Xia Ji told Li Ke that five families had participated in the bidding for the solar energy mine, but the final result was not yet available. If no one raised the price before 8 p.m. tonight, the highest bidder would be the final winner.
Xia Ji was not involved, but they had a good relationship with one of the families and obtained some relevant information.
After 3 p.m., Li Ke and Xia Ji returned to the exhibition hall. Many booths had already been removed, and it was said that quite a few visitors had left.
But there were still many people in the exhibition hall, because there were quite a few local residents here. Li Ke had only recently learned from Xia Ji that the Zheng family was also one of the owners of Tianxing Paradise, which explained why they betrayed them.
As soon as Li Ke entered the energy and mineral exhibition hall, she sensed something was wrong. That feeling was gone. She walked past Xia Ji and came to the black crystal box. Everything was calm.
Xia Ji also sensed something was wrong: "What's wrong? You're acting strange today."
Li Ke stood there for a while longer, but still felt nothing. However, judging from the sight of the objects in front of him, they were unchanged from before.
The guards beside her stared intently at Li Ke, afraid she might make any move. Li Ke tentatively reached out her hand, and the guards quickly stopped her.
"Madam, this is a dangerous action, please stop!"
Li Ke withdrew his hand, walked around the booth once, and then led Xia Ji to the side.
"Do you have any plans? The solar energy mine has probably been switched; this one is fake," Li Ke said to Xia Ji in a low voice.
Xia Ji's expression turned slightly cold: "Are you sure? How did you figure that out?"
Li Ke lied and said, "I've been watching this thing for days. I can see even the slightest change. The black crystal box is different now."
Xia Ji did not doubt Li Ke's words. He thought for a moment and said, "Could it be that they just changed the box?"
Li Ke didn't speak, but her expression clearly told Xia Ji that such a possibility was not high.
Xia Ji frowned and pondered for a moment, then suddenly his expression changed. He said to the person behind him, "Go and ask around, see if you can find out what happened?"
The man obeyed and left quickly. Xia Ji then said to Li Ke, "The item is no longer here. Let's leave too. Things may have changed."
Li Ke thought about the bomb he had planted last night. The detonation time could only be postponed again. He didn't think about going through the trouble of taking it back. This place had done a lot of bad things, so it wouldn't be unfair to cause them some trouble.
As soon as the two stepped out of the energy and mineral exhibition hall, a rumbling sound came from underground. Li Ke and Xia Ji immediately sensed something was wrong and called to their companions behind them. They determined that the sound was coming from not far below them, and the group ran towards the entrance of the venue.
Sparks flew overhead, the lights went out all at once, the very center of the exhibition hall was blown apart, and those who couldn't escape in time were blown to pieces. People scattered and fled, but the explosions underground did not stop; they continued to spread.
The walls and pillars began to collapse, and the second floor also began to crumble. The door was right in front of them, and a heat wave was already hitting them from behind. Outside the door, the floor was also blown up by the explosions. For a moment, there was no way to escape.
The outside was just as chaotic. Li Ke leaped into the air, dodging a falling roof slab, and found a fallen pillar to land on temporarily. Xia Ji and his teammates landed three meters away. Li Ke pointed to the wall connected to the gate; she was going to blow it up to create an exit.
Xia Ji and the others had just seen Li Ke's movements when they saw the bomb he threw. The two of them moved to dodge, and the next second a loud bang rang out. Part of the wall broke, but it was not completely penetrated.
The bomb Li Ke threw wasn't particularly powerful; the situation here was already exciting enough. Li Ke only wanted to blast open a wall and didn't want it to sink underground.
Seven or eight more people climbed up the pillar where Li Ke was. The pillar was still sturdy, but the floorboards that the pillar head was pressing against had begun to crack, and the cracks were getting bigger.
Other people nearby, with nowhere else to hide, were still running towards the pillar. Li Ke shouted, "Don't come any closer! The pillar is about to sink!"
Unfortunately, no one listened to her. There was a huge blasted hole between Li Ke and Xia Ji. The underground looked very deep, and water was flowing in, slowly submerging the cables and the debris that had just fallen.
Xia Ji and his teammates had already run to the wall and were using brute force to smash through the broken part. Xia Ji was multitasking, and when he saw what was happening to Li Ke, he shouted loudly, "Li Ke, jump over here quickly!"
Li Ke's path was blocked. She looked at the people clinging to the pillars, completely clueless about how to save themselves, then leaped up, stepping on their bodies, and rushed towards the hole in the wall.
Victory was in sight, and Li Ke was about to leap over the pillar and leave the area when the pillar suddenly sank a few inches again, and another scream erupted behind him.
One of the people who had just arrived saw that this place had become a dead end. With nowhere else to go, he suddenly jumped up and grabbed Li Ke's leg: "Take me away, save me, take me with you!"
Li Ke was caught in mid-air, his body suddenly dropped, and the pillar behind him finally couldn't bear it and fell downwards.
Xia Ji was so shocked by this scene that his heart jumped into his throat. He shouted in a hoarse voice, "Li Ke!"
Li Ke caught herself on the edge of the floorboards that hadn't completely collapsed with one hand, and kicked the white man who was holding her leg hard with her other leg.
But below was a bottomless black current. At this moment, the man had completely regarded Li Ke as his lifeline and clung to him tightly, refusing to let go.
Li Ke's leg strength was considerable. With one kick, the man's head was already a bloody mess, and he looked unconscious, yet he was still clinging to her tightly. Moreover, this man was quite strong.
