Chapter 178 White Flag

After Hu Chong left, Niu Dazhuang said to Qiu Feng, "Lin Nuo is a very cunning kid. No one in his dormitory can bully him now."

Qiu Feng: "I heard that he has been having health problems recently. He sometimes faints suddenly and can't be woken up. The doctors can't figure out what's wrong with him."

Niu Dazhuang replied, "It's not just him; all those bandit leaders are like this now. I just don't know if this is a scheme of theirs or if they really have health problems."

There are only two doctors in the town, but they don't have medical equipment to examine them, so they can't find out what's wrong with these people. According to the doctors, they just fainted, and there's nothing seriously wrong with them outwardly.

But the fainting was probably genuine; they couldn't be woken up by physical methods. However, no one could be sure whether these people faked the fainting, since they all had some skills.

Qiu Feng simply remained unchanged in the face of all changes. No matter who fainted, he would beat them first. If they couldn't be woken up, he would lock them up. Once they woke up, they could continue working. Mercy was out of the question. They were only alive to work.

They don't have the means to treat illnesses right now. Qiu Feng suspects that the fainting they've experienced is related to the injections of the "miracle drug." This condition has only just begun to appear, and Qiu Feng thinks they need to observe them further.

Li Ke then ran to the other side of the blocked road under the cover of night, crossed the new crater created by the cannon fire, and extended the distance further. He then erected another warning sign for himself, which read: "Restricted area ahead, those who enter will die."

The next two days passed quietly, and no one ventured into the safe zone designated by Li Ke. By the third day, the outside temperature had reached a high of 61 degrees Celsius.

The instruction manual clearly stated that the solar panels could withstand temperatures of around 75 to 80 degrees Celsius, but more than 20 of them have broken down, and the number is still increasing. Li Ke sighed inwardly, feeling that the photovoltaic roof he had built would soon be useless.

As evening fell and the temperature dropped, Li Ke, wearing gloves, went up to the roof to remove the solar panels that had stopped working, when he spotted a small object flying in the air.

Li Ke stood under the solar panel. She hadn't had time to turn on her flashlight yet, and it would be difficult to spot her unless you looked closely.

Li Ke put on night vision goggles, raised her gun, aimed at the drones, and shot them down one by one. After observation, she found a total of three drones. Moreover, it seemed that Li Ke had spotted them in time; these drones had not yet flown over Li Ke's wall before she spotted and shot them down.

On the other end of the drone, the signal was already unstable, and now its transmission went completely black. There were still three drones approaching that had not been detected, but Hu Chong directly ordered the remote control to be recalled.

The footage that had just been transmitted back did not show anyone, and the drone was suddenly shot down. Hu Chong believed that the other side's security was 24 hours a day, and their probing actions should not be continued.

After confirming there were no spying devices, Li Ke climbed off the roof, turned around and went up the wall. She wrapped herself up tightly, put the drone on the ground in a black cloth, and then smashed it to pieces.

After observing the surroundings again with binoculars and finding no hiding place for the rats, Li Ke switched to another gun emplacement. The cannon muzzle was still pointed towards the dead end, and without thinking twice, he fired two more shots at that spot.

Good, both cannons fired normally and hit their targets accurately. We can keep this cannon.

Hu Chong and his group hid behind cover, feeling the tremors beneath their feet. They were speechless for a moment. The other side was firing artillery to intimidate them, and it actually worked.

After staying in the same spot for a long time, until there was absolutely no movement, Hu Chong quietly packed up all the equipment before leading his men carefully down the mountain.

Over the next few days, Li Ke began to add a canopy to the yard and roof. The temperature continued to rise, already above 65 degrees Celsius, and Li Ke gradually removed all the solar panels.

A week later, in the evening, Hu Chong led his men to raise a large white flag in front of the restricted area sign. The boss had already sent word that there were indeed no military personnel nearby, and the people inside the wall might be a private gang or people who had defected from the military.

The boss's idea was for him to first try to make contact with the other party, probe their strengths and weaknesses, and then deal with the situation accordingly.

Li Ke didn't know how long they had been in this state of emergency, but even though the heat was unbearable, Li Ke would still go out to exercise in the morning and evening. As long as there was enough water and cooling measures, the heat wasn't too unbearable for Li Ke at the moment.

After observing through binoculars, Li Ke noticed that the other side's white flag also had two words written on it: "Peace Talks".

Peace talks? What a joke. Li Ke lives alone in this house. Why would she go out and talk to them? Ever since she met that somewhat capable man with the bushy beard, regardless of whether he was bluffing her or not, Li Ke will not easily let others find out her true strength again.

After thinking for a moment, Li Ke took out the largest national flag from his space, fixed the flagpole, and raised the national flag.

Then, he found a large white cloth in the space, held a large calligraphy brush in both hands, and wrote a big "roll" character. After leaving the space, he draped the white cloth over the wall. After confirming that the other party could see the character he wrote through binoculars, Li Ke fired a shot at the other party's front.

Hu Chong led his men to retreat hastily. When they looked again, the white cloth was gone, and only the bright red flag was hanging high in the air. He could only lead his men back empty-handed. The people inside were simply untouchable. They were unwilling to even negotiate, and they couldn't get close to the other side's stronghold. How could they possibly gather information?

Moreover, judging from the other party's tough stance, Hu Chong was 80% certain that the other party was from the military, but he didn't know why they had left the army.
