"You're not qualified to have what's in that room right now, but I can let you take a look." As he spoke, the man clapped his hands lightly.
The door opened with a click, revealing two men in combat uniforms and helmets. Beside them were a room full of wooden crates and some cold and hot weapons piled up on the floor.
Compared to the weapons Li Ke possessed, this room was insignificant, but even a mosquito's leg is meat, and since the enemy had offered it up, it would be unreasonable not to accept it.
But Li Ke hasn't figured out how to collect them yet. Every time he opens a room, a group of people come out. Li Ke still doesn't know if the people in front of him are all the people in the cave.
Li Ke pretended to think for a while before saying, "Are you the one who can make decisions? Why don't we talk about this privately? There are some things I don't want too many people to know."
The man interacted briefly with the two people beside him, and quickly nodded in agreement with Li Ke's suggestion.
The man asked, "Where would you like to talk?"
“Since it’s a private meeting, it should be held in a room. Do you expect me to talk to you in public? Why don’t we go into your room and talk?” Li Ke retorted.
The man frowned. Their room was not suitable. There were weapons next to them, and this man was carrying a heavy bomb. What if something went wrong when they tried to kill him to cover it up?
“This won’t do. I’ll take you to the room upstairs to talk,” the man replied.
Li Ke: "Whatever, I'm fine with anything."
Those present generally felt that Li Ke was already tempted and had, unsurprisingly, agreed to cooperate with them. Perhaps he was greedy or had some special requirements, which led to the request for further private talks.
Moreover, as long as he doesn't intend to gather everyone together and blow them up, they won't suffer too much loss today. Most importantly, these people are quite confident in their own strength.
The person in front of them, although he seemed to have decent skills and a bit of cleverness, was still somewhat inferior to them in terms of physique.
Li Ke and the man walked up together. She asked with some curiosity, "Did you just join Boss Cheng's team recently? Or are you his new partners? You don't look like Boss Cheng's people."
If Boss Cheng had these men before, he wouldn't have always been losing and running away when fighting Qiu Feng and his group, right? Besides, these people have brought out so many firearms this time. Boss Cheng wasn't usually this generous with firearms.
The man remained very confident. Although he didn't give a clear answer to Li Ke's question, he indicated a direction: "You have good eyesight and some brains."
Li Ke chuckled and followed the man into a room carved into the mountainside. It was a one-bedroom apartment that had been carved out, with the interior blocked by half a wall.
The man led Li Ke into the front half of the room, which resembled a living room. Li Ke said rather rudely, "Close the door. Let me see if anyone is inside."
After saying that, Li Ke walked inside. Inside was a rather simple bedroom with a bed, a table, and some daily necessities, all arranged fairly neatly.
The light dimmed suddenly, then came back on; the other person had closed the door and turned on the lights. There were no wires in the room; they were probably using a power bank.
Li Ke thought of the two large freezers below. The people here must have power generation equipment. If things go smoothly later, he should take them with him.
A man's voice rang out: "Don't worry, this is my bedroom, it's just the two of us."
Li Ke turned around, and the man was already sitting on the earthen bench in the living room. He looked at Li Ke and teased, "Why are you so nervous? Why don't you take off the bombs on your body? Anyway, there are only the two of us here. It's not worth it for you to take all these bombs with just me."
Li Ke walked over and sat down next to him, only half an arm's length away from the man. The bench had thick cushions, and this group of people's lifestyle was truly simple and comfortable.
“You’re right, it’s quite tiring for me to carry these. Do you think if these bombs accidentally explode, the entire cave will collapse and crush us all?” Li Ke asked with a smile as she sat down next to the man, taking the bombs off her body.
The man's face behind the gas mask froze for a second. Neither of them could see each other's true expressions. Under the seemingly true yet false words, the man couldn't help but wonder if the other person really had this intention.
But he quickly responded, saying casually, "It won't collapse. There are layers of rock in this mountainside. At most, you can take me away, and even that's not guaranteed. Let's talk about peaceful coexistence. After all, I don't want to die, and I believe you do too."
Li Ke: "You're right. Then tell me the truth first. Besides the twenty-two of you and those five women I saw, how many of you are there? If this is all there are, then it's not that I'm unwilling to cooperate with you, it's that you're really not qualified. You might as well keep hiding. With such shallow strength, I wouldn't dare to cooperate with you."
The man seemed to hum softly: "Each of us here can take on ten or even a hundred! And we're just the vanguard. As long as you tell us what's going on inside the walls, we'll make reasonable adjustments. You don't need to worry about our strength."
Hearing this, Li Ke felt a little heavy-hearted, but on the surface, he scoffed dismissively, "So powerful? What do we do inside the walls? Who are we? What do we have? How much do you know? Tell me."
