Chapter 13 Space

Li Ke herself didn't read many books, but she often heard Chen Jiaojiao and some classmates discussing things like female protagonist novels, historical novels, and novels with spatial springs. For a while, Chen Jiaojiao introduced her to these things, and Li Ke also read several online novels.

Therefore, most of the time, the recognition of a space owner is done by dripping blood. Li Ke did not hesitate and found an eyebrow razor, making a shallow cut on the inside of his wrist.

Seeing the blood seeping out, she immediately pressed the lucky charm on it. She felt dizzy and closed her eyes uncomfortably. When she opened them again, she found herself in an unfamiliar place.

A desolate, barren wasteland stretches as far as the eye can see, with black, continuous mountain ranges in the distance.

There was no sun, yet the light was completely unaffected; overhead was a clear, empty sky. There were no houses or springs in sight, but the size of the spring was astonishing.

Li Ke thought to herself, "I want to go out."

In the blink of an eye, she was back in her little room. Li Ke tried to put her hand on the water glass on the table again, and when she thought of Mo Nian Shou, the glass disappeared from her sight.

As she thought about the cup, an image appeared in her mind: the cup was placed on the ground in that space.

Li Ke tried to put the table, bed, and wardrobe into the space one by one, and went in and out several times herself before she truly believed that she had really returned to two years before the apocalypse. The apocalypse truly came in the autumn of 2026, just as her and Chen Jiaojiao's summer vacation in their sophomore year was about to end.

A feeling of hunger washed over her, and Li Ke went straight downstairs. Instead of going directly to the kitchen to find something to eat, she went to the villa's storage room first. There was a snack area there, which Li Ke would never touch without orders.

There was no one here, so she picked and collected a small portion of the items here and there, and also took some of the same items from the grain, oil, vegetable and fruit section on the other side and put them into her spatial storage.

The preservation effect of the space has not yet been verified, but that doesn't stop her from putting some food in it. However, she can't put too much in, or the Chen family's aunt will think something is wrong.

Although these two aunties often lined their own pockets, they kept a close eye on Li Ke.

Li Ke is still a student. She only has eighty yuan in her phone, four hundred yuan in her bedside table, and less than twenty yuan in pocket money. She really has no money.

After collecting a small pile of snacks and other grains, oils, vegetables, and fruits, Li Ke went into the kitchen. Aunt Chen was serving food outside when she saw Li Ke and frowned, asking, "Why are you back, Ke girl? Shouldn't you be at school right now?"

The school gates are closed at noon, and all students eat in the cafeteria. The gates are only opened after school in the evening so that day students can go home, which is why Aunt Chen asked this question.

"I had a slight fever, so I took leave and came back to rest," Li Ke replied casually.

Ignoring Aunt Chen's disapproving look, Li Ke took a bowl and chopsticks to serve herself rice. Aunt Chen muttered, "She didn't even let us know she was coming back. We're almost out of food." Then she hurriedly took the dishes out of the kitchen.

Li Ke pretended not to hear, and secretly filled a bowl with hot black chicken and ginseng soup and put it in his own space.

Seeing that there were still two dishes that hadn't been served, she quickly picked up some and filled her bowl with rice. Aunt Chen returned quickly and looked at Li Ke suspiciously. But then she thought that the girl was usually quite well-behaved, so she realized that she was overthinking it. Besides, she didn't find anything wrong with the table.

Li Ke ignored her gaze and ladled another bowl of mixed stew from the large pot. The food in this pot was reserved for the aunt, the driver, and Li Ke.

Although it couldn't compare to the food served by the Chen family's master, it was still quite good. Li Ke wasn't a picky person.

"Eating so much? She doesn't look sick." Aunt Chen muttered dissatisfaction as she watched Li Ke serve herself rice as if it were her family's rice.

Li Ke sat down at the small square table next to her and began to eat heartily. Aunt Chen, feeling annoyed, glared at her and took away the remaining two dishes and soup with a large tray.

After everyone left, Li Ke picked up two frozen seafood items from the freezer next to her and put them into her spatial storage. There were also some large buckets of ice cream in the next compartment, and Li Ke also took two of those.

Anyway, since they can't find it in her room, it doesn't mean it's her fault.

Aunt Chen and Aunt Zheng had to stay in the restaurant to help the two elderly people finish eating before they came over, so Li Ke didn't wait for them and just ate his own food.

After finishing her meal, she washed her dishes and went back to her room.

Lying back in bed, Li Ke began to plan her future path.

In her previous life, she failed her college entrance exam. She attended junior high school in a small county town. When she was in the first year of junior high, her grandfather passed away, and her grandmother's health also deteriorated.

With no other option, Grandma sold the house and moved with Li Ke to her uncle's house with the money from the sale.

At first, the uncle and aunt were very polite to the grandmother and Li Ke, but after only a month, the aunt's eyes showed a lot of disdain.

My uncle's family has a son and a daughter, one in the first year of high school and the other in the third year of junior high school. They are already under a lot of pressure. The money my grandmother gave them only earned my aunt a smile for a month.

The money was already in her hands, and the two people, one old and one young, were a real eyesore to her.

Li Ke transferred to a school in the city where her aunt lived. Because of her grandfather's passing, Li Ke took a leave of absence for a period of time to take care of her grandmother, which caused her to fall behind in her studies.

She transferred to a new school and originally wanted to study hard, but her aunt didn't want her to be a freeloader. She piled up a lot of housework for her and didn't allow her to stay up late to read or write.
