Chapter 86 Saved Her

The person in his arms gripped his sleeve tightly. He hesitated for a moment, then picked up the phone on the table, wanting to call Aunt Lan. He wondered if Aunt Lan would come so late. It was freezing outside, and he couldn't bring himself to ask her to come through the wind and snow.

He gritted his teeth, put her down, got up and took out sanitary napkins from the bag he had bought. He really didn't know how to use them, so he carefully read the instructions and saw that one of the packs was a pull-up style overnight panty. He immediately opened it and took out a soft pull-up panty.

I went into the bedroom, turned on the air conditioner, adjusted the temperature, found an eye mask in the suitcase, walked over to her, helped her take off her shoes, put on the eye mask, squatted down, and reached into her clothes to find the zipper on her upper body. The buttons were quickly undone, and her two pairs of pants were quickly taken off and placed on the ground. I also took off her innermost underwear.

He could smell a warm, metallic scent of blood. He took out the soft, cotton pull-up diaper, stretched it a couple of times, and started pulling it up from her ankles. He was nervous, but his movements were quick and efficient. As he pulled it up, he still touched her skin. Her skin was smooth and soft, tingling and numb. He felt a sudden unease, and for some reason, he felt very lewd and perverted.

He was filled with doubt and a glimmer of hope. He wondered if she would think he had taken advantage of her when she woke up. He believed he truly hadn't meant to. He half-lifted her, helped her put on her diapers, removed her blindfold, and saw the clothes piled on the floor, stained with blood. He went to the bathroom, got a towel, and used warm water to wipe away the bloodstains on her legs. After cleaning her up, he took off her down jacket, picked her up, and carried her into the bedroom. He covered her with a blanket, then got an adult fever-reducing patch, bent down, and placed it on her forehead. He whispered in her ear, "You refuse to take your medicine. Try this herbal fever-reducing patch first. If the fever doesn't go down tonight, I'll take you to the hospital."

She stirred slightly in her daze, her brow furrowing, but she didn't speak.

He walked out of the room and saw dirty clothes on the floor. The down jacket on the sofa, covering his backside, was also dirty, but luckily the sofa was clean and the down jacket covered everything. He reached into the large pocket of her down jacket and took out the contents: a notebook and a cell phone. He picked up all the dirty clothes and put them in the bathroom basin, then began to wash them one by one by hand.

Down jackets are difficult to wash, so he hand-washed them the whole time, which took him a long time. After washing them, he helped her air dry them. Once he finished, he went into the bedroom to check on her. She was already fast asleep. He checked her temperature again; it was normal. He brought some hot water and wiped her face and feet. Her feet were fair, delicate, and long. He could tell what size shoes she wore by comparing them with his hands, and he almost laughed. He also took the socks she had taken off to wash. After washing them, he saw her phone beeping on the sofa. It was so late; who would send a text message? He glanced at it. The screen read: "Wife, I miss you so much. Don't ignore me. Let's not get a divorce, okay?"

He was suddenly startled. Weren't they happy together? She wanted a divorce. He stood by the window, lost in thought, with many questions in his mind, yet he could do nothing about it.

He went into the bedroom, found his own pajamas, and dressed her in them. Only then did he feel at ease sitting beside her, gazing at her peaceful face and delicate features. Sometimes she frowned, sometimes she smiled. Her even breathing filled his mind, and he could smell the fragrance of her hair. He suddenly wanted to hug her and tell her that he had always loved her, but reason told him he couldn't do that. So he just sat beside her silently, watching her. Late at night, seeing her forehead sweating, he brought her some hot water, wiped it with a towel, and changed her fever-reducing patch. She said she was thirsty, so he poured her some warm water to drink. After drinking the water, her fever broke in the latter half of the night. He looked at the normal temperature on the thermometer and finally felt relieved.

Her fever subsided, and she curled up in bed. Suddenly, she felt cold again. He hesitated for a moment, looked at the air conditioner that was turned on, but there was no light on it. He realized that the indoor temperature had dropped at some point. It must have been because the outside temperature was too low and the air conditioner pipes were frozen. Only then did he remember that there was no electric blanket at home, and he, a grown man, didn't need one at all.

He took off his coat and lay down next to her, trying to keep a distance from her to avoid touching her. However, the blanket between them was sticking out and letting in a draft, so he moved further in. Unexpectedly, she wrapped her arms around his waist and put her legs on him. She moved and he could feel that she was very cold. He pulled her into his arms and held her tightly in his embrace.

She could feel a strong chest, a chest that made her feel very safe. His body was like a furnace, radiating warmth. The heat quickly entered her body. She craved his embrace and hoped it would last longer. She fell asleep contentedly in his arms.

He wanted to hold her tightly forever, not wanting to let go. Although there was nothing he could do, he knew she needed him now, even if she wasn't conscious. Perhaps she wouldn't need him anymore when she woke up tomorrow.

Lost in a jumble of thoughts, the two embraced and quickly fell asleep.

The next morning, Lin Moxiao opened his eyes. She was still asleep. He saw her sleeping face and her slightly upturned lips. He felt an urge to kiss her. His Adam's apple bobbed. The message from last night came to mind. Reason pulled him back. He quietly lifted the covers, got out of bed, and gently closed the door.

She didn't know how much time had passed. In her hazy state, she heard voices of admonition and footsteps outside, which then fell silent again. When she woke up, it was almost noon. Opening her eyes, she was puzzled by the scene in the room. The room was elegantly decorated in silver-gray, as were the curtains. She was lying on a soft, large bed, even the headboard was silver-gray. The blanket covering her was soft and white. At that moment, she felt a warm sensation as she lay down. Startled, she remembered something and lifted the blanket, only to find herself wearing light gray pajama bottoms. She didn't know when she had put on her overnight underwear. She realized with alarm that she hadn't put these on herself, and her groggy head immediately cleared up.

Footsteps approached from outside the door, and a middle-aged woman pushed the door open and entered. Seeing that she was awake, she immediately smiled and said, "Miss Jiang, you're awake! Are you hungry? I made you some Five Red Soup. I'll go get you some."

"Who are you?" Jiang Shuya frowned, then felt another wave of abdominal pain.

“Mr. Lin asked me to take care of you. You can call me Aunt Lan!” Aunt Lan gently wiped her forehead: “You feel a little hot. Do you have a fever again? Here, eat something first, and then drink some medicine. You’ll feel better soon.”

Just as she was about to leave, Jiang Shuya called out to her, "Aunt Lan, I need to go to the restroom. Can you help me? My stomach hurts so much."

Seeing the pained expression on her face, Aunt Lan walked over with heartache, half pulling and half supporting her to get up and walk to the bathroom door.
