Li Ke stared at those feet for a second before raising her head to look at Chen Xian above her, a grown-up bastard.
Chen Xian was also staring at Li Ke. When Li Ke looked up, the smile in his eyes suddenly disappeared, replaced by disdain and disappointment.
Chen Xian crossed his arms, his slightly thick lips curling into a smirk as he said, "Why is your face still like this? Didn't I tell you to get better quickly?"
Li Ke moved to the side and took two steps up, making him one step taller than Chen Xian. At this moment, Li Ke, wearing flat shoes, looked almost a head taller than Chen Xian, who was 1.75 meters tall.
Li Ke glanced at Chen Xian sideways and said, "Because Chen Jiaojiao doesn't want my face to get better, then my face can't get better. If you're so capable, go and ask her."
After Li Ke finished speaking, she quickly went upstairs and left. Facing something that was affecting her mood and appetite, she was afraid that if she continued to face it, she would not be able to resist turning it into mincemeat!
Chen Xian clicked his tongue. Li Ke's face was covered in red bumps, and he really couldn't be interested in her. He had thought he would see her face return to its former beauty and cuteness when he saw her come up with her head down, but what a pity.
Chen Xian continued downstairs. He could wait, and Li Ke couldn't run away. Besides, Chen Xian wasn't short of women, so he hadn't bothered Li Ke earlier and naturally hadn't noticed her change.
That evening, Li Ke didn't go downstairs. Chen Jiaojiao came to knock on her door, and this time she simply told her to "get lost." The fake sisterly affection outside the door immediately stopped.
Chen Xian's return greatly affected Li Ke's mood. To calm down, Li Ke put down a box of gold bars and an electronic scale, sat on the floor of her room, and slowly weighed the gold.
Most importantly, she wanted to see if she could save up more space and time. Life was still peaceful now, but after the apocalypse, she would have to be careful and fight for her life at all times. Li Ke needed to prepare more escape routes for herself.
To be honest, Li Ke had never really understood the concept of gold. Before the apocalypse, she was a poor student. After the apocalypse, gold was only circulated among the upper class. People like her, who were struggling to make a living at the bottom of society, mostly traded food and clothing.
Li Ke originally thought that this box of gold weighed at most three or four hundred kilograms, because whether she put it into her space or released it, she hardly exerted any effort and only used her mind, so she really didn't have any personal feeling about it.
After releasing a box of gold, she reached out and tried to lift it, but couldn't; it was too heavy. Li Ke didn't dare to try again, afraid of making a noise and disturbing the people downstairs.
Li Ke fell silent when he weighed half of the gold in the box and the total weight showed 500 kilograms.
She continued to weigh the remaining gold bars in two separate weighings, and the final result showed that the box of gold weighed one thousand kilograms. Such a box that could hold five million actually contained one thousand kilograms of gold.
Li Ke weighed the four piles of gold in front of him again, and they still totaled one thousand kilograms.
She stared blankly for a while, then picked up her phone and started checking if one ton equals one thousand kilograms. Anyway, she was so dazzled by the gold that she suddenly felt her knowledge was insufficient. After checking, she went to check today's gold price.
Then she took out her calculator and did some more calculations. One box of gold was exactly one ton. She had twenty such boxes, not including some other gold items.
So she now has twenty tons of gold bars. Li Ke hurriedly multiplied the data she had just calculated by twenty. Looking at the many zeros at the end, Li Ke was not confident and went to check how many zeros were after one hundred million.
In the end, it was calculated that his twenty tons of gold were worth 9.6 billion.
Li Ke's first thought wasn't about how rich she was, but rather how incredibly rich Buddha was. The thought of all those antique jade ornaments she couldn't even estimate their value gave her a headache, but she quickly let it go. Why worry so much? First, she needed to find a way to exchange her cash and gold for supplies. As for antiques, she'd sell them if she could, and leave them if she couldn't.
Li Ke was sitting on the floor, lost in thought about the money, when a series of knocks on the door interrupted her.
Chen Zhizhi's voice rang out from outside the door: "Li Ke, I know you're in there. Open the door and let me in."
Nonsense, if she weren't inside, they could just turn the door and anyone could come in.
Li Ke put the gold and electronic scale in the room into his spatial storage, then stood up and looked around his room to make sure there was nothing that shouldn't be there before opening the door.
Chen Zhizhi stood outside the door with a rosy complexion. When she saw Li Ke, she only complained, "Why are you so slow?" before walking into Li Ke's room on her own.
Li Ke didn't close the door, but stood at the door and asked her, "Are you feeling better? You look great, it seems you have a good constitution."
Li Ke added in his mind, "I didn't hit you hard enough last time."
Chen Zhizhi rolled her eyes at Li Ke, looked around Li Ke's room for a while, and finally sat down on the chair in front of Li Ke's desk.
"This chair is really hard; it's not comfortable to sit in," Chen Zhizhi complained.
Perhaps because she had been taught a lesson by Li Ke, Chen Zhizhi was still arrogant and picky in front of Li Ke, but she was less condescending and looking down on people than before.
Li Ke stood leaning against the door frame, looking at Chen Zhizhi without saying a word. Chen Zhizhi cleared her throat before speaking again: "You've heard about what happened to me, haven't you?"
"What's wrong?" Li Ke was a little confused.
Chen Zhizhi gave a low hum and looked at Li Ke, saying, "Of course it's about my relationship with Zuo Hui. Doesn't the family already know?"
Chen Zhizhi's words carried a hint of shy joy, but Li Ke simply gave a dismissive "oh" without any real agreement.
Chen Zhizhi's face twisted slightly at Li Ke's nonchalant and indifferent reaction, but she quickly regained her beauty. She raised an eyebrow at Li Ke and said, "Zuo Hui, you've seen the news, so you know a thing or two about their family. They're the kind of extremely wealthy family. You couldn't even imagine how rich they are. Li Ke, now that I have the opportunity to enter such a family, I naturally don't want anyone to cause trouble. I hope we can get along peacefully from now on. If I really get what I want in the future, I will repay you properly."
