Seeing that she was awake and her face was relaxed, Lin Moxiao was a little angry: "You asked me to come and help, but you fell asleep yourself, and you still think that I took advantage of you. Miss Jiang, you are married, and I am not."

Jiang Shuya blushed at his words and retorted directly: "I have one more marriage certificate than you. As far as I know, you've been with quite a few women, haven't you? You've never lacked beauties around you. Stop pretending to be so infatuated in front of me."

Lin Moxiao was speechless for a moment. In an instant, he thought of the women who had been with him over the years. Some were attracted to his looks, some were after his money, and some wanted to satisfy his vanity. He could sense that none of them were sincere. He really couldn't satisfy their appetites. They always subtly asked for this and that. Their demands were too many, making it impossible for him to calm down and get along with them.

Perhaps she had touched a nerve, Jiang Shuya felt a little annoyed and ashamed: "Mr. Lin, I'm very sorry, I take back what I just said."

Just as Lin Moxiao was about to speak, she suddenly heard a phone ringing. The two looked at each other, leaned against the wall, took out their phones, glanced at them, and shook their heads at each other.

Undoubtedly, the phone call came from inside the house. Jiang Shuya looked out the window and saw Huang Tao looking sleepy, impatiently fiddling around for his phone. After answering the call, she couldn't hear what was being said on the other end, but she heard him nodding incoherently, giving vague and tacit approval.

Seeing him get out of bed and get dressed, Jiang Shuya said, "Let's go to the river."

As Jiang Shuya walked, she took out her phone. Her fingers were stiff and frozen like iron. She tremblingly sent a text message to Sun Qi: "Huang Tao has taken action."

The two hid at the riverbank and soon saw Huang Tao heading towards Dagengshang, where there was a cement road leading directly to the Jiajiang Bridge. They stayed behind Huang Minghao's grandfather's house and followed Huang Tao carefully, hiding and dodging, afraid of revealing any clues.

The heavy snow turned the dark night into a white frost, instantly brightening the world. The footprints on the ground were clearly visible. The two hid far away by the corner of a house and saw Huang Tao standing under the Jiajiang Bridge, looking around intently. He stood there for a long time, pacing back and forth, scratching his head and making a phone call.

The two people standing behind the corner of the room had somehow found themselves holding hands, trembling nervously, their eyes fixed on the person making the phone call.

Jiang Shuya's hand was held tightly by him. After she realized what was happening, she pulled away. Her fingers were no longer as stiff as before. Lin Moxiao just glanced at her and didn't say anything.

After a long while, an unidentified van stopped beside Huang Tao. A head popped out, looked around, said a few words to Huang Tao, nodded in agreement, opened the door, and let Huang Tao get in.

Seeing the vehicle turn around and head west, Jiang Shuya took out her phone and called Sun Qi. After the call connected, she said, "They've set off and should be heading towards the Yangtze River. It's quite far away, so I can't see who's inside or how many there are. Once you get there, call the police immediately if you see those children. I'm taking a shortcut to get there now."

At this moment, in the reeds behind the illegally built houses by the river, Sun Qi waited for a long time, but there was no movement. He even began to have second thoughts. Because of Jiang Shuya's suspicion, he wondered if it was worth spending the whole night in the freezing cold. He also thought of the abducted children. Although he had once thought of them as pitiful, they were lucky to have their grandparents' love and to have not been framed.

"Okay, sister-in-law, the newspaper is in my hand. Once I see it clearly, I'll call the police immediately. Be careful." Sun Qi lay in the reeds behind the illegally constructed house, shivering from the cold. Her head was already covered with a light layer of snow. She turned off her flashlight and waited still, her heart pounding wildly.

Jiang Shuya glanced at the direction the vehicle was traveling and pointed to the small road diagonally opposite: "Let's go, let's take the shortcut and try to get there before them."

Lin Moxiao had doubts and asked, puzzled, "They drive, we walk. Are you sure we can get there first?"

Jiang Shuya replied without hesitation, "Of course, there's a road under construction to the northwest ahead that's blocked off, so they can't go any further. They'll definitely have to detour eastward for a while, which will take them longer to get there."

The two ran quickly against the wind and snow, their cheeks red from the cold. The path ahead became narrower and narrower. Because they were running too fast, their feet slipped and Jiang Shuya fell. Lin Moxiao stopped and reached out to help her up: "The snow hasn't been falling for long, the road is very slippery, be careful."

Jiang Shuya reached out and her hand was grasped by him. He led her gently and orderly, and she no longer walked as fast and energetically as before.

The two soon arrived at the riverbank. A long road stretched along the river, winding and turning. The reeds along the riverbank were a vast expanse of white. The river embankment was built very high, specifically to block the river tides and to prevent the river from overflowing and flooding the banks in the summer.

Jiang Shuya climbed up the embankment: "We can't walk along the riverbank. We need to go down into the reeds and follow the path along the reeds. There's a fishpond ahead, and the illegal building is not far from the fishpond."

The slope was high and covered with snow, making it very slippery. Jiang Shuya's legs were trembling slightly. Lin Moxiao stepped over, stomped on the snow, and walked at the bottom, leaving deep footprints. He glanced at the person above and said, "It's safer for you to follow my footprints."

Jiang Shuya understood immediately and followed him step by step. Soon they reached the reeds, and the two held each other's hands and walked slowly forward. They soon entered the fishpond. In this freezing weather, Old Man Chen did not want to keep watch by the river every night. Ever since the fish in the river had turned into money some time ago, he rarely appeared here. He would only occasionally take a stroll around during the day, look around, and then go home.
