Jiang Shuya sniffed, and instead of getting angry, she smiled:
"Even if I'm immoral, I've never intended to harm anyone. Don't forget, you carry the burden of guilt and human lives for the rest of your life."
After saying that, he strode out of the courtyard and arrived at Zhang Xiaohui's house. He happened to see several of Xiaohui's fellow apprentices. They were all sitting in the courtyard waiting for Jiang Shuya, who had heard that she wanted to see them today.
According to Zhang Xiaohui's introduction, a man in his sixties was Master Guo, and he also had a senior apprentice and a junior apprentice. Later, she said that they had taken on two apprentices.
Jiang Shuya was overjoyed. She had calculated in her mind that each of the two stores would need at least four chefs, and a few more wouldn't be a problem. It was better to be prepared. After discussing it with them, Jiang Shuya handed over all the recruitment matters to Zhang Xiaohui and asked her to find Sun Qi to print out a contract that promised shares to several chefs.
After leaving Zhang Xiaohui's house, Jiang Shuya went to Li Xiaohua's house to ask if she would like to work at the restaurant. The condition was that her family's braised food was very good, with a unique recipe, and was well-known in their hometown. However, it only appeared in the night market or was sold at street stalls. At most, it did some OEM processing for some specialty stores. It was a famous but not real specialty braised food shop.
Upon hearing the purpose of their visit, Li Xiaohua hesitated somewhat:
"My family's salted goose only tastes so good because we use locally raised free-range grass-fed geese. The same goes for our chicken and duck; we make them fresh to order. Nanjing is quite far from my home, and the long transportation time would definitely affect the taste!"
Jiang Shuya smiled, her face sincere:
"I asked Master Guo, and he knows a supplier who specializes in poultry farming. The supply chain for free-range poultry is very mature, so you don't need to worry about that. As long as you make these few kinds of braised dishes at the shop every day, your income won't be less than what you earn working a regular job."
While Li Xiaohua was struggling with her decision, Jiang Shuya stopped pressuring her.
"Both stores are still under renovation, so you have plenty of time to consider them. Just let me know when you've made a decision."
After finishing all that, Jiang Shuya called Jiang Shuting and asked her to continue driving traffic to the three online food delivery platforms.
After leaving Xixia Village, Jiang Shuya took a bus to Lida Shopping Mall. She first went to the second-floor store to look for Li Xiaoru, but after asking around, she found out that Li Xiaoru was not at work. Jiang Shuya was surprised and hurriedly called her, but no one answered after several attempts. She then found Zheng Jia in the store.
Zheng Jia's eyes lit up when she saw Jiang Shuya, whom she hadn't seen in a long time:
"Xiaoya, what have you been up to lately? I asked your cousin, and she said you got divorced. Is that true?"
Jiang Shuya was taken aback: "Did she really tell you that?"
“Yes, we all know. Your brother came to pick up the goods yesterday, and we all asked him about it. He told us it wasn't true. Think about it, for something this big, your brother's word is definitely more truthful.”
Zheng Jia was ironing clothes with a smile, then leaned close to Jiang Shuya's ear and said:
"She also said that you cheated on me first, but I don't believe that at all."
Jiang Shuya suddenly realized, and after a moment of stunned silence, she remembered telling Li Xiaoru not to tell anyone. Thinking of the purpose of her visit today, she paused:
"Do you even know where she went? Doesn't she have to go to work?"
Zheng Jia sighed:
"To be honest, she's been here for almost three months and has already been reprimanded twice by our manager, both times for conflicts with customers. Luckily, we were all there in time to help her out. Although some customers are difficult, most of these situations can be avoided cleverly. It's fortunate that our manager sees her lack of experience and is willing to keep her; otherwise, she would have been fired long ago."
Jiang Shuya listened quietly, then asked:
"Isn't she at work right now? And you even know where she went?"
Zheng Jia shook her head;
"She said yesterday she was going to Zhangjiajie for a trip and asked someone from the other shift to cover her shift. She didn't say anything else. Isn't she staying at your house? Didn't she tell you?"
After hearing her words, Jiang Shuya called Li Xiaoru again, but she still didn't answer. She continued to ask:
"Do you know who she's with? Is it just her?"
Zheng Jia pursed her lips and chuckled softly:
"Maybe it's with her boyfriend. I think she has a boyfriend who comes to see her often."
Jiang Shuya realized what was happening, said goodbye to Zheng Jia, and went to find Wang Ziliang.
She would feel at ease if she were with Wang Ziliang, but she learned from Wang Ziliang that Li Xiaoru had gone out with a childhood friend from the same village and had hired someone to cover three classes; today was the first day.
Jiang Shuya felt a sense of unease; you wanted to go out and play, and no one stopped you! Why didn't you answer the phone? To test her, she asked Wang Ziliang to call her as well, but no one answered.
"Cousin, she might have fallen asleep in the car. It's okay, she'll probably call you back when she sees the missed call," Wang Ziliang quickly reassured her.
Then, with a delighted expression, he opened his phone and showed Jiang Shuya the recent upward trend of Qilian stocks.
Upon closer inspection, Qilian stock closed at 16.1 today, almost reaching its highest point.
Jiang Shuya pointed to the very conspicuous stock line:
"Ziliang, once the price reaches 17 points, you must sell everything. Don't hold onto it and let it accumulate. The stock price should stabilize around 12 later; holding onto it will easily lead to being trapped, and that would be a huge loss."
Wang Ziliang nodded cautiously:
"Understood, I will finish this quickly and decisively, without any delays."
After chatting for a while, Jiang Shuya found Wang Tingting in the mall. Seeing her, she rushed over and gave her a big hug. Noticing she had indeed gained some weight, she joked, "Looks like breaking up with Sun Qi didn't make you lose any weight at all; you've actually gotten quite plump."
Wang Tingting playfully punched her shoulder, feigning anger; "Do you really think I'm that heartless?"
Jiang Shuya retorted with a smile, "Isn't that right?"
Wang Tingting sighed as she walked:
"If he had been even a little more attentive or caring towards me, I wouldn't have so easily fallen into another person's trap of tenderness."
Jiang Shuya paused: "Oh, so it seems that person treats you better than Sun Qi?"
Wang Tingting shrugged, feigning helplessness: "A bouquet of flowers every day, all sorts of gifts, endless fuss over me—you can handle that, but I'm a child who's always lacked love. This is the biggest void I crave, and I desperately want to fill it. Really, I need so much love, without limits. I never want to run around with someone who doesn't care about me anymore, shedding tears. That's too exhausting."
Jiang Shuya listened to her so frankly. She didn't know what Wang Tingting had been through, or whether that person was really as she said, treating her the same as always. Perhaps Sun Qi really gave her too little. It wasn't that they didn't like each other, but that they didn't love each other deeply enough.
