An hour later, someone came in, used a towel soaked in ice water to wipe Li Ke's face, and nudged her body, trying to wake her up.
Li Ke twitched her eyelids, and after a while, she pretended to be groggy as if she had been woken up.
"What happened to me? Where is Ruan Chun? Where is she?" Li Ke opened her eyes, looked around in a daze, and then asked.
“Miss has to leave, so she asked us to take care of you. Here’s some food and your clothes. Miss wants you to behave, or else you’ll be fed to the fish,” one of the maids replied slowly and deliberately.
Li Ke glanced at the light blue floral dress, a bowl of porridge, and a bowl of flatbread placed beside her, and asked, "When is Ruan Chun coming back?"
The maid ignored Li Ke and got up to leave.
Li Ke checked the time; it was already three in the morning. She poured the food brought by the maid into her own space and stored it away. Then she ate some of her own food to fill her stomach.
As dawn broke, Nguyen Xuan pushed away Gotham's arm and sat up in bed.
Gotham woke up too, and pushed Ruan Chun down onto the bed again: "Why are you up so early? Sleep a little longer."
Nguyen Xuan pushed away Gotan's unruly hands and said irritably, "If you can kill Nguyen Bang, I'll let you sleep with me for the rest of your life."
Gotham smiled and released her: "That day will come sooner or later."
Ruan Xuan got up and put on her clothes: "I have to rush back to report, and I have to receive guests this afternoon. There's not much time left."
Gotan, naked, got out of bed and hugged Ruan Chun, asking with a touch of domineering, "How will you receive me? The same way you would have accompanied me?"
Ruan Xuan chuckled self-deprecatingly: "You overestimate me. They like clean and tidy girls. Someone like me wouldn't catch their eye."
