The two stopped at a high slope near a grove of dead trees. It was close to the town below, and most of the forest had already been cut down. Only here, where it was difficult to go up or down, large patches of dead trees remained.
Li Ke casually sat on the cushion, holding a high-powered telescope and looking at the town below. There was also paper and pen in front of him, outlining the general layout of the town as he observed it.
Song Xian tidied up the place and set up the tent. After he finished, he sat down next to Li Ke and casually glanced at the layout diagram that Li Ke had placed in front of him.
Song Xian stared at the blueprint for two seconds. Sure enough, everyone has their weaknesses. For the sake of Brother Li Jia's face, Song Xian decided not to say anything.
Next, Song Xian watched helplessly as Li Ke made another stroke on the drawing. After this stroke, the overall picture was almost completely ruined. Li Ke was also looking down at her drawing. She pointed to her finger, then casually crumpled it into a ball. It was so bad that she couldn't even stand looking at it herself.
Song Xian coughed and said, "Well, how about I give it a try? I've done blueprint design before."
Upon hearing this, Li Ke immediately pushed the binoculars and paper and pen to him: "Then you do it, I'm really not very good at this."
Song Xian was much faster. Because he was familiar with the town, he only glanced at it through the binoculars before starting to draw, while Li Ke sat beside him watching.
Soon, a clear and concise layout diagram appeared before Li Ke's eyes. This was indeed a professional task that needed to be done by professionals. She could follow the diagram, but it would be difficult for her to draw it herself.
Song Xian clearly marked all nine camps in the town and told Li Ke about the management situation of the nine camps that he roughly understood.
The first district was home to unruly and highly capable troublemakers. It had the fewest prisoners and the most guards among all the districts.
Song Xian wasn't entirely sure of the exact number of people in District One, but based on what he knew before, it was close to one hundred. He didn't know if that number had increased or decreased.
Furthermore, if a prisoner wanted to join the bandit group and surrender, that person had to first enter the prisoner camp in District 1 and kill two of them in order to obtain a surrender slot, which was quite difficult.
It may seem like he's only required to kill two people, but often they might have to face the entire prisoner-of-war camp, unless the bandits go easy on him and only let him face the two targets directly.
The Second District is mostly populated by highly educated and cultured people. The engineers are all imprisoned in the Second District, so the people there are a mixed bag, with some being clever and others being old-fashioned. Song Xian doesn't know much about them, but he learned from Duan Lao Er that the leader of the Second District likes to pick people who are cunning.
When the leader of District Two is in a good mood, he treats them with some courtesy, but when he is in a bad mood, it is common for him to abuse them. Boss Duan often says that the manager of District Two is a bit of a psychopath.
The Third District was the camp where Song Xian was located. Apart from the Seventh District, there was not much difference between the Third and Tenth Districts. The people in each camp were all laborers who had to work underground. In any case, they had to obey the orders of these bandits.
The leader of District Seven was a woman. Her camp had both men and women, and most of them were very good-looking. The people in this district were mainly responsible for logistics and serving the bandits' daily needs. They were also a group of unfortunate people.
There is no fourth district because the person in charge of the fourth district felt that the name "fourth district" sounded unlucky. So after the third district, there is the fifth district, and so on up to the tenth district.
The Third District, where Song Xian was located, had more than 130 people, including 30 guards, 6 minor leaders, and one major leader, Duan Lao Er, for a total of 37 people.
The number of people in other districts is about the same, except for District 1. I heard that District 1 has at least 70 people at times.
Moreover, although the camps were divided into different areas for management, it was just a small town. If something happened in one camp, the other camps could provide rapid support. So far, even though there have been several riots by the prisoners, none of them have succeeded.
They ruthlessly and decisively eliminate any potential threats, and any guards can arbitrarily execute anyone who shows obvious signs of resistance, unless the boss forbids it.
As noon approached, Li Ke looked at the smoke rising from the town and asked, "Is that District Seven?"
Song Xian nodded: "Yes, the people in District Seven are responsible for washing clothes and cooking during the day, and they are bullied by those bandits at night. The female boss of District Seven is always smiling, but her subordinates often transport dead bodies out. I don't know where they send the bodies? Or do they just throw them somewhere and bury them randomly?"
Song Xian's voice was a little sad. For a while, he thought he was going to die too. He kept thinking about where he would go if he died.
He didn't have a good relationship with his family. His father was very authoritarian, and his mother always endured it silently, unwilling to leave this environment. He also had an older sister who was quite a bit younger than him. She became independent as soon as she turned 18, ran far away, and lost contact with her family.
After Song Xian came of age, his father still wanted to arrange his life. He tried for a while, but found that no one could change his life, so he ran away like his sister.
He would only call his mother occasionally, but she would always betray him by telling his father about his whereabouts. His father would then call his boss or go to his workplace to forcefully give him instructions.
Song Xian eventually became so disappointed in his mother that he simply stopped contacting anyone.
Now, even in his dreams, his parents and sister are blurry. Song Xian doesn't like to dream about his family because it makes him very nervous and tired.
