Li Ke, Song Xian, and Mo Shuzu's group originally set off together, but after descending to the second ring road, Mo Shuzu's car noticeably slowed down.
Later, Uncle Mo directly dispatched someone to accompany Li Ke and the others as his representative. Uncle Mo's reason was that he was old and frail, and traveling would be too painful for him. For the sake of his health, he could only travel slowly.
Li Ke readily agreed to let him take care of himself, then watched his car head towards the reception area near the sentry post. In her heart, she didn't believe for a second that Uncle Mo was truly exhausted.
After Uncle Mo left, they really set off on their journey. There were many others like them hurrying down the mountain, racing against time and not daring to rest for long.
On the afternoon of the ninth day, they finally left the safe zone. Mo Shuzu's representative went to pick them up, and Li Kegang continued walking out with Song Xian and the others, but their people had not yet arrived.
Two days after leaving the safe zone, Li Ke stopped, while Qiu Feng and Song Xian continued forward.
Li Ke and his team's construction strategy was to start building from the bottom up and then gradually move upwards; the same principle applied to selecting loyal people.
So Niu Dazhuang was busy with his men in the base area at the bottom of the eighth district. Li Ke had told him to bring a group of people who could drive trucks and large machines to pick her up in two days.
Niu Dazhuang knew Li Ke's capabilities, and upon hearing this, he knew that Li Ke was going to bring out something good, so he was naturally overjoyed.
Li Ke found a relatively large venue, in front of which was a logistics park. During the day, she patrolled the entire logistics park to confirm that there was no one there and no electronic equipment. Then she began to observe whether there were any crowds gathering in the distance.
After confirming there was no danger, it was already late at night. Li Ke entered the space and began to organize the mechanical equipment needed for the infrastructure construction.
There were twenty large and small multi-functional excavators, a mix of old and new. Li Ke had quite a lot of machinery in her space. Some of them were purchased before the apocalypse, and others were collected during her travels.
It would be such a waste if she didn't put these things away and let them weather away outside; Li Ke couldn't bear to see such waste.
So far, the items in her space have actually increased rather than decreased, even though she has already managed to send some out.
Fifty dump trucks, thirty compactors of various kinds, six cranes, eight pile drivers, ten mixers, ten crushers, ten generators, and more than a hundred small manipulators were also selected. In addition, various manual tools were also included. Li Ke had been very restrained in his selection.
Her space also contains various large machines, such as tunnel boring machines, pavers, grinders, planers, and so on. It can be said that Li Ke has almost everything you could want in her space.
However, there are many things she can't share. First, they're too conspicuous; the more she shares, the more attention she'll attract, which isn't a good thing. Second, having these things would significantly reduce her manpower, which isn't ideal either.
But she has these things, and it's impossible for them to be wasted in the space. From the moment she participated in the first-level bidding, they have already come into the sight of those people, so there is no need to hide some things too much.
Finally, Li Ke mobilized twenty more trucks, which were convenient for both carrying people and goods. He would bring out the rest later depending on the situation. The roads within the safe zone were not very smooth at the moment, and driving was still somewhat difficult.
The next evening, Li Ke contacted Niu Dazhuang by radio. The call went smoothly, indicating that Niu Dazhuang had led his men out of the safe zone. Li Ke and Niu Dazhuang exchanged locations, and they were expected to meet up sometime in the middle of the night.
Niu Dazhuang brought out a hundred men, but less than half of them were real master craftsmen, and even those hundred men were far from enough.
After learning about their situation, Li Ke told them to rest first. The next day, he took them to another park where the machinery was just right for all of their partners to drive away.
Many small pieces of equipment, tools, and spare gasoline and diesel fuel have already been placed on the truck. Even so, this equipment is only one-fifth of what Li Ke intends to release.
Li Ke also told Niu Dazhuang directly that these people could only take away one-fifth of the equipment, and Niu Dazhuang would need to recruit more experienced operators for the remaining equipment.
Niu Dazhuang was naturally anxious. With these things, their infrastructure construction speed would be greatly accelerated, and the relocation could be completed much earlier. He simply told Li Ke to rest assured that he would recruit the necessary personnel as soon as possible.
After seeing Niu Dazhuang off, Li Ke received a message from Song Xian that they had encountered the approaching team. Zhou Heng had mobilized 5,000 men, with the first batch consisting of 2,000 men, who were able to board vehicles and depart.
There were still three thousand people behind them, walking at the back. Song Xian and his group had only encountered the first two thousand people. The remaining three thousand seemed to be a long way off.
Li Ke told the other party her location and asked all the experienced drivers in the first group to find her location as soon as possible.
She has enough trucks here so that these people who know how to drive can take them away and pick up the remaining 3,000 people as soon as possible.
The first group Zhou Heng selected consisted almost entirely of men, with only 500 women. Two hundred women came out with the first group, while three hundred walked behind.
Li Ke only waited a day and a half before the first truck arrived, which was packed with more than 150 people.
Li Ke treated them to a good meal and then let them rest for a night before letting them drive back in pairs, carrying fuel, to pick up their loved ones.
