“I underestimated you, and it’s my bad luck, but I’m telling you, I won’t say anything. It’s useless for you to only have me.” The man, who was only wearing underwear and tied to the rack, spoke. This was the same man who had negotiated with Li Ke earlier.
Li Ke sat two meters in front of him and said lazily, "I know you're all very stubborn and it's hard to get you to talk, but I'm not in a hurry. I have time and patience, provided you don't provoke me too much. Before we talk, I'll show you something so you'll have a better idea of what to expect."
Li Ke pressed a button on the remote control in his hand, and the black curtain on the left opened, revealing a single-pane glass window. Inside the room, there were twenty people dressed only in underwear, some men and some women, hanging like a pile of meat strips.
Li Ke deliberately gave the man some time so he could see more clearly: "Although their heads are covered by black cloth, I believe that people like you have special ways of recognizing your teammates, such as the snake tattoos under your armpits."
Without Li Ke needing to specifically remind him, the man already recognized that the people on the other side were his teammates.
His face was grim, and he looked at Li Ke with dark eyes: "Even if you capture all of us, you won't get any information. But you must be careful. As long as one of us escapes, you will live in constant fear, you little rat who doesn't even dare to show your face."
Li Ke calmly gave an "oh" before saying, "There are five more bodies lying elsewhere, and I've sealed off that cave. Unless your organization sends more people, you won't be held accountable."
And even if they come to settle scores, I think they'll be the ones who never return. After all, our methods towards you are currently relatively lenient. If we wanted something more bloody, we could simply crush you insects.
"Then kill us!" the man said coldly.
Li Ke shook his head: "Dying is too easy, there's no rush. Let me show you something else."
Li Ke closed the curtain of the window she had just seen, then opened the curtain on the right. In that room, a bloodied man was tied to a cross. Some parts were simply bandaged, but it was still visible that in many places the skin and flesh were turned inside out, or there were pieces of flesh missing.
The man's eyes narrowed as he stared intently at his wounded teammate, his muscles and veins seemingly about to burst: "Don't let me escape alive, or I'll make you wish you were dead!"
Li Ke closed the curtain and said innocently, "Don't be angry. This is the first time I've treated someone like this, and it was his own request. I'm naturally a peace-loving person."
And he's not dead yet. Look, I even bandaged him up. The interrogation went well; now he talks to me properly no matter what I ask him. It's great.
The man kept his mouth shut and stopped talking. Li Ke wasn't in a hurry. There was a very convenient small push table next to her, with fruit and snacks on it.
Li Ke watched a Western horror movie to pass the time; these kinds of movies aren't really scary except for the gore.
Li Ke's taboo genre of horror films is Chinese horror, or those from Southeast Asia and Japan. Perhaps it's because the people in these genres are too similar; she really doesn't like them—they're too creepy!
Watching the opening credits, Li Ke pushed up the lower half of her helmet, took a bowl of fruit salad and ate a couple of bites. Seeing the man staring at her, Li Ke put down what she was holding and stood up.
He pulled down his helmet, walked over to the man, and turned the cross binding him: "Your last teammate became bloodied right here. You can take a look at the torture instruments hanging on the wall, and there are quite a few on the ground too. If you're interested in any of them, you can ask, and I can let you try them first."
Looking at Li Ke's face, which was now completely covered again, the man said with certainty, "You're a woman, and your chin is so hard and square. Is it because you're ugly, or because you're wearing a human skin mask? I guess it's the latter."
Li Ke stood in front of the man, stroking her chin without answering. The man was indeed very strong, with a head the same size as Li Ke's helmet, and thick, coarse hair on his head and body. He was a big man.
Li Ke is a woman with a relatively thin figure. Although she is tall, her bone structure is still different from that of a man. She usually wears a full-body bulletproof vest under her clothes, and she has padded the areas that need to be padded, which makes her figure appear two sizes larger.
She doesn't often appear in public, so her disguise is quite successful so far. However, there are still many people in this world with sharp eyes and accurate sixth sense, so Li Ke is not surprised that someone will see through her disguise. As long as they don't know her true identity, that's fine.
"What organization are you? Your members all have this snake tattoo, right? I used to think you were in a cooperative relationship with that Boss Cheng, but now I'm starting to wonder if you've already taken control of him? People like you probably operate in a monopolistic manner and don't like anyone interfering, right?" Li Ke asked, without responding to the man's speculation.
The man continued, "I've already figured out you're a woman, so why are you still wearing this lousy helmet? I'm powerless to fight back now, and you don't even dare to show your true face? What a cowardly woman!"
Li Ke sighed, "We're wasting too much time talking nonsense like this. Let's get straight to the point. I used twenty different instruments of torture on your previous partner before he finally gave in."
I felt a pang of pity seeing his pitiful state, and I thought to myself that I wouldn't be so bloody in the future. But now I think you guys might be a bit special; you insist on going through countless hardships before you'll cooperate.
