Chapter 70 Tea Trees and Farewell
Su Yun only briefly mentioned the tea to Ye Feng.
A few days later, I completely forgot about it, but unexpectedly, Yefeng actually found the tea leaves.
Looking at the several tea trees that had suddenly appeared in the yard, Su Yun was a little surprised. "Ah, they're tea trees! How did you find them? I've never seen them before."
Before Su Yun got up, Ye Feng planted the tea tree she had found next to the wall in the backyard. Su Yun saw it when she got up early in the morning to water the vegetables.
Three tea trees stood side by side in the corner, their branches and leaves lush and verdant.
“I asked Rose; she’s seen the tea tree, and she told me.” Night Breeze swished its tail, a hint of pride in its voice.
Ah, roses?
This guy is so unreliable, how can he accurately describe what tea leaves look like? And there are so many similar ones. Su Yun looked at his hands and feet, which were covered with fine grass clippings and dirt.
It's obvious they've traveled a long way.
But the night winds said nothing; they simply prepared the tea bushes before she woke up from her sleep, waiting for her to discover them.
Su Yun felt a sudden tenderness in her heart and smiled, "That's really wonderful."
The human girl smiled slightly, her eyes curving into two crescent moons, and said sweetly, "Thank you, Night Breeze."
The night breeze gently swayed its tail, looking at the girl with eyes full of doting affection, "I'm glad you like it."
In fact, even Rose couldn't quite describe what a tea tree looks like: "It's green and shiny, with pointed buds. It smells very fragrant and tastes a little bitter, but then it becomes a little sweet."
The description is not very clear.
Night Wind had no choice but to follow the information provided by Rose, breaking off piles and bundles of possible branches and bringing them back to Rose for identification until it found them.
He crossed many mountains, and although it took a lot of effort, seeing her smile made it all worthwhile.
He thought to himself.
According to Ye Feng's description, there is a large area of tea trees like this on another hill in the orchard. Su Yun was wondering whether he should ride his tricycle over there and pick more tea leaves.
The sky suddenly darkened, and the air became muggy. I looked at the dark clouds floating over the distant mountains.
Su Yun: "It's about to rain."
Night Breeze: "Hmm, shall I take the clothes back?"
So the two of them busied themselves tidying up the various things that had been drying.
Sure enough, half an hour later, the wind picked up, the leaves rustled and swayed, and the distant dark cloud finally drifted over to them, bringing with it the first rain of summer.
The rainy season of summer has finally arrived, and the scorching heat of the past ten days has been washed away by the sudden rain.
The withered trees were revitalized by the rain, and even the distant mountains seemed to be reawakened.
Su Yun was leaning against the doorway, sipping freshly brewed all-natural green tea, marveling at how timely the rain was.
Suddenly, a soaking wet figure ran in from outside. Rose was catching rabbits outside when a sudden downpour soaked her through.
She didn't like being wet, so she didn't even care about the rabbit and rushed home in the rain, getting soaked to the bone the whole way.
"Oh, did you come back from swimming?" Su Yun teased, looking at the other person who was all wet.
Rose pouted: "No, it just started raining suddenly, and there was nowhere to take shelter from the rain."
The rain was getting heavier and heavier. Rose didn't like being all wet, so she changed her clothes and joined the group of people "drinking tea and enjoying the rain" under the eaves.
Freshly brewed green tea has a naturally astringent taste; you have to savor it slowly to taste the subtle sweetness that follows.
Su Yun really liked the subtle bitterness followed by a sweet aftertaste, so she replaced all the tea on the table with this green tea.
Rose didn't like the bitter taste; she drank peach juice instead.
Ye Feng quite liked it and drank green tea with her, slowly savoring the fragrance of the tea leaves.
It rained for several days in a row. Taking advantage of the rainy season, Ye Feng Su Yun quickly planted the cultivated rice seedlings into the paddy fields. She also replanted a lot of vegetables, including cabbage, mustard greens, and newly discovered eggplants, radishes, and gourds.
But Rose, having nowhere to go because of the rain, spent her days idly. Finally, one day, gazing at the rain-soaked sky, she murmured softly, "Ah, I miss my master..."
Su Yun thought to herself, "This guy finally remembered!" Seeing that the other party was out of heat, she thought he would pack his bags and embark on a journey to find his master again. Unexpectedly, this guy went up the mountain to catch rabbits and down the field to pick wildflowers, running around wildly and having a great time. Finally, on a rainy afternoon when he couldn't go out, he was bored and remembered his original purpose.
A moment of silence followed.
Rose murmured softly, "I'm going to find him!"
Su Yun asked in surprise, "Huh? Are you going back to the city we visited before?"
Rose shook her head, looking innocent: "No, Rose wants to go back to the capital, she wants to eat rabbit heads!"
"Chongdu is quite a distance, it might take a long time to walk there. Hey, wait a minute, weren't we supposed to be going to find our master? How did it turn into going to eat rabbit heads? There shouldn't be any rabbit heads left over there, right?" Su Yun pondered, resting his chin on his hand.
"It will definitely happen!" Rose clenched her fist with confidence, her eyes shining, as if the rabbit head was already beckoning to her.
Su Yun wanted to say something more, but in the end she held back. This guy... never mind, eating something delicious is the main thing, having fun is secondary, and finding the master is the last thing.
Su Yun was already used to it.
Looking at Rose's excited face, Su Yun sighed softly, "Then be careful on your journey. Don't eat anything you don't recognize, and don't get scammed by people with ill intentions. Protect yourself."
“No way! Rose can knock them all down with one punch.” As she spoke, she raised her fist, which was as big as a casserole dish.
Su Yun almost forgot that the slender, long-legged mature woman in front of him was also a girl with superhuman strength. Although her fists didn't look much bigger than his, their destructive power was many times stronger than his own weakling strength.
Even so, Su Yun couldn't help but remind him, "You absolutely must be careful."
Although Rose was unreliable, she was surprisingly a woman of action. Once she decided to go find her owner, she made up her mind, put her little red dress back on, and happily embarked on her journey.
On the day of departure, the rain had not yet stopped, and a light drizzle was still falling. Su Yun originally wanted to persuade Rose to stay a few more days.
Rose, however, was captivated by the image of Rabbit Head in the distant city. "I have to go now," she said. "My master and Rabbit Head are still waiting for me. Su Yun, Night Breeze, you don't need to see me off."
Su Yun suppressed the urge to roll her eyes and handed the small cloth bag she had prepared to the other person. Inside was a bag full of dried meat, dried mango, and dried peaches. "It's because you don't know the way. I was afraid you would get lost again."
As it turns out, the husky was indeed unreliable. Before setting off, Su Yun repeatedly reminded him to follow the road signs, but when it came time to leave, without her noticing, the husky went off into the deep mountains on its own. At this rate, it would probably be wandering around in the mountains until winter, and it wouldn't be until the following year. This wasn't unprecedented.
"Do you remember how to deduplicate the steps?" Su Yun checked one last time before leaving.
Rose nodded and said, "I know, just follow the signs, look at the stars, and keep walking to the left of the brightest star, and you'll get there!"
"You knew I was in that situation, why did you still go to the mountains?"
"There was such a big and beautiful butterfly, I wanted to catch it." Rose scratched her head, "Unfortunately, it flew too high, I couldn't catch it."
Judging from their tone, the other party seemed quite regretful.
Su Yun was speechless. Faced with this unreliable husky, she could only continue to warn it: "Don't run into the mountains to chase after unnecessary small animals. Be careful you don't end up like last time and get stuck!"
"I know! Roses follow the stars!"
"May you find your master safely and successfully. I wish you a reunion with him."
Although the hope was slim, Su Yun still sent his sincerest wishes.
Rose clenched her little fist, her eyes filled with hope: "I will! And I wish you and Night Breeze a lifetime of happiness together!"
Hearing that Rose had come again, Su Yun was extremely embarrassed: "I already said no!"
Previously, Rose was in a special period and was being tormented, so the other party wouldn't listen to anything she said.
After the special period passed, Rose no longer cared about these things. Now that they've been brought up again, Su Yun felt it was necessary to explain again. So she went up and whispered in her ear, explaining carefully that she and Ye Feng were innocent.
Rose, however, maintained her cheerful demeanor: "I don't believe it, I don't want to hear it, I don't know... hehehe."
In her opinion, Su Yun was blinded by his own feelings; they were clearly two people who liked each other.
"Although orcs rarely associate with humans under normal circumstances, I still wish you all the best."
"Huh?" Su Yun was confused: "What—what does this mean? Why are we rarely together? Oh, no, no, we don't!"
"It means exactly what it says." Rose winked, made a mischievous face, and dashed off. "You'll see later, goodbye~"
"You ran off before you even finished speaking! That's so unfair of you! Hey!"
Rose ignored her and dashed off, waving goodbye with a flourish.
Su Yun was left on her way back with a conflicted expression, completely puzzled. She would find out what it meant to "rarely see each other."
Why did you run off halfway through your sentence?
This is very worrying!
Su Yun turned to look at Ye Feng, his face conflicted. He saw that the other person was still oblivious, walking along while picking up many small snails that had emerged from the grass after the rain. This was something Su Yun had taught him. Snails eat grass and vegetables, and many would emerge in the vegetable garden and fields after the rain. If they caught them, they could take them back to feed the ducks. Recently, they had raised three wild ducks by their pond, which would be perfect feed.
Seeing the other person still carefree picking up snails, Su Yun was full of questions and couldn't help but ask, "Night Wind, what did Rose mean by that? Do you know? Humans really rarely associate with beastmen?"
Night Breeze stopped what he was doing, tilted his head to look at her, and said, "I've never heard of that."
Su Yun: "Oh, I see. You didn't know either? Is it because you haven't met enough people that you don't know?"
What could be the reason? Could it be inappropriate? Or is it not allowed?
Su Yun looked worried as she considered many possible reasons. Her brows were furrowed, and she sighed from time to time.
The night breeze slowly walked to her side and gently asked, "Su Yun, are you worried about us?"
"Huh?" Su Yun was taken aback when she heard this, and then slowly came to her senses. What was she thinking about?
They're not officially together yet. They agreed to wait, so why am I starting to worry now?
Su Yun stared wide-eyed in surprise, speechless.
She looked slightly stunned, her eyes wide open, and her cheeks slightly flushed.
Night Breeze smiled slightly and looked down at her.
In the fields washed clean by the rain, the boy's hair was blown by the mountain breeze, revealing his smooth forehead and bright eyes. He looked down at the girl and said with certainty, "I think there's no problem between us. We can definitely become a happy couple."
The gentle young man's eyes were firm, and his tone was gentle, causing Su Yun's face to flush red again, much to her dismay.
Okay, okay. You're so handsome, whatever you say is right.
