Li Ke and his group of fifty people split into two submarines. After traveling at high speed on the water for two hours, the submarines stopped. Ahead of them was the place where those giant sea monsters were trapped.
Some of these sea creatures were experimental subjects, while others were caught from the sea earlier. Once their habitat was determined, they were confined around this area to prevent outsiders and fish monsters from entering.
There's no need to worry about these sea monsters becoming a dominant force and running out of food, because the people on the ship will regularly send carcasses to feed them.
The corpse contained a huge amount of sedatives. Once the sea monsters calmed down, they would sail further away to catch some more fish monsters.
These fish monsters, though inedible to humans, can eat themselves without any problem. We can't keep feeding humans to the sea monsters, because they also need people; given the current situation, we have to be careful with our manpower.
The direction Li Ke and the others are currently facing is the one that truly faces the sea; the place they were in before was just a city submerged by the sea.
Whether it was due to the large temperature difference at sea or the recent sharp drop in temperature everywhere, Li Ke felt that the air was even colder as he stood on the deck.
Yan Bo's men also arrived in their boat and sailed alongside Li Ke's boat. Soon after, he also stood on the deck where Li Ke was.
"I brought some live fish, all of which have been drugged. Once the sea monster has eaten them and calmed down, we'll go all out again," Yan Bo said to Li Ke.
They had no intention of changing the status quo. Now that the military had taken over, the surrounding defenses were still at their disposal.
Li Ke saw those mutated fish, whose bodies were about the size of humans, being thrown onto the distant sea. After a short while, the seawater rippled, and they couldn't even see a single scale of the sea beast before the floating mutated fish disappeared without a trace.
It seemed that the sea monster had been hungry for a long time. Li Ke waved his hand, signaling them to throw out their food as well.
Yan Bo watched as those who still seemed to have some consciousness were placed on the throwing machine, his eyes narrowing slightly: "Actually, just killing them would have been enough."
Yan Bo didn't pity those people; he just didn't want them to cause truly normal people to lose their minds. He had seen many people go astray because of this and become unable to turn back.
Li Ke's gaze was cold: "It's just making use of waste. Besides, these people deserve to be treated like this; otherwise, it would be too easy on them."
Yan Bo didn't say anything more, but instead asked Li Ke why he brought two ships, which exceeded the quota they had given him.
Li Ke rolled her eyes at him: "You're the ones who asked me for a favor, but we still have to provide our own food and drink. I've already been generous by only bringing two boats. If you have any objections, I'll take my men and leave right now. We can go our separate ways."
Yan Bo had no choice but to shut up. More than an hour later, several unconscious fish-like creatures floated on the water in the distance. The water was calm for a while before Yan Bo ordered the fleet to set sail.
Five medium-sized submarines were sailing on the surface of the water. Unless there were special circumstances, no one would be on the deck, because the weather was getting colder.
The temperature wasn't too unbearable, but the sea breeze was unbearable. After contacting Xia Ji and his group, the submarine submerged and continued its journey underwater.
Yan Bo has already inquired with Xia Ji, and it's true that the period of significant cooling has arrived earlier than usual this year, with inland temperatures also gradually decreasing, possibly due to climate change caused by this disaster.
So far, things are going smoothly underwater. They regularly haul some mutated fish onto their boat, and if they encounter any large, monstrous sea creatures, they feed them to the monsters.
The meeting with Xia Ji and the others was two days later than planned. Rain and snow began to fall on the sea, and a thin layer of ice would freeze on the sea surface in the early morning and evening.
Li Ke was initially worried about the harsh weather. With their preparations, if extreme cold struck, their supplies would only be enough to get them through the winter, and the winter wouldn't last too long.
It wasn't until she boarded Xia Ji's ship that Li Ke realized she might have been overthinking things. What she could think of, Xia Ji, as the commander, must have thought of as well.
Xia Ji was traveling on an underwater aircraft carrier. This was the first time Li Ke had ever seen an underwater aircraft carrier. Xia Ji brought a total of 700 people, and together with the people brought by Li Ke and Yan Bo, there were nearly a thousand people in total. Everyone boarded the aircraft carrier where Xia Ji was.
Li Ke and Xia Ji had their first real meeting, and the atmosphere was very amicable and pleasant. Xia Ji didn't say a word about Li Ke bringing a lot more people with him.
Li Ke followed Xia Ji to visit some of the activity areas on the aircraft carrier, including a hospital, shops, sports rooms, a reading room, and various living facilities. Although some of them were temporarily closed, they were still amazing.
Xia Ji: "There are 3,000 crew members on the aircraft carrier, but only 1,000 of them are participating in this mission. The main cargo is fuel, weapons and supplies. All preparations are to ensure the smooth progress of this mission."
"On the aircraft carrier, you listen to the captain; for mission-related matters, you listen to me. In special circumstances, we will detach from the carrier and act independently."
Li Ke snapped out of her shock. It wasn't that she hadn't seen aircraft carriers before, but they were all retired foreign carriers, and they couldn't be submerged.
The seller was trying to persuade Li Ke to buy the aircraft carrier, but Li Ke wasn't interested. She didn't understand it, and even if she bought it, she knew she couldn't manage it all by herself.
She would love to buy it for free, but Li Ke didn't want to be ripped off by spending a large sum of money on a decommissioned aircraft carrier whose performance was unknown.
Li Ke: "Commander Xia is so well prepared. Judging from this, this mission will probably take more than three to five months to complete, right?"
