Chapter 53 The Lady's Makeover
Rose was startled by the sudden shout.
Clutching her chest, she quickly backed away, whimpering, "Why did you suddenly yell at me? I was so scared, waaaaah~"
"Can you please not come out at night and scare people?" Su Yun clutched her chest, still shaken.
Rose whimpered, "No, I didn't. I just caught a rabbit so you could eat it." As she spoke, she held up the bloodied, lifeless rabbit with one hand, and chuckled sinisterly, "Time to eat the rabbit!"
The scene was too beautiful for Su Yun to bear.
If there is an afterlife, Su Yun will absolutely not, ever dress this idiot in a white dress again.
This isn't some fairy princess, it's clearly a midnight horror movie.
Later, Su Yun couldn't remember how she got rid of her. Because she was so frightened, Su Yun dreamed of being chased by a female ghost and hardly slept well all night.
After a night of torment.
With two huge dark circles under her eyes, Su Yun looked at the bright sunlight outside the window and resolved to put up the curtains as soon as possible!
Seeing someone standing outside the window in the middle of the night is really unbearable.
Oh, and we also need to reinforce the wall and plant some thorns and brambles so that these guys who like to climb over walls have nowhere to go.
So Su Yun decided to immediately go up the mountain to dig up thorns.
Having planned everything, Su Yun carried a bamboo basket on her back and took a small hoe as she went up the mountain.
Because she hadn't slept well, she was in very poor spirits, like a wilted cabbage. She was listless and barely spoke the rest of the way.
But somehow, Rose seemed to get all that energy from, following behind them with boundless enthusiasm early in the morning, asking, "Why are you digging these thorns up to take back? We can't eat them!"
When are you going to cook the rabbit heads?
"Can I have another egg? I'm so hungry, I'm not full at all..."
......
They chattered incessantly the whole way, which annoyed Su Yun to no end.
Su Yun: "I boiled ten eggs this morning. You ate five, Ye Feng ate three, and I only ate two. And now you're telling me you're still not full?!"
Rose pouted, "But I'm hungry!"
Su Yun was embarrassed: "Who told you to stay up in the middle of the night and go catch rabbits?"
Rose looked completely innocent: "It's hard to catch rabbits during the day, there are more at night. I've caught so many rabbits, why haven't you made me spicy rabbit heads yet?"
That makes sense. Rabbits are nocturnal animals, resting during the day and only becoming active in the forests after 10 p.m. So it's not unreasonable for Rose to go out and catch rabbits late at night. The only question is why she brought a dead rabbit back to her after catching it.
To let this guy experience the mental trauma he had suffered, Su Yun did not grant her request to eat spicy rabbit heads first thing in the morning.
Su Yun said coldly, "We'll talk about everything after I've cleared away all the thorns!"
The group entered the mountains in the morning light. The forest was full of thorny bushes, which could be dug up at will. These things are easy to grow and can survive anywhere.
Su Yun selected a few of the thickest thorn bushes. "Let's take this one. It's so long. We can just dig up some branches and plant them. In a few months, it'll grow into a whole patch. By next year, I guarantee nothing will be able to get in!"
Su Yun looked forward to a bright future and directed the night wind to dig through the thorns.
"Okay! Don't let them in." Night Wind was satisfied with this arrangement, nodded, and diligently dug through the thorns.
Rose showed no interest in the inedible thorns and squatted nearby for a while.
Then, after a while, whether out of boredom or a sudden inspiration, she started leaning against a tree trunk and flirting with the night breeze. She'd toss her long hair around and wink at the wind, saying things like, "Hey handsome, wanna hang out?"
One moment it's, "The sun is so big and bright today, just like my burning love for you."
One moment he'd lift his trouser leg, twist his hips, contorting himself into a bizarre S-shaped human pretzel, and exclaim with unwavering confidence, "Look! There's a gorgeous woman here!"
Su Yun was pleased to see the other person dressed in a classic red and green floral shirt and shorts.
Because she had been tormented by the "female ghost" in the white and red dresses, the first thing Su Yun did upon waking up was to make Rose obediently change out of the blood-stained, ominous dress and put on the bright red and green floral shorts and short-sleeved shirt that she had carefully prepared. The outfit looked very festive!
Yay! Mom won't have to worry about me being scared at night anymore!
Although Rose was extremely reluctant to say, "I don't want to wear this, I want to wear a dress."
To protect her fragile heart from further frights, Su Yun "kindly" coaxed, "This pattern is every handsome guy's favorite! Wear it, and you'll conquer that handsome guy today!"
Thanks to the husky's simple-mindedness—oh no, it's because of Su Yun's excellent guidance.
Rose changed into the clothes with some skepticism, then carefully twirled around, asking doubtfully, "Does it really look good?"
Su Yun's eyes were sincere, and her tone was earnest: "Wow! Rose, you are so beautiful! You look like a fairy descended from heaven! My goodness, I have never seen such a beautiful woman before!"
Rose's trust level reached 80%, and her eyes subtly lit up: "Really?"
Su Yun nodded vigorously without hesitation, using all her acting skills to exaggerate, "Rose, you look so beautiful! My God, how can there be such a pretty fairy!"
Rose was suddenly showered with compliments, so much so that she became dizzy and, under Su Yun's guidance, struck a pose reminiscent of Sister Feng.
I watched helplessly as the aloof fairy transformed into a village flower.
Su Yun almost choked on her own saliva. She tried her best to keep a straight face, forcing her facial muscles to tense up, and continued to praise her against her conscience, saying, "You are really too beautiful!"
The night breeze, unaware of the truth, passed by and saw the uniquely shaped rose. Its indifferent expression turned into slight surprise, and its eyes kept scanning the two people in the yard, as if searching for the answer: What are you doing?
Seeing the surprised look in Ye Feng's eyes, Rose's confident little expression cracked slightly. Su Yun hurriedly rushed over to salvage the situation, showering Rose with compliments: "Look at you today, even the handsome guys are amazed by you!"
He then clapped his hands loudly.
Night Breeze slowly formed a question mark, and asked Su Yun in a low voice with a puzzled look, "What are you guys doing?"
Su Yun quickly grabbed the other's sleeve and whispered where Rose couldn't see, "Shh, don't say anything, just clap along with me."
Although the night wind didn't understand why, it still cooperated and blew a few times under Su Yun's insistence.
As expected, it worked very well. Seeing the handsome guy clapping, Rose was like she had taken a stimulant. Her tail wagged excitedly, and she covered her face shyly, saying, "Hehe, I really do look good in anything!" Then she "shyly" ran to the mirror to admire herself.
Rose moved her battleground to the mirror, admiring herself in it with undiminished self-admiration, all the while indulging in her grand scheme of seduction, fantasizing wildly, "Hehehe, handsome little guy, here I come!"
Looking at Rose, who was full of confidence and eager to try, Su Yun silently mourned, "I'm sorry, baby, Mommy just can't take a scare, boohoo."
So now, facing Ye Feng, who was showing signs of collapse due to Rose's constant and frantic harassment, Su Yun felt that he bore a tiny bit of responsibility.
Rose plopped down on the ground with a "thud," falling shyly at Night Breeze's feet: "Oops, I fell down, is there anyone kind enough to help me up?"
Su Yun: "Is this some kind of large-scale staged accident scam?"
The night wind swept past without looking to either side.
Rose, still unwilling to give up, collapsed to the ground like an old corpse in the deep mountains, pleading, "Aren't you really going to come and take a look? Aren't I your little darling anymore?"
The night wind carried the bundled thorns further and further away.
Su Yun looked at Rose, who was still pretending to be dead on the ground: "Get up, the person is far away. You can't fake an accident like this~"
Rose closed her eyes and pretended to be dead, refusing to listen to the bastard's ramblings.
Su Yun couldn't bear to see a young girl lying like that in the wilderness. Touching his last shred of conscience, he kindly stepped forward and said, "There are insects on the ground."
Upon hearing the insect, Rose jumped up like a rabbit, frantically swatting at herself, "Where? Where?"
She had been bitten by a mutated insect from the mountains. Her hand swelled up with a huge bump, and she cried for three days, holding up her paw in pain.
After watching Rose convulse as if electrocuted for a long time, Su Yun calmly added, "Oh, it fell down and got stepped on and killed."
Rose retorted angrily, "You lied to me again!"
Su Yun: "I'm not lying to you, it's true. It just fell down, right under your feet. It was huge, and its tail was red."
"A poisonous insect with a red tail? The kind that leaves a festering sore on your skin after it crawls over you?" Rose was instantly terrified, her face turning pale. She darted seven or eight meters away, trembling. "I'm terrified of insects!"
"It's alright, you've already stepped on it to death." Su Yun said without changing his expression.
"Thank you for reminding me," Rose said gratefully, wagging her tail happily.
"No need to thank me, it's what I should do." Su Yun said with a righteous expression, then turned and left, concealing his merit and fame.
Carrying the thorny wood home, the night wind, unable to bear the harassment of the roses, had long since disappeared, leaving only Su Yun and Roses walking slowly behind.
Su Yun carried a thorny log, which was covered in thorns, so she walked very slowly to avoid getting pricked.
Rose seemed preoccupied and in low spirits, sighing all the way and occasionally reciting a few sentimental poems.
"Fish cannot see the tears of water, because fish live in water..."
"Sorrow is a part of love..."
......
Seeing the other person's melancholy expression, Su Yun finally couldn't help but stop and ask curiously, "By the way, do you know what love is?"
"What is love?" Rose blinked, looking completely bewildered.
"You don't even understand this, and you still want to find a partner?" Su Yun was shocked.
What does a partner have to do with love?
"Uh..." This question stumped Su Yun. "Theoretically speaking, only two people who love each other can become partners. Of course, there are also couples who don't love each other but get together for some reason... It's a complicated matter. But! A couple without love is definitely not an happy couple!"
"But—it's really uncomfortable to be without a partner! I feel terrible every time. My grandma said that I'll feel better once I find a partner, and that's what everyone says too."
Rose, with an innocent and naive look on her face, casually chewed on a foxtail grass.
