Chapter 39 Li Biao is back

On a night when everyone was fast asleep, DouDou suddenly started yelling unusually.

Ye Yunyi was the first to be awakened. He picked up his phone and looked at the surveillance footage. There was a row of scattered lights on the small road behind him, which looked like cars.

A sense of unease spread through her heart, and she quickly woke up Wang Zixiang, who was beside her.

They put on their clothes and carefully examined the objects through binoculars.

“It’s cars, lots of cars,” Wang Zixiang said.

A short while later, the convoy approached. There were six vehicles in total, and the passenger in the first car looked like Li Biao. Ye Yunyi handed the binoculars to Wang Zixiang, who identified the person and said, "It's him."

Good heavens, he's still alive and even brought people back. No matter what, Ye Yunyi's family is doomed this time.

"Quickly, wake them up and prepare for battle," Ye Yunyi said.

Wang Zixiang quickly went to the next room to wake up Wang Xuanxuan, and then asked Wang Xuanxuan to go to Building 38 to wake up Ye's parents.

Fortunately, they didn't put the corn together, but dried it on the roof of Building 38. The food they ate was mostly kept in the basement.

They searched the house again for valuables and important items, packed them up, hid them in the tunnel, and left, so that their parents could move out.

Aunt Li probably doesn't know about what happened at Building 38, since she can't see Building 38 or the area behind the mountain. She can only see her own house.

They can preserve most of the grain. Therefore, dealing with Li Biao and his men will be much easier, as long as their safety is guaranteed.

So when things turned bad, they ran away.

As the vehicle drew closer, Ye's parents rushed over from the other side. Ye Yunyi organized their evacuation.

The 10 pheasant chicks they had painstakingly raised were still in the coop. They had to prepare for the worst, so they moved 8 of the 10 pheasants away, leaving 2 behind. If they were to break in, they could just sacrifice those two.

Ye Yunyi told her parents to make sure the pheasants were placed in the tunnel leading from Building 38 to the back mountain, so that they wouldn't make noise and reveal the location of Building 38.

They collected some important supplies. The car had arrived at the iron gate on the road behind Building 37.

"Damn it, they even installed an iron gate." Li Biao's voice rang out.

"Run them over," the male voice driving said.

"No, Brother Song, there's electricity," Li Biao advised. Seeing Song Ming's puzzled look, Li Biao quickly explained, "This family installed an electric fence; I suffered a great loss back then."

“Interesting, very interesting,” Song Ming exclaimed.

"Aren't you going to attack anymore?" a familiar yet sharp female voice rang out.

Ye Yunyi recognized the voice; it was Boss Zhong's wife. They had actually come back together.

It seems we really can't escape this fate.

"Keep your voice down, don't wake them up. Ye Yunyi is a very accurate archer," Li Biao said, still shaken by the incident where Ye Yunyi accidentally shot him in the thigh in the dark.

“What’s there to be afraid of? We’re all armed, so what if her archery skills are accurate? I’m going to kill her whole family to avenge my husband.”

"Everyone has a gun, and there are 6 vehicles, which means there are about 30 people. This battle will be tough," Ye Yunyi thought to herself.

Wang Zixiang overheard this as well, and this time he regretted it even more for giving the address to Boss Zhong.

What to do? Ye Yunyi dared not make a sound, but her mind never stopped racing. Fortunately, she had managed to move her parents, the child, and most of the supplies. But letting her and Wang Zixiang leave without resistance was unacceptable. She couldn't be so cowardly, and she couldn't let them get away with it.

Now that we have an electric grid, let's see what they plan to do. We'll deal with whatever comes our way.

"Shall we go for the attack tonight?" one of the henchmen asked.

“We need to get into the residential area first. There are so many zombies outside; it’s dangerous,” Song Ming said.

“Let’s go to my house first. Once inside, we can see what’s going on in their house, making it easier to attack,” Li Biao said, pointing to his house.

“Okay, let’s go then,” Song Ming decided.

So they backed up the car to where Li Biao's house was, threw out the flexible ladder, and climbed onto the roof of Li Biao's house.

They were well-trained and organized; some climbed the wall, others dealt with the approaching zombies, and still others retrieved items—all in a methodical manner. They made no noise whatsoever.

After retreating, Ye Yunyi could no longer hear their voices, but it gave them a chance to catch their breath.

"They'll definitely attack soon, what should we do?" Ye Yunyi asked.

"Don't worry, we'll hide in the shadows. If we can kill, we'll kill; if we can't, we'll retreat back into the tunnel and leave."

"Okay, if we have to escape, we have to drive out. We can't escape to Building 38 in Houshanhe, we can't expose Mom and Dad."

"Okay, then we'll drive to the front gate and go out."

Having agreed on their plan, Ye Yunyi and Wang Zixiang stood ready. Ye Yunyi carried a bow, her back covered in bamboo arrows, while Wang Zixiang was making bamboo arrows with a knife.

At this point, the more arrows the better. Besides arrows, they had no other weapons. They had to be on the second floor first. If they could break in, they would have to shoot down the attackers from the first floor to the parking area at the entrance. The whole way was dangerous.

Fortunately, they hadn't finished clearing the corn stalks from their yard, so they could still provide some cover. If all else failed, the lotus leaves in the pond had grown quite tall, so they could also cross over from there.

But the thought of these things being ruined by the bandits after they left filled Ye Yunyi with murderous intent.

About half an hour later, Ye Yunyi heard very faint footsteps; they had arrived.

Ye Yunyi and Wang Zixiang hid behind the curtains. Although Wang Zixiang's archery skills were not as good as Ye Yunyi's, he could still use arrows. They both held bows and covered for each other.

This time, they didn't enter through the main gate, but instead climbed up the wall closer to the road, hooking a flexible ladder onto the side of the wall without an electric fence. One person climbed up; their plan was to reach the un-electrified wall and then leap into the yard, thus avoiding contact with the electric fence and getting into the yard.

They are trained and have mastered the jumping technique, so they will not get injured at all.

Ye Yunyi stared intently at that spot. Although there was only faint starlight, she could still make out a rough outline.

As soon as the first person's head popped out of the wall, Ye Yunyi's arrow followed, and the person groaned and fell down.

"Damn it." Someone cursed. A low voice called out, "Xiao Jun, Xiao Jun, how are you?"

"He's dead," someone replied.

"Watch out, he might turn into a zombie!" someone else shouted.

That makes three people's voices. Adding the deceased Xiaojun, that makes a total of four, but there are definitely more than four.

"Brother Biao, what should we do? Is this woman's archery really that accurate?" The voice calling out to Xiao Jun clearly carried fear.

Just as they were wondering what to do, a gunshot rang out, and a hole was punched in Ye Yunyi's window. The gunshot landed just centimeters from where Ye Yunyi was standing.
