She didn't press the button for the elevator; its descent and ascent were rather slow, she wouldn't need it, and it might attract the guards' attention.
After getting off the lift, Li Ke quickly moved downwards while hammering nails into the cave wall. With her abilities, hammering a long nail every three to five meters was enough for her to climb easily.
When she descended to a depth of a thousand meters, she only had a thin layer of sweat on her forehead. It wasn't from being tired, but from the increasing temperature inside the cave.
The cave was very dark, and it seemed bottomless below, with only a faint glimmer of light visible. However, this was nothing to Li Ke.
Her eyesight was still sharp enough to see her surroundings clearly. At this depth, she no longer needed to drive in nails. The cave walls here had three to five deep holes at intervals, and there were connecting protrusions between the upper and lower openings for climbing.
From these points onward, the cave walls hardened, resembling a combination of crystal and some stone. Li Ke tried to hammer a nail, which was much more difficult than the ones above. Sparks flew from the nail, and cracks appeared on the crystal wall where it struck, making it look rather unstable.
But even on such hard cave walls, those people dug out deep caves, each at least ten meters deep.
Li Ke came down and made some noise, but there was no response from anyone.
Some of these caves were inhabited, while others were empty. Li Ke coordinated with his spatial awareness and descended, gathering all the people huddled inside into the spatial bunker.
She put food and drinks inside, but locked the bunker's exit. She would only let these people out after she got out.
As they neared the bottom, Li Ke had gathered approximately four thousand people into the space, a number far exceeding her expectations.
However, along the way, she didn't see many corpses; to be specific, she didn't see a single intact corpse.
However, there were clues to be found: Li Ke discovered many dark bone tools in the caves and in the hands of many miners. She didn't think deeply about what had happened, nor did she want to investigate.
The deeper she went, the worse the miners' conditions became. Occasionally, she would encounter people crawling in and out of the caves, moving nimbly, but they had lost their human form.
After seeing so many of them, Li Ke felt disoriented, as if he had entered another underground world. These miners seemed to have transformed into a completely new kind of underground creature.
As Li Ke progressed, she became increasingly numb. She couldn't think straight, otherwise she would question her actions: Had she truly saved these people? Was what she was doing really meaningful?
When they were about ten meters from the bottom, Li Ke gathered more than two hundred people and also received more than ten light energy minerals wrapped in irregular crystals.
It looks like they collected all of this, but for some reason, they didn't send it up. Below that is the bottom; there are no more caves or miners there.
The spatial consciousness devoured all the light energy minerals into the black hole. Li Ke also sat down in the last cave. She was not in good condition. Her heart was beating abnormally fast, and her blood felt like it was about to boil.
In fact, her body was perfectly normal. The temperature here was so high that it seemed like it could melt a human body, but because of her physical mutation and the protection of the space, her body was not actually in great discomfort.
Li Ke couldn't explain why she was feeling so agitated. Her spatial consciousness had just consumed a lot of light energy and then disappeared again, so Li Ke had to temporarily stop her actions. She felt that something was wrong with her condition and wanted to go into the space for a while.
A second later, Li Ke was still in the same spot. She tried several more times, but she couldn't enter the space.
Enraged, Li Ke punched the cave wall, sending up a lot of pebbles and clods of earth. She took a breath, the good news being that her strength hadn't disappeared and was still very strong.
It was so intense that she seemed to be losing control and desperately needed to find a way to vent.
