Three days after the underwater base was destroyed, the Chinese military launched a fierce attack on the Western maritime defenses. The fighting lasted for a week at sea, and the West eventually made concessions.
The West had a very good plan: to give up such a small mine, teach China a lesson, and still gain some benefits through the transaction.
