Chapter 297 The Island

Li Ke didn't get a chance to make a move. The customers who came to trade with Ruan Bang didn't even stay for one night. After getting the goods they wanted, they immediately loaded them onto a ship and left the island.

Li Ke received a hint from Yan Bo, telling her to remain calm. Because she was being watched by the woman in the same cage, she didn't insist on going her own way. The group was soon taken to the cargo ship, put into new cages, and set off in another direction.

This time, their batch of goods were crowded together and locked in cages in the cargo hold. Yan Bo seized the opportunity and crawled into a cage next to Li Ke's cage, along with five teammates.

This buyer seems to have a preference for Asians; of the more than sixty items purchased, nearly fifty were of Asian appearance.

"After you get off the ship, no matter what happens, just take good care of yourself," Yan Bo whispered to Li Ke, leaning against the cage.

Li Ke sensed the hidden meaning in his words. Seeing that the woman was still staring at her, she simply tapped the cage with her finger in response and didn't ask any further questions.

After seeing off the fifth group of guests and goods to board the ship and leave, Ruan Bang stood on the shore and chatted with Gotan.

Although Gotham participated this time, he did not purchase any goods because he joined suddenly. Ruan Bang made it clear that he was not well-prepared. Unless there were any leftovers that were not sold, Gotham could buy them, otherwise he could not compete with his regular customer.

Gotham readily agreed. He hadn't come for the goods themselves, and he wasn't interested in anything that others had left over.

Ruan Bang invited Gotan and his guests to stay another night, promising to arrange for them to be well taken care of. Gotan watched the cargo ship sail away and did not refuse.

These cargo ships all belong to Nguyen Bang, and they return after dropping off passengers and cargo.

At several rendezvous points on the shore, teams were already waiting, having received word that they were there to help unload the cargo after the ship docked.

Li Ke and the others waited on the boat for an hour and a half before arriving at their destination. After the boat stopped, they were not allowed to disembark immediately. They waited on the boat for another two hours before someone opened their cabin door and forced them to disembark.

Stepping out of the cabin, the stars in the sky had already dimmed somewhat; dawn would break soon. Li Ke and the others disembarked and were ushered onto a truck.

There were four masked, armed men guarding them inside the truck. Judging from their tall stature, they were clearly not Chinese.

A group of people were in one car. Except for the four people who were escorting them, who had a spacious seat, everyone else sat on the floor, crammed together. Li Ke and Yan Bo finally sat together as well.

Unable to speak, Li Ke asked Yan Bo with her eyes why nothing had happened yet.

Yan Bo roughly understood what she meant, but could only blink in response and tell her to wait a little longer.

The two exchanged glances for a while, neither knowing whether the other understood or not, but neither could contain themselves.

When the car stopped again, it was already daylight. When Li Ke and the others were forced out of the car, they saw three larger cargo ships in front of them, using cranes to load cargo.

Li Ke watched as they used nets to move the quiet, enormous fish monster onto the cargo ship. His gaze then shifted to an even wider expanse of sea. He wondered where these three cargo ships were headed.

They were led to the deck to wait, their hands and feet bound with fine chains; even the children were not spared. The guards were somewhat lax at this point, and Li Ke, leaning close to Yan Bo, asked, "How much longer do we have to wait?"

If they wait any longer, who knows where they'll be resold to? Li Ke didn't want to drift aimlessly like this; her goal was to find Zhou Heng and his group.

Yan Bo scratched his head before whispering to Li Ke, "Wait a little longer, this ship won't leave too soon."

Li Ke felt he was being mysterious and threatened, "How much longer? If not, I'll jump ship and we'll go our separate ways."

Yan Bo moved closer to Li Ke and suddenly grabbed her hand from below, blinking as he said, "Don't be impulsive, it'll be over soon. There's still a batch of blood slaves that haven't been delivered yet, so let's wait a little longer."

Li Ke felt Yan Bo's hand moving on her handcuffs, and within seconds, she felt the lock on her wrist being opened.

Yan Bo carefully put her hand back, his ears burning slightly, and said, "Sit sideways and stretch your legs over here."

Li Ke moved as instructed, and Yan Bo carefully unlocked the lock on her foot as well.

After unlocking Li Ke's lock, Yan Bo started unlocking his own and his teammates' locks. Although they covered for each other and were very careful and discreet, they were still spotted by someone with ulterior motives.

The woman who had warned Li Ke earlier leaned closer again, asking in a low voice with a hint of curiosity, "What are you doing?"

Li Ke gave her a look that said, "It's none of your business." The woman frowned. By this time, the sun had broken through the clouds, and its rays, carrying a noticeable warmth, fell upon the group of people on the deck.

As the woman approached, Yan Bo handed the thin wire to his teammate and stopped what he was doing.

Although she didn't actually see anything, the woman was still quite clever; she reached out to grab Li Ke's handcuffs to see what was going on.

Li Ke grabbed her hand and stared at her coldly: "As a woman, I don't want to kill you. Don't ruin our plans."

The woman sensed Li Ke's strength, her brows twitched, and she cautiously said, "Help me, remove my handcuffs too."

Li Ke looked at her with surprise: "I don't understand what you're talking about. Sit still and don't move around."
