Chapter 228 Jiang Shuyue Loses Her Mind

Jiang Shuya really didn't want to continue arguing with this man who had killed her in her past life. She forcefully pried his hands off and roared loudly:

"You may not care, but I do. We are mortal enemies; I feel only hatred for you and have no need for your pity."

Huang Minghao never expected that she would be so disgusted with him. For many days, his male pride had been constantly crushed by her. When he learned that she had an affair with that man, he felt utterly humiliated and defeated.

He has always valued loyalty and pride. Although he has never put any thought into this woman, Huang Minghao cannot deceive himself. He admits that he has feelings for her deep down. Her departure and her indifference hurt him. At this moment, he admits that he has already fallen in love with her.

For days, the pent-up anger in his heart had been causing him immense distress. He knew perfectly well that she had nothing to do with him anymore, but she still stepped in to help him, hadn't she? He believed there was still hope.

"Since you're willing to be with that man for money, I'll give you money too, and you'll spend one night with me."

Huang Minghao took out all the money he had and stuffed it into her arms.

Jiang Shuya angrily threw the money at him, her chest heaving.

"Huang Minghao, wake up! A good horse doesn't turn back to eat the grass it already grazed. You almost killed me; how could I possibly continue to have anything to do with someone like you? Anyone else in the world is fine, but not you."

As she picked up her clothes to leave, Huang Minghao suddenly shouted:

"Is it because of Huang Tao? I'll give you an explanation for this, and make him pay the price. I know where he's hiding."

Upon hearing the name, Jiang Shuya turned around abruptly, her eyes filled with panic and fear. Seeing this, Huang Minghao immediately walked over and embraced her, stroking her hair.

"I know you've been greatly wronged. I swear to you, I will find him and personally put him in jail."

Jiang Shuya in his arms was sobbing uncontrollably, her whole body trembling. Huang Minghao wiped away her tears with his hand, lowered his head, and kissed her lips.

He was about to enjoy kissing her soft red lips, but the strong smell of tobacco on his breath brought Jiang Shuya back to her senses. She immediately pushed him away, and Huang Minghao stumbled, caught off guard.

Jiang Shuya clutched her bag tightly and fled in panic.

Before she even reached the store on Leshan Road, an urgent phone call came in. When she answered, it was her cousin. Jiang Shuya was terrified to hear her cousin crying uncontrollably on the phone.

"Third sister, what's wrong?"

At this moment, Jiang Shuyue was in a very bad state. She was sitting alone in a dimly lit bar on Hexi Street. The place was noisy and chaotic. When Jiang Shuya approached, she opened her eyes half asleep and looked at her.

Jiang Shuya stepped forward and shook her arm; "Hey, what's wrong with you? Why are you so drunk?"

Jiang Shuyue lay motionless on the bar counter, tears welling in her eyes. She raised a hand and patted Jiang Shuya's body.

"Xiaoya, you're here! Don't I look scary? Let me tell you, I've been living such a miserable life. Someone framed me, and I couldn't even fight back. I really didn't do it, but no one believed me. I got fired. Without me, they're all happy. Haha, they won."

Jiang Shuya, standing to the side, looked bewildered. She called over a waiter, ordered a glass of water, and handed it to her cousin.

"Drink some water, cousin. Clarify yourself and tell me what really happened."

Jiang Shuyue thought she was being handed a glass of wine, so she immediately tilted her head back and drank it down. After two gulps, her brows furrowed.

"Xiaoya, what you gave me to drink is water."

"Yes, you can still tell it's water, which means you're not drunk yet. Did you call me here just to watch you drink, to prove you can hold your liquor?"

Jiang Shuya pulled her up and said again:

"Don't drink anymore. I'll take you home. Or, if you come to my place, I'll have someone make you a hangover soup."

Jiang Shuyue was very strong; she pushed her, and her head shook like a rattle-drum, her breath reeking of alcohol.

"I'm not drunk, really, listen to me, Xiaoya, I really didn't do that. I'm telling you, I know only you can help me. I'm so unwilling to be tricked by those people. Please help me, I beg you, Xiaoya."

Jiang Shuya saw her cousin's tear-streaked face and sad expression, and couldn't help but feel concerned.

"What's wrong? How can I help you? Tell me."

Jiang Shuyue sniffed her aching nose, her voice trembling:

"A month ago, the company purchased a batch of acetate fabric. This fabric is very similar to silk; you can't tell the difference with the naked eye. However, once it's made into garments and washed, its true nature becomes apparent. It only looks similar. This fabric is very stuffy but has a good drape, while silk is moisture-wicking, breathable, and provides warmth. After the design department confirmed the fabric in the sample garment, I was supposed to send a production confirmation email to the production department. But I sent it out according to the sample garment. Since this batch of goods entered the market, we've experienced a large number of returns from distributors, causing significant losses to the company. After an investigation, we discovered that the fabric was wrong—it was the email I sent out."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Shuya was incredulous: "Then are you sure you sent that email? Who wants to harm you?"

Jiang Shuyue shook her head, pursed her lips, and clenched her fists, pounding them on the bar counter.

"We just couldn't find out who tampered with my account. I'm a designer, very sensitive to clothing fabrics. There's no way I could make such a basic mistake; I swear to God."

Jiang Shuya looked helpless; she suddenly realized how dark those high-paying workplaces were.

"So you were just fired like that? Didn't they ask you to pay compensation?"

Jiang Shuyue covered her head and shook her head:

"After this incident, Lin Moxiao immediately ordered my dismissal without even giving me a chance to explain. I went to him, but he refused to see me. I was completely isolated and helpless, you know? My former boss wouldn't be so kind; she'll blacklist me. Even if I leave Yunshang Garment and go to another company, I'll have a criminal record. I have no way out; I can never enter this industry again."

Mentioning Lin Moxiao, Jiang Shuya's heart tightened: 'You're his classmate, won't he listen to your explanation?'

Jiang Shuyue sighed deeply: "Since he took office, the company has undergone tremendous changes. At first, I thought it meant the company was about to usher in a new turning point. I was promoted by him against all odds, and I also thought he trusted me to some extent. I just didn't expect that he wouldn't give me any chance to explain at all."
