Chapter 21 The Story of Education

Chapter 21 The Story of Education

After a few days of leisurely eating and sleeping.

The rainy season has finally arrived.

The first spring rain, carrying a hint of coolness, fell along the vast sky, making the boundless world seem as if a giant pearl curtain had been hung.

The withered grass, dormant all winter, was washed by the falling rain, revealing a fresh green hue. That tender green stretched its slender body, stretching, growing, and welcoming the gifts of spring.

As the falling rainwater gathers along the blue tiles, it drips onto the blue stone steps in front of the door.

Su Yun, who was taking a nap in bed, woke up. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and looked out the window. Outside, a curtain of raindrops formed a beaded curtain across the window frame, blocking out the sky, the mountains, and the soft clouds. Everything seemed to be isolated, hazy and indistinct.

Su Yun stared blankly at the scenery outside the window and murmured softly, "Ah, it's raining."

"

After staring blankly at the rainy scene for a few seconds, she muttered in a daze, "It seems a bit chilly."

As she spoke, she groggily tugged at the blanket a few times, pulling it tighter around her exposed toes. After securing herself in the warm quilt, Su Yun hugged it and looked around for a few more minutes before belatedly realizing, "Ah! The clothes haven't been brought in yet!" And there were the dried bamboo shoots, herbs, and dried meat hanging out to dry…

Su Yun's groggy mind snapped awake. She sat bolt upright, slipping on her slippers and struggling to move outside, exclaiming, "Ahhh! I forgot to bring in the laundry..."

I didn't expect to run into Ye Feng, who had just returned from collecting the laundry, as soon as I reached the door of my room.

The two bumped into each other right at the doorway. Su Yun almost fell headfirst into the other person's arms and hugged him tightly, as if she were about to throw herself into his arms.

Su Yun quickly took a step back, blushing slightly at her own overthinking.

Ye Feng initially didn't react, as she hadn't actually bumped into him. However, her sudden backward movement surprised him. "What's wrong? Did I scare you?"

Su Yun was even more embarrassed. She gave a dry laugh and weakly explained, "I was in a hurry to collect the clothes and almost bumped into you. I'm sorry."

Hearing Su Yun's explanation, Ye Feng didn't react in any particular way. He suppressed his surprise, since he was only startled by Su Yun's sudden appearance anyway. When Su Yun said she was going to collect the clothes, he gestured for Su Yun to look at the bamboo sofa.

Su Yun turned to look and discovered that Ye Feng had already collected all the clothes and herbs and arranged them neatly.

The main room was now filled to the brim with all sorts of winnowing baskets, and neatly folded clothes...

Su Yun's mouth formed an "O" in surprise, and then she showered the kitten, who was proudly puffing out its chest and waiting for praise, with compliments: "Ah! Night Breeze, you've already brought in all the clothes and things! So fast! You're amazing! Not a drop of rain got you wet!"

"Thank goodness you remembered, otherwise these things would have gone moldy!"

"You didn't get wet at all, Night Breeze, you're amazing!"

She finished praising the night breeze with a smile, and the kitten's ears stood up straight with joy, its tail swishing back and forth, looking very happy.

After praising her for a while, Su Yun suddenly felt a bit thirsty and was about to move over to the octagonal table to pour herself a glass of warm water.

Unexpectedly, Ye Feng suddenly became unhappy. The kitten's ears drooped slightly, its brow furrowed, and it stared displeasedly at its sprained ankle, saying in a low voice, "Didn't I tell you not to move around before your ankle is healed?"

Ye Feng frowned slightly. There had been too many things going on lately, and Su Yun was always dragging her injured foot around. Her sprained ankle was slow to heal. After finally lying down for a few days, the swelling in her ankle had subsided a little, and then she was seen dragging her injured foot out of bed again.

"I thought the clothes were confiscated. I was worried..." Su Yun stuck out her tongue, slightly bypassing the mountain blocking her way, trying to get away with it by being cute. "Since I'm already up, I'll go get a glass of water first, and then go back to lying down later."

Night Breeze noticed her intention and stepped aside to stop Su Yun from fidgeting. "I'll help you pour it out later. The dried bamboo shoots and clothes are all packed away now. Go back and lie down."

As he spoke, he naturally leaned forward, bent down slightly, and effortlessly picked her up in his arms.

Su Yun was caught off guard and lifted into the air. Because Ye Feng was tall and long and quite high off the ground, Su Yun was unprepared. Afraid of falling, she could only cling tightly to Ye Feng, almost burying herself in his chest.

Su Yun's face was pressed against the other person's chest, and she could even feel the strong muscles under the thin shirt gently rubbing against her face, so her face immediately turned red.

Wait a minute, isn't this pose a little too intimate?

Su Yun was inwardly opposed to it.

In her panic, she cried out and repeatedly refused, "No need, no need, I can walk this short distance by myself."

Ye Feng looked back at her with innocent eyes, his gaze clear yet slightly bewildered: "Why do you have to walk by yourself? Your foot isn't healed yet."

Since the last time she was injured, Ye Feng had carried her all the way back. In the past few days, when her foot injury had not healed and she was unable to move easily, Ye Feng had carried her in and out quite often, and it had become a habit. When Su Yun suddenly suggested that she walk by herself, Ye Feng found it strange. He looked at her with an innocent and blank expression. His clear eyes reflected the water outside the window, and they were moist, as if he was about to cry. This pure and innocent expression and clear eyes were condemning his conscience.

Hey, hey, hey, what are you thinking about?

They were just being kind by telling you to walk less so you could recover properly.

But you're thinking about all sorts of random things.

Although Ye Feng didn't speak, his eyes held a puzzled look, as if to say, "Did I do something wrong?"

Looking at the kitten's hurt eyes and its increasingly droopy ears, Su Yun sighed inwardly. Then, she could only reach out and hug the kitten's neck, resignedly embracing it, and explained considerately, "I was just worried that you were too tired."

Upon hearing her words, Night Breeze's dejected expression suddenly changed, her eyes lit up, and even her tail couldn't help but wag slightly. "I'm not tired. Let me carry you over."

As he spoke, he wrapped his arms tightly around Su Yun's arm, his movements gentle, as if he were holding a rare treasure, and lifted her up and gently placed her on the bed.

Su Yun was gently carried by the night breeze, struggling one last time, trying to adjust her expression.

She tried hard to suppress her blushing and racing heart.

As long as I have a good mindset, I won't fall in love with my cat.

Stay calm, don't panic, it's not a big problem.

After sleeping for several days, Su Yun finally woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. Bored, she hugged her blanket and listened to the rain outside the window, then glanced at the night wind, which was also wide awake.

After thinking it over, Su Yun decided that since she had some time, she should give the kitten a proper lesson, covering things like common sense and human emotions. Otherwise, she would seem like a pervert with a weird and filthy mindset towards the ignorant kitten.

No, no, she won't allow that!

She is clearly a model citizen, an upright and honest young person, and she would never do anything like cheating or swindling a kitten.

So she decided to subtly educate the kitten.

But where to begin?

Now that there are no books or videos, she can't say things too bluntly.

Sigh, this is really difficult.

After much deliberation, Su Yun decided to use the most basic method: she decided to start telling stories to Ye Feng.

So she turned to Ye Feng and suggested, "Um, Ye Feng, would you like to hear a story?"

"What story?" Ye Feng withdrew his gaze from the water droplets on the eaves and looked at Su Yun, his eyes reflecting the clear, watery light.

"It's a story from my hometown."

Night Breeze realized, oh, a story... it seems like his teacher told him one before... He loved listening to stories, so he responded softly, "Okay!"

Looking at the eyes that were slightly lit by the night breeze, they seemed very expectant.

After some thought, Su Yun considered all the stories she had heard and read since childhood. She decided to tell him the story of the Little Mermaid first. It was a good story; it had humans, beastmen (the Little Mermaid), and love. Most importantly…

Ahem, it's still about the love between orcs and humans. It's easy to understand and perfect for the knowledge that Ye Feng urgently needs to grasp right now. It's the ideal teaching material for the current situation.

"I'm such a clever little devil," Su Yun couldn't help but praise himself for his wit.

So, under the expectant gaze of the night wind, Su Yun slowly took a sip of tea, moistened his throat, and cleared his voice, saying, "A long, long time ago, in the distant sea, lived a group of beautiful mermaids."

Then the story encountered a setback right from the start, and Ye Feng showed a very bewildered expression.

Su Yun believed that education was a process of constantly answering questions and resolving doubts, so she stopped again and tried her best to explain: "Uh, a mermaid, you know, is someone whose lower body is a fish and whose upper body is like a human." Afraid that Ye Feng wouldn't understand, Su Yun even rolled up her legs with the blanket and flapped her tail sillyly, imitating him.

Unexpectedly, Ye Feng was delighted and said, "Ah, I know that. I've seen it before, but not in the sea, it was in a river. I don't quite understand, what is the sea?"

"Ah? So it wasn't that I didn't understand mermaids, it was the sea. The sea is a body of water that's bigger and wider than a river..." Su Yun explained subconsciously, then after several seconds it took her to realize, wait a minute... something seems wrong. Then Su Yun looked at Ye Feng in astonishment and exclaimed, "What? There really are mermaids?"

Night Breeze was puzzled this time. "Didn't you say it was a mermaid story? Of course it is."

"Hey! No, that's not it. My story is just a story... Hey, no, the point is, are there really mermaids in the river? Have you seen them?" Su Yun almost jumped up.

“Yes! Of course I’ve seen it.” Night Breeze replied without hesitation.

"Huh? What does it look like? Is it beautiful?" Su Yun immediately became excited. He never expected that there were actually mermaids in this world, a species that originally only appeared in mythology.

Ye Feng looked thoughtful as he tried to recall the scene when he first saw the mermaid. The mermaid, with her graceful figure and golden tail, swam lightly in the river under the sunlight. The golden tail reflected the shimmering waves in the sunlight, free and unrestrained, like a flower blooming freely in the water. She was beautiful and breathtaking.

Night Breeze nodded affirmatively and replied, "It's very beautiful, with a long, golden tail that's very attractive."

"Oh, so there really are! I really want to see them with my own eyes! Are there any around here?"

“There aren’t any around here,” Ye Feng said decisively.

"All right."

This time it was Su Yun's turn to be frustrated. There were no mermaids nearby, which meant she couldn't see this legendary creature.

I'm curious, I want to see!

Seeing Su Yun's sullen expression.

Night Wind looked at Su Yun with some confusion and slowly said, "Mermaids are very beautiful, but they are also very fierce. Their claws are sharp, and their teeth are very pointed. If you get close to the water, you can easily be caught by the slime shot from their hands and dragged into the water to drown. I've seen many of them. They were all attracted by the mermaids' beauty, got close to the water, and then were dragged into the water and drowned... In the end, they were all eaten..."

After listening to what Ye Feng said.

This time it was Su Yun's turn to be surprised. Her mouth was slightly open, and she couldn't speak for a long time. Finally, she weakly managed to say, "Is...mermaid really that scary?"

Night Breeze nodded firmly, "Yes, mermaids can confuse their prey, which is very dangerous."

"Alright." Hearing this, Su Yun slightly relinquished his desire to see the mermaid, but...

A spark of curiosity still flickered within her.

Since it's so dangerous, it's best to stand far away and just take a look.
