This isolated island was originally a highland, but it was transformed into its current state after multiple tsunamis. There are more than 10,000 people living on the island.
As for Dr. Cheng, whom these people mentioned, he rarely appears in public, and no one knows his full name; his subordinates simply call him Dr. Cheng.
Li Ke felt a sense of familiarity upon hearing this title, wondering if this person was related to Boss Cheng, who had once tried to kidnap the Golden Book.
However, according to these five people, Dr. Cheng occupied the island not long after the first tsunami and has been developing his power there ever since, which made Li Ke somewhat uncertain.
After questioning them, Li Ke confiscated their weapons and sent them out to fish, while he sat in the cabin waiting for nightfall.
According to these individuals, there are patrol teams along the coast. When new people arrive, they must be reported and undergo a medical examination before arrangements are made based on the situation.
Li Ke naturally wouldn't go for a medical check-up, not wanting to attract too much attention. She decided to wait until dark to reach the shore, where she could easily enter the island using her speed and the cover of darkness.
After witnessing Li Ke's prowess, the six people on the ship became completely obedient to her and dared not resist in the slightest in order to survive.
The weather was cold and gloomy. After nightfall, the sea and the sky were the same dark color. Owen and Lao Wu sailed the boat back. When they were less than a hundred meters away from the island, Li Ke left the cabin and went to the bow.
The other four were on deck tallying up their catch for the day. As a fishing boat returning late, they were bound to be scolded by the guards on duty soon, so they decided to prepare everything as early as possible to save time and avoid getting yelled at.
Once the ship had completely docked, guards were already pointing powerful searchlights at the bow. Only then did the captain of the ship hurriedly disembark to negotiate.
The guard leader shouted a few words, then sent two men to the ship to check the situation. Only after seeing the cargo on the ship did he order them to unload and repackage the goods quickly.
After the crew members agreed, they quickly got to work, loading the remains onto the vehicle the guards had called. They also took half of the live fish they had caught themselves and handed them over, leaving the other half on the ship.
The group conducted a final check on the ship before confirming that the formidable woman was indeed missing. Even so, they dared not reveal a single detail about her to the guards.
After handing over the required items, they received two receipts and then dragged their tired bodies toward the island.
There were no more trucks available at this point, so they would have to wait until tomorrow to find a truck to take the remaining fish back.
Li Ke quietly sat on the roof of the cargo truck and drove with it deeper into the island. Most of the buildings they saw along the way were one or two stories high, with very few three or four stories.
The island is quite large, but only a few places are lit up, with most areas shrouded in darkness. Even so, Li Ke could still see that the island's greenery looked quite nice.
Li Ke originally thought the car would drive into Cheng Bo's headquarters, but it just entered a warehouse-like place.
After the guard parked the car in the warehouse, he went out and locked the door. Li Ke walked around the warehouse and realized that it was probably a temporary storage facility for fish catches.
Li Ke didn't take anything from the warehouse. Instead, he removed the railing from the window, jumped out, and then put the railing back on.
After evading the guards outside, Li Ke entered a main road outside the warehouse. She quickly ran towards a place where there was a lot of noise, using the green plants on her right as cover.
There were no cars or people on the road, and Li Ke was wearing a long black trench coat, shrouded in the shadows of tall green plants. Coupled with her incredible speed, it was very difficult to spot her with the naked eye.
Before even arriving at the location, just from the faint music and noisy voices, Li Ke knew it must be a bustling bar.
That direction was also unusual, with two neon lights flashing in different places.
Li Ke stopped in a dark spot across from the bar. The bar was bustling with noise inside, but the doors were tightly shut outside, and no one was out or coming out.
Li Ke jumped up on the spot, leaped onto the top of the wall, and then jumped towards the roof of the bar across the street. He found a rooftop entrance there and quietly sneaked in.
The second floor consisted of rows of small rooms facing each other, from which came the sounds of snoring and intimate intercourse. Li Ke passed these rooms and continued downstairs.
The first floor has a very spacious hall, and the rest of the space is divided into two parts: one part is for living and the other part is the kitchen. Li Ke looked around the kitchen storeroom and saw a lot of different kinds of wine, as well as a lot of flour, rice, and various seasonings. It seemed that the bar was quite nice.
The sounds of revelry were coming from underground. Li Ke found the underground entrance. The dance floor was mostly filled with men, but there were also quite a few women dressed scantily.
Outside, the temperature was below zero, but inside this basement level, the enthusiasm of so many people made it feel unbearably hot and stuffy.
Li Ke weaved through the crowd, entering the second basement level unaffected. Everyone she passed only felt as if their eyes were blurred for a moment, without noticing anything else.
The rooms on the second basement level looked much more luxurious than those upstairs. Li Ke listened to the sounds around him, then turned and entered an empty room.
The noise upstairs was too chaotic, and no one was seriously discussing anything; most of them were indulging in a drunken, decadent revelry.
