Chapter 109 Ambitious Ambition

Composing themselves, the Chen family continued on their way. They hurried to a fork in the road and saw a convoy of cars ahead on the left. The Chen family's lead car immediately gave chase.

When they got closer, they followed at the back of the car. Everyone in the car thought they had caught up with the original convoy and breathed a sigh of relief.

When they stopped to rest in the evening, the security team leader approached Jin Kaixiong and said with a troubled expression, "Boss, we must have followed the wrong team. This team looks unfamiliar to me. The security team they brought looks pretty fierce. They seem to have a powerful background."

Jin Kaixiong was also startled and turned to look at Chen Ziyue beside him. Chen Ziyue asked the captain, "How fierce was it? What did you see?"

"Judging from their equipment and appearance, some of them seem to be privately hired special bodyguards, and there are at least a couple hundred of them just from what I've seen. I wonder if their boss is easy to deal with. If he's domineering, it might not be a good idea for us to follow him," the security captain said, expressing his opinion.

Chen Ziyue nodded: "You should inform everyone to get on the bus after they've finished eating. We'll turn back and take another route, avoiding any contact with them."

Seeing that Jin Kaixiong had no objections, the security captain went to make the arrangements as Chen Ziyue had instructed.

Before they could even leave, a group of people walked towards them. When they got closer, Chen Ziyue and Jin Kaixiong realized that the person leading them was a refined old gentleman. He looked kind and respectable and had a strong leadership presence, unlike the fierce person they had imagined.

The elderly gentleman in the lead was followed by eight other men, six of whom looked quite sturdy and tall, while the other two, who appeared to be rather frail, seemed to be his assistants.

The old gentleman smiled warmly and sincerely: "In such difficult times, to meet fellow sufferers is truly heartwarming and joyful. I wonder where Mr. Jin and his wife plan to go for refuge? If you are going the same way, we can help each other on our journey and take care of each other."

Jin Kaixiong and his wife remained silent for a moment, seemingly indicating that the other party had already ascertained most of their situation.

The old gentleman continued, “I apologize for my abruptness. It’s been a long time since I’ve been back to China, and now that I’m back, I’m facing such a turbulent time, so I can’t help but feel a bit emotional. Please allow me to introduce myself again. My surname is Qin, and my given name is Lisen. I used to live and do business abroad, but now I have to return to China to seek refuge, which is quite shameful! I heard that Mr. and Mrs. Jin are also looking for refuge, so I took the liberty of thinking that since we are all on the same journey, we could get to know each other and help each other out.”

Jin Kaixiong then asked, "I wonder where Mr. Qin plans to move to? We were originally with a large migration group, but we were delayed on the way and fell behind. I wonder if Mr. Qin saw which direction the group went on the way?"

Mr. Qin was somewhat surprised to hear this: "We didn't see that. We took in some disaster victims along the way, but we didn't encounter the large group that Mr. Jin mentioned. It's probably on another road."

"I'm really sorry, we're not going the same way. Mr. Qin, please make yourselves at home. We'll be leaving soon after we've finished packing." Chen Ziyue spoke before her husband, after hearing Mr. Qin's words.

Mr. Qin smiled gently and said, "Our convoy is heading to N City. I heard that shelters are being built there. The weather is starting to get colder, and I heard it will get very cold later. N City is currently controlled by the Jian and Zuo families, two powerful clans, and the government has provided some support. I think it's a very good place to go right now. If Mr. Jin doesn't catch up with the convoy, he can also consider going to N City for refuge."

This was the first time Chen Ziyue and the others had heard this news. They exchanged glances, and Chen Ziyue asked, "Is the Zuo family that Mr. Qin mentioned the one in charge of the Revolver Group in City B?"

Mr. Qin smiled and said, "Indeed, they can be said to have taken a good step ahead by following the Jian family this time. I wonder if I, Qin, will receive any preferential treatment when I bring supplies to seek refuge?"

"Big sister, Zhizhi is definitely with the Zuo family. Why don't we go to her place and have a family reunion?" Chen Niansheng whispered to Chen Ziyue.

Chen Ziyue had the same idea. She exchanged a glance with her husband, then smiled at Mr. Qin and said, "It's quite a coincidence. My brother and the Zuo family are practically in-laws. If it weren't for the sudden tsunami and earthquake, their children would have already gotten married. Now that we know about my niece, it's very convenient for us to go directly to N City. We hope Mr. Qin can help us along the way."

Qin Lisen's expression remained unchanged as he smiled and said, "Of course, of course. Since Mrs. Jin and the Zuo family are related, when we arrive in N City, we'll ask you and your wife to help us make the connection."

Seeing Qin Lisen return with his men and nod slightly in their direction, Zhuang Yihao and his nephew, who were mixed in with the bodyguards and whose eyes were the only visible part of them, knew that things had gone well.

Zhuang Weifeng asked his uncle, somewhat puzzled, "The Jin family is quite a big fish, Uncle. Why don't we just eat them up instead of taking them with us to the refuge in N City?"

Zhuang Yihao now only has Zhuang Weifeng left as a relative. His older brother and sister-in-law were lost in the tsunami and are likely dead. Now that he has returned to China, he often takes Zhuang Weifeng with him and teaches him step by step, hoping that he can grow up quickly.

"Our team has been too selfish, and we've already taken too much. It's time to stop. Now, it's not just the Jin family we can't take; we need to find a way to bring along any smaller fish that come along. When we get to N City, these refugees will be our stepping stones to the N City shelter. If it weren't for that fundraising incident we did back home that damaged our reputation, we wouldn't be in this mess." Zhuang Yihao explained, then sighed.
