Chapter 161 He Didn't Leave

As evening fell, the wind along the river grew stronger. Jiang Shuya sat absentmindedly under the pavilion, gazing at the sky. Her tears had long since dried up. With a heavy heart, she slumped against the railing of the chair, seemingly aware of the growing cold. Yet, her weary body preferred to remain frozen rather than leave.

It was eerily quiet here, pitch black all around, with only the sound of the biting wind. The sky grew darker and darker, but here she could enjoy peace and quiet, undisturbed by anyone. Gradually, she leaned against the chair railing and fell asleep. With her eyes closed, she stopped having any wild thoughts.

As night fell, the sky was strewn with brilliant stars, adding a touch of brilliance to the dark night. Sitting in the car, Lin Moxiao couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard she tried, still worried about the person not far away.

Seeing that she hadn't made a move, Lin Moxiao couldn't contain her anxiety and decided to get out of the car and head towards the riverside viewing platform.

Upon arriving at the pavilion, Lin Moxiao saw a person lying motionless on the railing of a chair. She walked over and gently patted them.

"Jiang Shuya, Jiang Shuya."

There was no response. Lin Moxiao quickly took off his clothes and wrapped them around her. He sat down and glanced at her curled up beside him. He frowned. The night was cold and the dew was heavy. He couldn't bear to see her wake up from the cold.

He simply reached out and hugged her, wrapping her tightly in his own clothes. He glanced down at her long eyelashes and angelic sleeping face, and couldn't help but kiss her forehead.

His gaze was fixed on her serene face. Her skin was delicate and fair, with no visible pores. He pressed his face against hers; it was cool and smooth, and he could hear her soft breathing.

Whispered quietly in her ear:

"Jiang Shuya, tell me, what can I do to live in your heart? I'm not greedy, even just for a moment."

Jiang Shuya remained asleep, offering no response. Her even breathing echoed in the man's ears for a long time without a sound.

Lin Moxiao hugged her and suddenly realized that being with her was good enough.

As the stars faded into the night, in the cold night, Lin Moxiao held Jiang Shuya motionless, sleeping like a docile cat, completely unaware that the person holding him was growing increasingly stiff from the cold, shivering and trembling. The person in his arms remained calm in this warm embrace, enjoying the soft, human-like bed.

Even the most exhausted person can feel the coldness in their feet. A gust of wind blew in and chilled Jiang Shuya's feet. She shivered, pulled her legs back, and desperately burrowed into Lin Moxiao's arms, curling up in his embrace and holding him even tighter, which startled Lin Moxiao, who was gradually becoming sleepy.

Before they knew it, they both drifted off into the night in a daze.

As dawn broke and the chill intensified, Jiang Shuya turned around, only to be firmly held by Lin Moxiao's hands, preventing her from falling to the ground.

As dawn broke and she was still sleepy, she saw two dark eyes staring at her. Suddenly, she woke up and looked directly into the man's deep eyes, her eyes revealing a deep affection.

"You, you didn't leave?" Jiang Shuya hurriedly propped herself up, but he held her too tightly and she couldn't break free. She could only sit up by wrapping one arm around his waist.

Lin Moxiao didn't give her a chance to sit up, keeping her wrapped around his arms and looking at her with a gloomy expression:

“You slept in my arms all night. If I hadn’t been here, you would have frozen to death and no one would have cared.”

Jiang Shuya blinked, somewhat embarrassed:

"I'm so sorry! I was feeling really unwell and exhausted yesterday, and I made you feel bad."

"How will you repay me? Will you treat me to a meal, or will you offer yourself to me?"

Lin Moxiao raised an eyebrow at her coldly, seemingly a little angry about her attitude yesterday.

"Let me treat you to a meal! I'm not as rich as you, and I'm sure you wouldn't even look at my meager earnings. I won't thank you enough."

Jiang Shuya noticed that his clothes were very thin, so she hurriedly pulled off the clothes covering him.

But to his surprise, he couldn't budge him at all. The man in front of him was like a statue, and he couldn't do anything to him.

"Don't bother. I've already been chilled. It won't be long before the cold seeps into my body, affects my blood and qi, and I get a fever, headache, and faint. You have to stay by my side and take good care of me."

Lin Moxiao said with a serious expression

The man spoke so casually, as if cursing himself. It's a pity that God won't give him such an opportunity. Such a good physique isn't something that can be achieved overnight, because this man has an iron-like foundation.

Jiang Shuya saw him sitting upright, without the slightest sign of dejection, and was impressed by his resolute and calm character, and her heart slowly began to stir.

However, he really did stay by her side all night. In such cold weather, seeing his face growing paler from the cold, his long eyelashes, and his eyes looking down at her with a slightly vertical hook, she couldn't help but reach out and touch his angular face.

For the first time, she realized that such a handsome man could be so devoted to her. It all felt like a dream, and she lamented to herself why she had rejected him so harshly in her past life, and wasted more than ten years in an unhappy marriage.

The soft warmth of her hand brushed against the man's face, softening his cold, handsome features. The two smiled at each other.

Lin Moxiao made no attempt to hide his love. He couldn't help but lower his head and kiss her luscious red lips. Their lips met, and there was an indescribable understanding between them. From gentle drizzle to a raging storm, in the midst of their passionate kiss, her lips parted slightly, enticing him to go deeper and responding to his passion.

Their hearts were ignited like flames, their breaths mingled, their blood burned throughout their bodies, and his tongue teased, tantalized, and explored her lips.

She obediently closed her eyes, naturally yielding to him without offering any resistance.

His kisses grew increasingly unrestrained, passionate and frenzied, like a wild beast eager to possess her. Perhaps his kisses lasted too long, as Jiang Shuya, almost breathless, began to resist. Lin Moxiao, still wanting more, gave her a moment to catch her breath before his kisses fell once more on her neck and earlobe.

"No, no, not here."

Jiang Shuya protested, pushing away the man who was holding her, her flushed face showing both rationality and shyness.

The man's passion hadn't subsided; he continued to kiss her neck. He knew this was inappropriate, but he couldn't resist the woman he had longed for day and night. He desperately wanted to possess her.

"Please, no, not here."

Jiang Shuya's eyes were filled with tears.

She never imagined that a moment of indulgence would lead him to become so uncontrollably entangled with her here.

Lin Moxiao, suppressing his agitation, saw tears welling up in her eyes and tried hard to control his restless emotions.

He thoughtfully straightened the clothes around her neck and shoulders, and then helped her sit up.
