Chapter 20 Detective Agency

The couple who owned the business inspected and packed the goods one by one in front of Li Ke. Although there were many items, they were quite fast. After all, this was a big order. The couple's lips were curled up in a wide smile that never faded.

This morning, a booming business came to my door on its own, a good omen, and I made a fortune. It's hard not to be happy.

The two packed everything up and put it together in two large, sturdy, and durable black tote bags. Knowing that the guests were not talking, the two were not curious and went downstairs with Li Ke with smiles.

Once downstairs, Li Ke checked the time and showed her phone to the boss: "Is there a restroom? Could I use it?"

Upon seeing the message, the male boss hurriedly replied, "Yes, yes, honey, quickly take the guests over."

The proprietress quickly smiled and led the way for Li Ke: "Beautiful lady, it's this way."

The restroom is at the back. It's not too small and has both wet and dry facilities. There were quite a few miscellaneous items inside, but it was still quite clean overall.

After closing the door and observing for a moment, Li Ke walked to the sink and turned on the tap to wash his hands.

But her consciousness was constantly observing the situation in the space. The little fish in the fish tank were still swimming leisurely, showing no signs of being listless.

Li Ke stayed in the bathroom for about five minutes, which was two minutes past the allotted time, but neither the fish tank nor the fish were ejected.

It appears that living things can be stored in the space, and it seems that these small animals are not subject to time limits.

Li Ke looked at the sunflowers she had planted again. She had watered them once before leaving the house. The soil in the space was highly absorbent, and the water seeped into the ground immediately, leaving no trace of moisture.

But now it seems that the sunflower is still alive and well, but Li Ke also noticed that the flower seems to be exactly the same as when it was planted, without any change.

Li Ke kept these things in mind, waited a little while longer, and then picked up her bag and walked out of the washroom.

The table where the owners ate in the courtyard had been put away, and the owner's wife was busy in a corner. Li Ke took a look and realized that there were several cages of rabbits in the house.

Seeing Li Ke come out, the proprietress smiled, put down the small bowl she was using to feed him, rubbed her hands together slightly, and led Li Ke towards the front of the shop.

In front of the couple, Li Ke opened the luggage bag again, inspected the goods once more, and after confirming that there were no problems, he turned his back to the street and took out stacks of RMB.

"Do you want to test it?" Li Ke typed for them to see.

The boss had already counted eighteen stacks. Having been in business for a long time, their eyes and hands were like rulers, so they said directly, "We can just count them quickly, no need to check."

The proprietress counted the money first, then handed it to her husband for another count. The couple counted the money incredibly fast, their movements almost as fast as a second-counting machine.

The transaction was complete, and the shop owner personally carried her bag and escorted her to the door, saying, "Miss, did you drive here? Or would you like me to give you a ride? We're not busy right now, it's very convenient."

Li Ke wrote: "I took a taxi myself."

The boss hadn't really intended to give her a ride; he just wanted to maintain a good relationship with his customer. Seeing Li Ke's response, he quickly went to the side of the road to help flag down a car.

After seeing Li Ke off, he stood there watching him go for quite a while.

Sitting in the car, Li Ke saw her boss waving enthusiastically and felt a surge of emotion.

In the post-apocalyptic world, such interactions are fraught with danger, bloodshed, and slaughter. The ease and comfort they bring now makes Li Ke smile knowingly.

The driver dropped Li Ke off at a public restroom near the industrial park. It wasn't a day off, and Li Ke had chosen a somewhat remote spot, so there were hardly any people around after she got out of the car.

Li Ke carried two large bags into the restroom. When she came out, she had transformed into a woman with short red hair and a voluptuous figure. Her clothes, shoes, mask, glasses, and handbag were all new, and no one could recognize her as her original self.

She used to come here often with Chen Zhizhi's uncle and aunt to buy electronic products, and she had seen a small detective agency here.

Following her memory, Li Ke found the firm's small storefront, which was closed, but there was no sign indicating that it was not open. Li Ke knocked on the door, and it opened.

Inside, a slightly plump woman wearing glasses was sleeping. Hearing the noise, she looked over sleepily and, realizing someone had arrived, hurriedly adjusted her glasses and said, "The boss isn't here. I'll definitely pay the rent in a couple of days."

Li Ke blinked and held up his phone to show the other person. The woman squinted at it, and seeing that it was a customer, she immediately stood up and greeted them with a smile: "Wait a moment, I'll go get the boss right away."

Li Ke watched the woman go inside, and a short while later, a tall, thin man followed her out.

The man looked to be in his early thirties, with a thin and gaunt face, but his eyes were very bright. His thick black hair was slightly damp on his forehead, indicating that he had just washed his face, and he was wearing a casual sweatshirt and pants.

The man glanced at Li Ke. There were many people dressed in full armor who came to his place. He gestured for Li Ke to go into the inner room and said, "Hello, my surname is Zhou, Zhou Heng. May I ask how the boss is addressed?"

Li Ke didn't reply to him. Instead, she went into the office inside, sat down, and typed out her request for Zhou Heng to see.

After carefully reviewing the document, Zhou Heng said, "The results can be obtained in two weeks, and the cost will range from 20,000 to 80,000 yuan, depending on the client's situation. Of course, if it is too troublesome, we will increase the cost or refuse to provide the service."

Li Ke nodded, took out a photo of Li Zhenzhen and Chen Niansheng as a couple, and then typed their names on his phone to show them to the other person.
