Chapter 21 Xiaoyanshan

In the afternoon, Mu Yunxi used two kilograms of brown sugar to exchange for a small stove from an aunt named Zhang in the village.

After Aunt Zhang's introduction, Mu Yunxi learned that this stove was made of yellow mud, sand, lime, and cement. The stove can not only burn firewood and charcoal, but also coal balls. It is very convenient and practical.

Aunt Zhang's son works in a brick furnace factory in the next village, so the family has no shortage of furnaces.

Aunt Zhang exchanged the stove for two kilograms of brown sugar and was so happy that she couldn't stop smiling. This was a good thing that was hard to buy even with money, and brown sugar tickets were very scarce.

Mu Yunxi was also very satisfied. This small stove was easy to move. She would go collect some firewood later and cook for herself in the evening.

The newly arrived educated youth have a day off today and don’t have to go to work.

Mu Yunxi, Jiang Bei, Liu Wenzhe and others planned to go to the mountain to collect more firewood in the afternoon. They would start work tomorrow and might not have time to go to the mountain.

Several people went directly up Xiaoyan Mountain from the back of the courtyard. Xiaoyan Mountain is composed of more than a dozen mountains with undulating peaks.

Looking into the distance, you can see clouds and mist all around. The clouds and mist all over the mountain seem to have covered the entire Xiaoyan Mountain with a layer of milky white gauze, just like a fairyland in a dream.

From a distance, the top of the mountain looks like a flying swallow, hence the name.

Deep in Xiaoyan Mountain is Dayan Mountain. Dayan Mountain is a steep mountain with many peaks. There are many dangers in the mountain. There are not only wild boars and poisonous snakes, but also man-eating beasts, wolves and tigers.

When the team leader introduced Dayan Mountain and Xiaoyan Mountain to them, he also specifically warned them that they could only go to Xiaoyan Mountain and that they were absolutely forbidden to go to Dayan Mountain!

When people in their village go hunting in winter, they have to bring wooden hunting rifles with them before they dare to go into Dayan Mountain. Even so, they may not be able to come back safely.

For ordinary people, going to Dayan Mountain is really like delivering food to the animals!

Mu Yunxi, Jiang Bei and others went up to Xiaoyan Mountain and began to collect firewood everywhere.

Along the way, Mu Yunxi saw many wild mushrooms, including white, yellow, and red ones. Unfortunately, she didn't know which mushrooms were non-toxic and edible, so she didn't pick any.

After the few people walked away, Mu Yunxi saw that there was no one around, so she took the opportunity to secretly put a lot of firewood into the space.

We also encountered many wild fruit trees on the way.

There are several wild kiwi vines, covered with densely packed kiwis. They are small and hard to the touch. It is estimated that it will take another half month for them to ripen.

On the trees near the kiwis, we also found many September yellow fruits. The September yellow vines were clinging to the branches, and the branches of the trees embraced the vines. The two were intertwined and symbiotic. It was truly a mysterious work of nature!!!

In addition to kiwis and September oranges, wild grapes and wild strawberries were also found, as well as several peach trees and bayberry trees.

Mu Yunxi collected a few of the fruit seedlings she found and put them into the space. She also picked all the ripe wild fruits and ate them while picking them. It must be said that these wild fruits tasted exceptionally good!

Mu Yunxi felt that she didn't need to eat dinner that night, as she had already eaten her fill of wild fruits along the way.

I put all the leftover fruits into the space, carried a large bundle of firewood I had picked up, and prepared to go back. The sun was about to set, and I was not familiar with the road here. It was difficult to walk on the road and it was difficult to tell the direction after dark.

Just as we reached halfway up the mountain, we met the two brothers Jiang Bei and Jiang Kai who were carrying firewood.
