Holding her money, Li Ke felt a cold sweat break out. She had been on the phone with Uncle Liu, shopping around and placing orders with every shopkeeper she met, and she had completely forgotten about the money in her pocket.
Li Ke chuckled awkwardly twice, then flattered Uncle Liu, saying, "I only met you and your family because you helped me so much; I didn't even remember any of that."
Uncle Liu nodded at Li Ke and smiled as if he were looking at a younger relative. Uncle Liu really liked this Xiao Zhou; he was rich and naive, practically a god of wealth delivered to his door.
Moreover, this person looks like a rich kid with no experience, just out having fun. But fortunately, he seems to have a good character. Getting to know him might be beneficial in the future.
Uncle Liu inquired further about Xiao Zhou's family members and learned that he only had an older sister who worked at the family company. He was just starting to learn the ropes. Uncle Liu also learned that Xiao Zhou was a single, unmarried young man, which made him even more interested.
His daughter is also single now, and judging from Xiao Zhou's character, it wouldn't be bad to try dating her.
Li Ke was unaware of Boss Liu's inner thoughts. She was actually in a bit of a dilemma. First, she hadn't expected Boss Liu to be so enthusiastic. Second, she was a little guilty and her actions were disorganized from the start. Now, following Boss Liu's shopping spree, she was actually quite haphazard.
The good thing is that her big shopping spree was mainly about food.
Knowing that Li Ke mainly needed large quantities of rice, flour, cooking oil, vegetables, dried fruits, fish, meat, chicken, duck, goose, eggs, and various seasonings, Boss Liu focused his efforts on these items.
He not only contacted his suppliers to send some grain and oil, but also notified some nearby grain and oil shops to inquire about their stock. Li Ke nodded that he needed it, so he arranged for it to be delivered as well.
The warehouse that Boss Liu found for Li Ke was originally a large grain purchasing station, but it was the off-season now, and two of the three warehouses were empty. So Boss Liu helped Li Ke find a way to rent the vacant warehouse.
Before 11 a.m., someone called to say they were at the warehouse gate. Boss Liu and Li Ke each rode their own bikes to collect the goods. There were three trucks: one carrying rice, one carrying noodles, and one carrying mixed grain flour, various vermicelli, seasonings, and cooking oil. Each truck had a load capacity of 2.5 tons.
The warehouse has a weighing scale and a forklift for unloading. Boss Liu stood aside watching the unloading, checking the goods with the checklist, and Li Ke stood next to him to learn and confirm.
The truck carrying mixed grains and oil was a bit slower to unload and check the goods, but after all the goods were unloaded and the accounts were settled, it only took forty minutes.
At this moment, Mr. Liu's son also drove over to deliver goods. Behind his car were six or seven trucks of different sizes, followed by three tricycles and a tractor, all of which were loaded with goods.
Boss Liu first calculated the bill for the first batch of goods: 2.5 tons of rice per truck, with three different prices, totaling 18,000 yuan.
The flour is also divided into medium-gluten flour, high-gluten flour, bread flour, dumpling flour, steamed bun flour, etc. The boss put together a truckload, 2.5 tons, for a total price of 23,000 yuan.
The total cost of the mixed grain flour and cooking oil was 52,000 yuan, and the three truckloads together totaled 93,000 yuan, which was much cheaper than Li Ke had imagined.
Mr. Liu's son and daughter were also helping to inspect and check the goods and verify the quantity. The warehouse was busy for a while. Mr. Liu found two more old partners to help with the inspection and unloading. Li Ke, on the other hand, became idle, just following Mr. Liu and listening to how he calculated accounts and dealt with the delivery people.
After working until midnight and finishing calculating the figures for the batch of goods being unloaded, Boss Liu invited everyone to take a break and go have a meal together.
For vehicles that haven't been unloaded, park them in the warehouse and come back to work after you've had lunch.
A group of nearly twenty people rode in a tricycle and went to Boss Liu's house with smiles on their faces. Boss Liu had already told his wife to prepare more food since there were so many people.
Finally, two tables were set up in the courtyard, and everyone sat down. Li Ke sat with Boss Liu as usual. At the table, Boss Liu introduced him as a friend's child and asked him to take good care of him.
Of course, Li Ke doesn't drink alcohol. He said he had important business to attend to in the afternoon and was afraid that drinking would cause him to miss things.
So, apart from the driver and Li Ke, who didn't drink, everyone else had a few drinks because the atmosphere was good.
As Li Ke ate his food, he felt that he was really lucky this time. Although the deal was a bit chaotic, it was really enjoyable.
In one morning, we received twelve truckloads of grain, oil and groceries, all food, and it only cost us 465,000 yuan.
Li Ke has already received ten tons of rice, eight tons of flour, and the rest are cooking oil, seasonings, and some grains and dried goods. These items are much more expensive than grains, but because the quantity is not large, it didn't cost too much money.
But these cooking oils and seasonings are for Li Ke alone, enough for a lifetime of sixty or seventy years.
After finishing their meal, everyone didn't linger and went back to the warehouse to continue their work.
Seeing Li Ke frowning while clutching his wallet, Boss Liu chuckled, "Grain prices are low, so it won't cost much. Besides, I've already gotten you quite a lot. Don't ever again talk about buying up an entire store like you did. Unless someone's closing down, they won't clear out their entire stock at once for the sake of their own business. But your buying method this time did make a small profit for everyone in the neighborhood."
Li Ke nodded in understanding. Boss Liu continued, "The wholesale market owner will be delivering the goods later. That's where the real money will come from. With the quantity you need, he can make a killing, and your money will just disappear like water."
