuyue and asked, "What time is your friend about to arrive?"

Jiang Shuyue raised an eyebrow, picked up her phone, and said softly, "I'll ask Xiaoya."

"Who? You just said Jiang Shuya is coming." Wang Ziliang, who was drinking water nearby, blurted out in surprise. Compared to Wang Ziliang's surprise, Lin Moxiao was stunned. After hesitating for a moment, she turned to look at Jiang Shuyue with eagerness. She nodded while looking at the text messages on her phone.

At this moment, Jiang Shuya arrived at the "Bijiang Hotel". She looked around in the lobby for a while and then bought the book in her handbag. It was a book she had wanted to read for a long time and didn't want to miss it. Since she didn't have time to come, she could take it back and read it in the evening. It would both pass the time and prevent her from overthinking.

Unable to find her third sister in the lobby, she checked her phone and learned from a text message that she was in a private room on the second floor. She felt a pang of annoyance; was she not alone, and were there other people? Was it inappropriate for her to show up? After asking a waiter, she was led upstairs to the private room.
