As Qiu Feng saw Hu Chong off, he couldn't help but ask him, "What exactly are you doing? What is your boss trying to do?"
Hu Chong looked at the sky outside: "He's doing something to change the world, trying to create his own world."
Qiu Feng laughed: "It sounds arrogant, but I just don't think he's a good person, and he's not doing anything decent."
Hu Chong sighed. Qiu Feng was still so stubborn. He said, "We will deliver food and supplies tomorrow. At the same time, a group of people will come here to find a suitable place. They will not disturb you. We hope that after you receive the supplies, you will not bother us."
Qiu Feng: "Tell Qiu Chen and Lin Shuang that if they do not regret the path they have chosen, from now on I will no longer be their elder brother. Tell them to take care of themselves."
Hu Chong paused, but ultimately said nothing more and left with his companions.
Niu Dazhuang watched their retreating figures and asked the eldest brother, "Big brother, should I go and track them down?"
Qiu Feng shook his head, and Niu Dazhuang said with some concern, "Are we really going to let them find places to roam around us? It feels like they're trying to lure us in."
Qiu Feng snorted: "They're just trying to lure us in, but we have no choice but to take the bait. Let's see if we can break through their net."
Qiu Feng received another batch of grain and daily necessities, and then led the people in the town to continue the underground construction. As for the people sent by the boss, he only asked his brothers to guard within ten kilometers outside the town. Beyond that distance, they were free to do as they pleased.
It was under these circumstances that Li Ke's wall was discovered by the boss's men, who then ran over the landmines she had planted, killing two people. In fact, this was only because the landmines Li Ke planted were not very powerful; otherwise, only two people would have died.
After listening to his subordinates' report at their temporary lodgings, Hu Chong asked, "Have you observed how many people are above?"
The subordinate shook his head: "We didn't find anyone, but we didn't find any entrances or exits in this wall. There are also eight watchtowers built on top of the wall, as well as surveillance cameras and electric fences. It feels like there should be some people inside, but judging from their size, there can't be too many, because the area enclosed by that wall isn't very big. At most, it could house three to five hundred people."
Hu Chong thought for a moment and said, "Send someone back to inform the boss and ask him to send a team of mine-clearing personnel. Our men can't have died for nothing, and we can't always back down. Not everyone is worth our concessions."
So, early the next morning, Li Ke discovered that there were quite a few people active at the blocked road below. They were building a makeshift bridge, intending to bring their vehicles and people into Li Ke's territory.
Li Ke looked through the binoculars, then, carrying a backpack, went down the wall, descended through the tunnel, and emerged from a secluded spot at the foot of the mountain.
She had already changed into clothes that made her easier to conceal herself, and carefully ran to a good shooting position. She first used a grenade thrower to fire five or six grenades at the group of people.
Ignoring her warnings, these people attacked a second time. It seemed they had secretly removed the landmines she had planted, so Li Ke naturally had no reason to show mercy.
While the enemy was dazed and confused by the explosions, suffering numerous casualties, Li Ke closed the distance again and engaged in close-range shooting. Once the smoke and dust had cleared, Li Ke, like a seasoned hunter, moved to another location for a safer close-range hunt.
Li Ke saw that there were 36 people in the team. So far, under her sudden and intense artillery fire, no one has made an effective response, and the casualties look very heavy.
These men were focused on building the plank bridge, and they left ten brothers to guard the surroundings and the distance, so as to prevent their superiors from discovering and attacking them.
But everything went smoothly from demining the landmines to filling the pits and building bridges, and they didn't see anything coming from inside the wall. The attack came too suddenly, and under the continuous attacks, they couldn't even find a target to fight back.
After Li Ke finished off the attackers, he stopped approaching the broken road. Seeing vehicles coming up again from below, Li Ke knew that the commotion here had alerted the others.
She retreated back inside the wall, pushed the cannon barrel out, and aimed it at the broken road below. She couldn't buy military cannons. Although she had more money than she could spend back then, Li Ke couldn't buy some state-owned secret weapons and large-scale weapons of mass destruction unique to the military.
She had money, but no connections. The best she could find was to be introduced to a foreign arms manufacturer who sold her fifty mediocre cannons, including ten anti-aircraft guns, twenty infantry guns, and twenty mortars.
Li Ke had observed the results of the opponent's test shots in the desert. Some shots were accurate but had insufficient range, while others had a long range but some had issues with accuracy.
Li Ke thought about it and bought it anyway. She might not need it, but she had plenty of money, and it would be useful to display it as a deterrent in the future.
Watching the cars below gradually pass her warning sign, Li Ke fired the first shot at them. This distance was nothing for these cannons with average performance.
Li Ke watched as the cannon destroyed the road and three cars were blown up, and her blood started flowing faster.
Hu Chong's car followed at the back. There were five cars in total that came to provide support. Now that they were being attacked by artillery, they could no longer remain calm. They didn't care about the situation of the three cars that had been bombed in front of them. Hu Chong directly ordered everyone to retreat immediately.
Li Ke fired another shell at the two vehicles that were trying to escape. Now that he had already fired one shell, he might as well take the opportunity to practice more!
