Soon, the RV drove into the premises of South China Agricultural University.
The school gate and other structures had long been submerged in water. The only buildings visible above water in the entire university area were student dormitories and a few laboratory buildings.
Hao Jianshe: "Go to the right, the red brick building is Laboratory Building No. 2. That's where the high-yield grain seeds are grown."
"Fortunately, the experimental area is on the top floor, where there is a separate power supply facility. The seeds in the low-temperature area should be well preserved. When the car door opened, the house automatically extended outward to form a one-meter docking platform.
"I'll go open the window first!" Qi Hao volunteered, hanging the nail gun behind him and picking up a hammer to go ahead. The windows of the laboratory building were locked from the inside. He smashed the glass in two or three hits, then cleaned up the broken glass around the edges, his movements swift.
Shi Man and Meng Xiaodao followed closely behind. When Hao Jianshe was about to get out of the car, Zhou Feifei pulled him aside and said quickly and quietly, "Teacher Hao, we all rely on Shi Man to survive. Outside, we must stand on the same front."
Hao Jianshe was a smart man and immediately understood what Zhou Feifei meant.
He nodded, but his heart felt heavy.
After the group entered the laboratory building, the RV's docking platform was retracted and the door closed.
Hao Jianshe had composed himself. He pushed his glasses and said, "Floors 3 to 6 are all experimental areas for students. They only have some basic equipment. The important specimens and seeds are kept on floors 7 and 8. We can just go up there."
"Sister Manman, Haozi and I will lead the way."
Shi Man nodded. She and Zhou Feifei walked at the back, while Hao Jianshe walked in the middle.
There was no elevator, so the group had to go up the stairs.
Just as they reached the fifth floor, they heard heavy footsteps coming from above.
Not surprisingly, the two groups met in the stairwell.
What caught the eyes of Shi Man and his companions was a group of college students wearing dirty lab coats, holding brooms or mops in their hands and with nervous faces. Oh, one of them, Xiu'er, was the most conspicuous. She was carrying a pesticide-spraying device on her back, and the spray nozzle in her hand was facing them.
"W-Who are you?"
"We're out of food here!!"
"Hey...you are...Mr. Hao?!"
