Chapter 74 Plans and Reality

Chapter 74 Plans and Reality

Su Yun smiled, pretending to be relaxed, and ran off with light steps.

In fact, Su Yun was very nervous. This was her first time officially facing a human opponent, but!

For the sake of those two pitiful little figures, Su Yun decided to bravely step forward, believe in herself, believe in herself, and unleash her Oscar-worthy acting skills.

She took a deep breath, staggered out of the alley, then slipped and fell to the ground, letting out a soft "Ah!"

"What's that sound?" The man who was warming himself by the fire turned around when he heard the sound.

A pretty, delicate-looking girl was sitting on the ground, clutching her foot. She looked up at them with surprise and fear, and exclaimed, "Why is someone here?"

The girl seemed to have just happened to be passing by, completely unaware that anyone was there.

"Hey, where did this chick come from all of a sudden?" one of the men said.

Another chimed in, "Hey, this girl's got some good looks! Shall we go check her out?"

"It came automatically? Hehe, we guys were bored, let's go check it out!"

The two men then exchanged glances, their thoughts unspoken.

Su Yun clutched her foot, "struggled" to her feet, and staggered back into the alley, her expression a mixture of panic and forced "bluff."

"No, no, I was just passing by, don't come any closer! Get lost!"

Su Yun tried hard to control her expression. She was genuinely scared and a little flustered, so it was basically a natural performance. Her acting was realistic, but the effect wasn't quite perfect...

Because only two of them came over.

Beside the fire, one man remained, clutching his dagger, standing guard, and coldly said, "Be careful, don't delay things!"

The two men picked up their knives, stood up, and walked towards Su Yun, gesturing, "No, we'll take care of her soon!"

There are only two people!

What about the night wind?

There was no other way; if he didn't run now, it would be too late. Seeing the two about to catch up, Su Yun turned and ran...

"Hey little girl, where have you been? I see your foot's injured, let's take a good look at it."

"Get lost! Don't follow me!" Su Yun dragged his feet and staggered as he fled along the predetermined route.

"Don't run away! Wait for us, brothers!"

"Let your brother take a good look at your body to see if you're injured...hehehe..." The two men continued to approach, their bodies bulging.

Su Yun staggered for a while, trying to "lure" the other party to follow. Then, when the other party was about to catch up, she pretended to be exhausted and hurriedly ran into the building.

Su Yun entered the building and immediately ran away. She hadn't dared to run too fast before, fearing that the two would give up on chasing her and go back to cause trouble for Ye Feng.

But if you run too slowly, you'll easily get caught.

Su Yun's heart pounded, and the more panicked and frightened she looked, the less careful the other party became.

"Hey, this girl really knows how to pick a place. She even picked a room for herself. Let's go up and take a look." The two men noticed Su Yun's slender figure and the obvious fear on her pretty face.

It's just a delicious, fat sheep with nowhere to escape.

"It's been so long since I've tasted a woman's flavor, I absolutely can't let her get away!"

"Of course!" The two men, blinded by lust, followed him without thinking.

Su Yun rushed upstairs, ran into the room she had planned to enter, closed the door, climbed onto the pre-built plank to another building, and hurriedly made her escape.

Finally, Su Yun quickly removed the wooden planks, and seeing the two people still wandering aimlessly in the original building, she quietly escaped to the other side of the building.

Su Yun ran a distance, then leaned against the wall for a few seconds, her legs feeling weak, to calm her racing heart. "I wonder how Ye Feng is doing. There's still someone left there." Su Yun didn't have time to rest much, and worriedly took another route back. Before she even reached the square, she saw a patch of fire on it, as if it were on fire.

Su Yun peeked out from the corner and saw the man who had stayed behind cursing as he put out the fire. Under the streetlight, ropes were scattered, and the little lizard people had been rescued.

Could it be that they succeeded?

Su Yun was overjoyed, then turned around and ran to the place she had agreed to meet with Ye Feng.

However, after more than twenty minutes of anxious waiting...

Finally, at the end of the road, I saw the figure I had been eagerly waiting for.

Su Yun disregarded her need to conceal herself and rushed forward, asking with concern, "Are you alright?"

Night Breeze shook its head, looking the person in front of it up and down. "I'm fine. How about you?"

Su Yun: "I ran away a long time ago, but then I saw that the people hadn't been completely lured away, so I was worried about you and went back... but I couldn't find you. I thought you had come over, so I rushed over here on my own."

"Me too... I came to find you after I finished dealing with things at the square."

"Ah, no wonder I didn't see you." Su Yun was slightly surprised, not expecting that the two of them had thought of the same thing and had gone to help each other after escaping danger. "Did you rescue the children?"

Night Breeze nodded. "They've been rescued."

Su Yun: "Why haven't I seen anyone?"

"But I didn't save them. I couldn't find a way to distract him, so I had to go straight for them. I wanted to finish them off, but he was armed... I couldn't... The two of us struggled for a while, and then suddenly the car caught fire, the square was filled with smoke, and zombies suddenly rushed out. The square was in chaos. By the time I tried to take advantage of the chaos to save them, they had already been rescued..."

"Huh? Who is it?"

"The woman I saw before."

"Oh, she just gave birth... what's wrong?"

“I walked several blocks and followed them. As you instructed, I asked the two of them if they wanted to come with us, but they shook their heads and refused. Then they caught up with that strange woman, and in the end, they left together.” Ye Feng slowly recounted what had happened on his side.

"Okay, I see. Anyway, it's good that everyone is alright."

The matter was finally resolved satisfactorily. However, Su Yun found it hard to imagine how a woman who had just given birth and was weak could have accomplished all of this... The power of a person is truly immeasurable.

Su Yun sighed deeply. Sigh…

Now that they've left, it will be incredibly difficult for a weak woman and two young orcs to survive in this zombie-infested city. But... it's their choice, and Su Yun has no right to interfere. Now that they've rescued the people and done what needed to be done, it's time for them to set off.

The next day, just as dawn was breaking, they went to the small vegetable market again. There was no one there anymore. Although most of the useful things had been taken away by that group, Su Yun still managed to find quite a few useful items after a careful search: vegetable seeds scattered on the ground, lighters, yeast, salt, and so on left in the corners. Taking advantage of the time before dawn, Su Yun and Ye Feng carried away a lot more things, in addition to the hardware and supplies they had collected earlier.

The two of them loaded their electric tricycle and human-powered tricycle almost to the brim before setting off on their return journey.

The two rode their bikes along the road, slowly driving away from the city.

As they approached the outskirts of the city, Su Yun, riding his tricycle, saw that familiar figure again—the thin woman.

She was bending down, rummaging through the flowerbeds by the roadside, looking for something. Two little boys were also squatting in nearby flowerbeds, looking for something too, their little tails wagging cutely.

A few minutes later, the smaller boy seemed to have finally found something. He held it in his hand, ran excitedly to her, and handed it to her.

She looked at the little boy who suddenly ran over, seemed slightly surprised, then calmly took the gift, divided it into two pieces, and returned it to the little boy.

The little boy shook his head, refused, and then ran away.

Then, with a calm expression, she placed the portion into the hands of the little boy at her feet.

As Su Yun's car slowly approached, the group of people on the other side tensed up upon hearing the sound of the vehicle. The two little boys immediately dropped what they were holding and gathered around the woman, blocking her frail body. Their eyes suddenly turned cold and sharp.

He turned around to protect the woman and make their escape.

"Hey!" Su Yun waved and couldn't help but call out, "It's me."

So, the three of them stopped abruptly halfway down and turned to stare at her.

The night breeze stopped and moved to Su Yun's side.

The thin woman turned around and looked at the two people who had suddenly appeared. Her eyes were devoid of emotion. She only moved a little and silently stared at the two people, like a withered and rotten tree.

This was the first time Su Yun had been looked at like this, and she felt a little scared. Afraid that the other person wouldn't recognize her, she added, "The one I met in the alley that day."

The little lizard boy hiding behind her peeked out and seemed to recognize Su Yun. He looked up at the woman and made two "ya ya" sounds.

"If you don't understand, don't yell." The woman reached out and shoved him back at her expressionlessly.

The other little lizard boy looked up at Su Yun a few times, his eyes bright. He took a step forward, just about to say something.

The woman spoke first: "Is there something you need?"

Su Yun smiled, trying to appear friendly: "My name is Su Yun, and this is Ye Feng. We came from the south. We mean you no harm. We came to Hongdu to collect supplies and are heading back now. I didn't expect to see you on the way back. It's so good to see you're all alright..."

Actually, Su Yun deliberately passed by this area. She specifically asked Ye Feng which direction the other person had left in, asking him to search for their traces in the air, all for the sake of—

There's something I want to say to the other person.

The woman looked at her with empty, wooden eyes. She interrupted Su Yun in a cold tone: "You can say whatever you want to say."

"Huh? Oh, oh, oh—but I still don't know your name." Su Yun was a little stunned.

"My name is Ye Yu." The woman remained silent for a while before finally uttering those two words in a low voice.
