Jiang Shuya looked at him with surprise in her clear eyes, unsure how to answer.
Lin Moxiao raised his hand and pinched her chin, a hint of coldness flashing in his dark eyes;
Are you single? Answer me.
Jiang Shuya was frightened by his gloomy and cold gaze, and stammered as she spoke;
"Yes, I'm single."
Upon hearing the answer he wanted, Lin Moxiao's stern gaze softened instantly;
"You don't need to pretend. In my eyes, you're perfect. Trust me, Grandma will love you just as much as I do."
Just then, Jiang Shuhuai's voice could be heard from not far away;
"Sis, come here. This product number is confused with the brand we just had. Let me take a look."
Jiang Shuya quickly turned around, then turned to Lin Moxiao and said, "I'm coming over for a moment."
Lin Moxiao nodded silently, her gaze involuntarily falling on Jiang Shuhuai. This boy, who had chatted with her for so long on the phone, was actually a simpleton.
At this moment, Wang Ziliang walked over and offered him a cigarette, but Lin Moxiao didn't take it, saying expressionlessly, "I don't smoke."
Jiang Shuya, who was helping Jiang Shuhuai choose the goods not far away, was absent-minded and hesitant. Thinking about going to see Lin Moxiao's grandmother, her palms were sweating nervously.
At the corner of the square, a black sedan honked its horn a few times. After the car door opened, a man in a black leather jacket got out and strode over. At first glance, his handsome face was stubborn and cold. He casually and lazily called out to Jiang Shuya.
"Xiaoya, you really are here."
Upon hearing the voice, Jiang Shuya was stunned to see Huang Minghao. Her body tensed, her heart raced, and her mind began to buzz as if her usually feigned smile in front of others was about to explode.
Huang Minghao passed by Lin Moxiao and Wang Ziliang, a smile on his face as he looked at Jiang Shuya, his haggard face full of roguish charm.
Huang Minghao, whom we hadn't seen for several days, looked a bit thinner. His wheat-colored skin gave him a mysterious, roguish charm. He walked around the flowerbed, approached, and his tone softened:
"Xiaoya, today is Grandpa's birthday. All of us grandchildren are going to pay our respects to him. I've come to pick you up so we can go together. Grandma told me you absolutely must be there today."
Not far away, Lin Moxiao and Wang Ziliang clearly heard Huang Minghao's voice and both turned their gazes toward Jiang Shuya.
"Sister, you and brother-in-law go ahead, I'll be fine on my own." Jiang Shuhuai stood up and continued to Huang Minghao;
"Brother-in-law, please treat my sister well. She's working so hard all by herself. She often doesn't eat properly, and she doesn't know how to cook. Food from outside isn't clean, and she always complains of stomach aches at night."
Jiang Shuhuai was unaware that his sister and brother-in-law had divorced, but he still harbored a great deal of resentment towards Huang Minghao and openly expressed his dissatisfaction.
Huang Minghao learned from Jiang Shuhuai's words that she had been staying with her younger brother these days, and he was immediately relieved.
Seeing Jiang Shuya's cold and indifferent expression, not looking at him or speaking, Huang Minghao restrained himself and walked over to her in a familiar manner, gently putting his arm around her and whispering in her ear.
"Why don't you go back and check on Tangtang? She has a low-grade fever today and keeps crying and wanting her mother."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Shuya did not immediately push Huang Minghao away, but looked at him with a nervous expression.
"What did you say? Tangtang has a low-grade fever. What happened?"
Sure enough, Tangtang was Jiang Shuya's weakness. Jiang Shuhuai thought his brother-in-law was whispering to his sister, so he turned his head away.
Huang Minghao leaned close to Jiang Shuya's ear;
"Don't worry, Tangtang just wants her mom. She should be alright. We went to the hospital this morning; the doctor said she was just frightened. Go back and check on her!"
Not far away, Lin Moxiao gritted his teeth, his hands clenched into fists, his heart aching as if it were being torn apart. His eyes were filled with a sinister and terrifying light as he stared at the man in front of Jiang Shuya, who was holding the woman who was about to become his right under his nose and whispering secrets.
Suddenly, a murderous urge flashed in his eyes, and he was about to step forward when Wang Ziliang grabbed him.
"Ah Xiao, don't do anything stupid! She's already taken, don't make a foolish mistake."
At this moment, a flame was burning in Lin Moxiao's chest, urgent and extremely intense like a burst of fireworks.
A surge of intense anger was about to engulf the man. Seeing them openly embracing, he could no longer contain his rage and broke free from Wang Ziliang's grasp, heading straight for them.
"Ah Xiao, think it through. Impulsiveness is the devil," Wang Ziliang continued to advise from behind. "Why not give the decision to Jiang Shuya and see what she chooses?"
Huang Minghao put his arm around Jiang Shuya and said goodbye to Jiang Shuhuai before turning to leave. As they passed Lin Moxiao not far away, Jiang Shuya looked at him quietly with a look of guilt and unease in her eyes.
She turned and looked at him deeply with her clear eyes, her gaze filled with bitterness and helplessness, she thought;
Lin Moxiao, you hate me, but please don't blame me or resent me, because you can't understand my predicament.
"Jiang Shuya." Lin Moxiao stared intently at her, his brows furrowed in coldness, his heart aching.
When Huang Minghao saw Jiang Shuya turn around, he hugged her shoulders even tighter, as if afraid she would fly away.
Looking at the tall, handsome man not far away with a puzzled expression, she could clearly see that there was an ambiguous relationship between the way he looked at her wife.
Lin Moxiao called out again from behind;
Jiang Shuya.
I can hardly believe this is her choice; it seems like I'm waiting for her to change her mind.
Jiang Shuya took a deep breath, stopped, her body stiffened, and turned to smile at Lin Moxiao with a sorrowful expression, uttering two words.
Let's go!
Huang Minghao was overjoyed and couldn't help but lean down and kiss her on her fair face.
This action drove Lin Moxiao into a frenzy. Just as he was about to lash out, Wang Ziliang held him tightly with both hands, panting heavily.
"Ah Xiao, wake up! Stop being so wishful thinking. You're just a murderer who destroys other people's marriages. Brother, I beg you, let Jiang Shuya go!"
Let's not get involved with her. Isn't it better to be friends? Do you really have to develop a romantic relationship? If you continue to be so stubborn, what will become of her?
Lin Moxiao watched the two get into the car and leave with bloodshot eyes. He suddenly realized how pathetic he was. He had loved her for five years, but he couldn't say it out loud.
Being sneaky and furtive like a thief is a kind of shameful hypocrisy that can only be hidden deep in one's heart, never to be exposed.
He closed his eyes in agony, not wanting to see her lying in another man's arms. It was more painful than killing him. A heart-wrenching despair was about to bury him. Heartbroken, he was abandoned once again, and gradually his will became unclear.
He couldn't understand why she had given him her whole heart, thought about their bright future every moment, planned to give him everything he had, and loved her to the core.
Despite all I did for her, I still couldn't get her to make that firm choice.
Where did Jiang Shuya place him? What kind of person did she take him for?
