Chapter 338 Zero Floor

Li Ke: "What was the family's reaction?"

Xiao Ji: "They are very easygoing. They do whatever is arranged for them. Apart from their living requirements, they don't mention anything else."

Li Ke then asked, "Do they carry significant weight within the royal family?"

Xiao Ji frowned: "It's neither here nor there. Those who are very important won't take the risk to come out, and those who are not very important are not qualified to accept the invitation."

Li Ke: "So what are your plans?"

Xiao Ji thought for a moment: "Let's find out about the surrounding environment first. I have a feeling that we are separated from the other guests. I don't know if it's just us or if the other guests are the same?"

Although the problem is not yet apparent, Xiao Ji has a bad feeling about it, and this is the only arrangement he can make for the time being.

Thinking of the figure that had just appeared, Li Ke suggested, "I see some people of Asian descent here. Why don't you secretly grab a few and question them to find out what's going on? Maybe you can get some information out of them."

Xiao Ji nodded: "That's one way. Let's rest for tonight. We can't cause trouble right away. If we alert the other side, we might not even be able to participate in the solar energy mine exhibition."

Upon hearing this, Li Ke suddenly asked, "That Zheng family only wants me to accompany them. On the day of the exhibition, can you arrange for me to go in? What if I take the wrong thing if I can't see what it looks like with my own eyes?"

Xiao Ji replied without any hesitation, "Don't worry, I'll arrange it."

With everything settled, Li Ke was about to leave when Xia Ji suddenly added with some concern, "You mustn't act impulsively, and you can't act alone. We're not familiar with the surveillance here, and it's very likely that your every move is being watched."

Li Ke waved his hand and left, saying, "I know."

The first night passed peacefully. Li Ke had no shifts for the next few days. After breakfast, she went to the gym and exercised for a while.

Breakfast consisted of a few slices of dry bread, a bowl of mashed potato-like mixture, and a large cup of oatmeal-like porridge. It looked pretty good. Xia Ji tested it on a white mouse that she had brought with her before letting everyone eat.

Li Ke was still worried, so she secretly swapped these things with the food in her space, replacing them with her own bread, mashed potatoes, and oatmeal porridge. She would eat one item before swapping it, so no outsider could tell there was anything wrong.

There were more than 20 people in the gym, all of whom were their team members, as well as a few indigenous people. But after they arrived, these indigenous people began to focus solely on exercising and stopped talking to each other.

After exercising, Li Ke returned to her room and called a waiter to help her tidy up. The waiter was a white man, but Li Ke sent him away and asked him to send someone who could speak Chinese so that they could communicate better.

The second person to come was indeed a Chinese speaker, but she was a mixed-race black woman, quite pretty, and loved to laugh. Unfortunately, she wasn't the person Li Ke wanted to meet.

After changing her clothes, she went downstairs to stroll around the park outside. The plants there were real, the soil was full of life and nutrients, and the air was much better than outside.

But with so many buildings, it seems there aren't many people living here. The biological clock here simulates a normal day and night cycle. Li Ke observed last night that less than a third of the rooms had their lights on.

I don't know if there are really few people living here, or if there are few people with the lights on, but even so, there should be quite a few people.

The park was very quiet, with only a few elderly people and some people in work clothes occasionally moving around, totaling only a dozen or so people.

After walking for a while, Li Ke stopped a staff member and asked, "Excuse me, is there a lively place around here where I can relax and meet some new friends?"

The staff member also didn't speak Chinese. He used a translator to communicate with Li Ke, explaining that people living here prefer quiet, and there wasn't such a place in the residential area. If she wanted to relax, there was a bar on their floor where she could sit.

After Li Ke refused, the person left. Xia Ji came out of the building and sat down next to her: "We are indeed quarantined."

Li Ke looked at the people slowly walking in the distance and asked, "So what do we do? Just wait obediently?"

Xia Ji: "As long as they follow the normal procedures, we'll wait and see."

Throughout the day, Li Ke did not see the person she was looking for, so she could only listen to Xia Ji and wait patiently.

Night fell again. Xia Qing and Meng Yu had gone to rest. Chen Nanxing pulled Li Ke and Cao Xuan to play three-player checkers. The usually quiet Cao Xuan was quite good at it.

Chen Nanxing, who loves to play the most, is actually the worst at the game, but she has a good attitude and keeps wanting to play even though she keeps losing.

Around ten o'clock, Li Ke had a strange feeling, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong. Chen Nanxing urged her to take the next step.

Holding up the chess pieces, Li Ke asked, "Have you noticed that the temperature has dropped? Or that the humidity has increased?"

Chen Nanxing yawned: "It's normal for the temperature to drop at night."

Cao Xuan also started yawning: "It's too late, let's rest after this game?"

Li Ke placed a chess piece and looked at Chen Nanxing, who was yawning repeatedly: "Why are you suddenly so sleepy? Let's go to sleep after we finish this game."

Li Ke couldn't help but want to yawn as well. After another round, Cao Xuan was already resting his chin on his hand, not wanting to move anymore, and Chen Nanxing's eyes were also squinting so much that he could hardly open them.

Li Ke sensed something was wrong and told the two of them to get up and wash their faces. The two nodded vaguely in response, but didn't move at all. Instead, they lazily started to lie down on the table and sofa.
