Chapter 185 Creating Infected Individuals?

The woman glared at Niu Dazhuang: "Look at you, all big and burly, I didn't expect you to be so gossipy. Stop talking nonsense with me, just surrender quickly, I don't have that much patience."

Niu Dazhuang chuckled: "Then go ahead and blow it up. We've discussed it, we'd rather die than be taken prisoner. Anyway, you're the one who planted the bomb, you're the one who did the bad thing. If we end up underground, the blame will fall on you, it has nothing to do with us brothers."

The woman was taken aback, not expecting such a response from Niu Dazhuang. She straightened up and said, "You really won't surrender? If you anger me, I'll send you to the Western Paradise right away."

Niu Dazhuang glanced at his brothers behind him. They all stood or sat with their arms crossed, seemingly indifferent, but no one showed any unusual expression. He reiterated to the woman, "Surrender is impossible. Either we die together, or we stay like this and have a chat."

The woman angrily retorted, "Shut up, you ancestor!"

Niu Dazhuang said very seriously, "I'm afraid that won't work. I'm not familiar with any of them. I only know my grandfather, and I don't even know the names of anyone beyond that."

Upon hearing this, Niu Dazhuang's brothers burst into laughter, laughing uncontrollably.

The woman raised the controller in her hand with a dark expression: "You stinky man, don't talk back to your grandma!"

Niu Dazhuang and the others fell silent and stopped provoking the woman, but no one spoke up to stop her. The woman asked, somewhat exasperated, "Aren't you afraid of dying?"

Niu Dazhuang answered every question: "Yes, I am scared, but compared to dying, being a prisoner is more terrifying. It would be more comfortable to die quickly."

The woman's chest heaved: "Then why don't you just commit suicide? Wouldn't it be more quicker to just shoot yourselves!"

Niu Dazhuang: "That won't do, it's too pointless. We'll wait for you to press the bomb."

The woman glared at Niu Dazhuang, staring and staring, her pale face turning slightly red with anger. Niu Dazhuang looked back at her innocently.

Exhausted, the woman sat down on the ground: "Get back here! I don't want to see your face. Let me rest for a while, then I'll send you all to your deaths."

Niu Dazhuang obediently replied "okay," turned around, sat down at the desk, and faced the two shelter leaders who dared not move.

"Tell me, what's the situation here? Where are my brothers?" Niu Dazhuang's expression changed instantly as he asked the two cowards in front of him.

One of them quickly replied, "We don't know. Your brothers have already been sent away. We're not the bosses here either. We're just two small fry, left here as a show."

Niu Dazhuang also realized that, as his brothers had mentioned before, the leader here was quite domineering. Although he was under their control, he was still not very honest and kept trying to cause trouble. If they weren't afraid of losing control of their men, they would have killed him.

The moment these two people walked in, I sensed something was off. They had no presence at all; they didn't seem like the kind of people who could be bosses.

Niu Dazhuang then asked, "So you'll just say whatever you know? Otherwise, our brothers here will each give you a knife and bleed you dry before sending you on your way."

The two men exchanged a glance, and the one who had spoken first responded: "We two defected and joined your brothers' security team, which is why the boss had us tied up here to take the fall. A week ago, more and more people in the shelter fell ill, and then a riot suddenly broke out. While we were maintaining order, we were suddenly attacked and captured."

The riot started suddenly, but it ended quickly. After your brothers and we were arrested, the situation was brought under control very quickly. We were kept in separate lockup, and the next night we saw them being taken away. Shortly after, we were also arrested and locked up with the people who were having an attack.

There were thirty of us, and more than twenty of us were infected. When the number of infected people in the dungeon got too high, some were taken away, and then more people were brought in. Six or seven of us hadn't been infected until today when the alarm went off and the two of us were brought here.

Niu Dazhuang asked, "You mean, the people here are creating infected people?"

The man stammered, "That's how I feel. And I've noticed that the guards outside, the ones who arrest us, don't seem to be afraid of getting infected at all. They're in frequent contact with patients, but they haven't gotten infected either. I suspect that this disease might be something they created."

Niu Dazhuang countered, "Then how come you didn't get infected?"

“After we were locked up with those patients, we understood their intention: they wanted to turn us into patients too. In order to resist, we stayed together and chased away any patients who came near.”

"Those people only gave us a sip of water and a piece of dry food the size of a biscuit each day. We managed to hold on for a week, and in the end, only seven of us were left uninfected. We don't know where the other five were taken." The man replied somewhat dejectedly. He was very afraid of dying, but the current situation often made him feel desperate.

A woman's voice suddenly rang out from outside the door: "They are saving people and researching treatment methods. They have now found a way to prevent and treat the disease, and they will soon find a cure."

Niu Dazhuang turned to look at the door: "Do you really believe they'll save people? They'll keep getting people sick and infected before they even try to save them?"

The woman stubbornly replied, "That's because they need research subjects. This disease isn't easy to cure, and they need a large number of research subjects to practice on."

Niu Dazhuang looked at the woman with a hint of pity: "Are you trying to convince yourself with these words?"
