The man asked, bewildered, "Boss, are all of these going to that warehouse? There's no room for them all, is there?"
Li Ke thought for a moment and said, "Do you have a large assembly area here? Once it's assembled, I can arrange for it to be transported away myself, including the foundation. But I require that only my house be on the entire site, and no private individuals are allowed to enter."
The man said, "Okay, boss, please wait a moment. I'll calculate the cost for you now."
The man took out paper and pen and began to count how many room types Li Ke had selected and how many rooms there were in total.
After a while of writing and drawing, the man said, "Cement slab houses. You chose a total of fifteen types of cement houses. There are a total of one hundred and thirty-one rooms. Let me calculate for you how many rooms there are for each type of single room."
As the man spoke, he showed Li Ke the prices for single rooms of different sizes, which were divided into seven price ranges, from 7,000 to 14,000 per room, with the price increasing depending on the size and materials used.
Finally, the man calculated that the cost of Li Ke's cement house was 1.42 million yuan. The price of the prefabricated houses was different from that of the cement houses; each type of house had its own price. Li Ke selected twelve of them, ranging from villas with courtyards to one-bedroom apartments, with a total price of 1.67 million yuan.
The total came to 3.09 million. The man showed Li Ke the detailed calculation of the price and the total bill, saying, "Boss, are you sure about this price?"
Li Ke glanced at the price and said, "Are your materials different? I want the best materials. I'll be doing quality testing later. If it breaks after a few hits, I don't want this kind of thing."
"Boss, don't worry, just go ahead and test it. I won't charge you a penny if there are any problems," the man said generously.
Li Ke was also looking for convenience. Most of these houses would be kept in the space, and even when they were put out, they would have to be kept away from people. Therefore, some requirements didn't need to be too high.
"The promotional pictures I've seen all show completed renovations. I'd like to ask if you know any renovation teams? If so, I'd like to hire you to work on my project," Li Ke asked.
Upon hearing this, the man immediately replied, "Yes, yes, boss, you've come to the right place. If you're asking who's most familiar with the renovation team, it's definitely us construction workers. We have our own renovation company, and the basic layout and decoration of our mobile prefabricated houses are already in place."
Li Ke added, "But I also have certain requirements for the renovation. It doesn't need to be too complicated. Just do a good job with the basic renovation. The walls, floors, bathroom, kitchen, water and electrical circuits, and the placement of large appliances and furniture all need to be reasonable, safe and comfortable. And the materials should all be the best."
"No problem. After talking for so long, I still don't know your surname, boss? I'll give you your phone number now to our renovation manager, and she'll contact you later. Our manager is also a senior designer, very conscientious and responsible, and she can handle all the renovation issues for you." The man quickly replied.
Li Ke: "My surname is Chu. I'd like to ask how long it will take to deliver the goods?"
The man took his hand off his phone and said to Li Ke, "Boss Chu, our cement houses will be handed over very quickly, in less than two weeks. However, if you include the decoration, it may take longer."
As soon as the man finished speaking, Li Ke's phone rang. Li Ke picked it up and saw that it was an unfamiliar number. The man glanced at the number and quickly said, "This is our designer Sun's phone number. I just contacted her and gave her your number as well."
Li Ke answered the phone, and a calm female voice came from the other end: "Hello, is this Mr. Chu? I am Sun Yu, the person in charge of the decoration and the designer of Wenyi Cottage."
"Hello, I am Chu Ming."
"When does Mr. Chu have time? How about we meet to discuss the renovation details?" Sun Yu's style was very decisive and efficient.
Li Ke said, "I'm at the construction site now. I'll have time after I pay the deposit."
“I’ll go over now, and we can have lunch together later. You can also tell me your requirements again so we can confirm and discuss them,” Sun Yu replied immediately.
Li Ke: "Okay, see you in a bit."
The man kept staring at Li Ke, and only after Li Ke ended the call did he say softly, "Mr. Chu, let's go pay the deposit now, and I'll give you a receipt."
Li Ke followed the man to the container office at the construction site. The room was very simple. There was a table and a chair near the door, and a single bed inside, half of which was covered by a floral curtain.
Li Ke didn't look at it much. The man opened the drawer of the table, took out the receipt and the company seal, and then took out a new brochure and handed it to Li Ke: "Boss, take this book. You can choose all the room types in it. You can check it against the goods later. You might need it when you're with Sun Yu later. If you don't need it, just keep it and check it against the goods when you receive them." The man said with a simple smile.
Li Ke accepted the offer, and the man rubbed his hands together and asked, "Boss, these houses require a minimum deposit of one million. Would you like to transfer the money or pay in some other way?"
Li Ke thought for a moment and asked, "Would gold work?"
"What?" The man had never encountered this situation before and asked blankly.
Li Ke: "Can I use a deposit for gold worth one million? It's inconvenient for me to transfer money through a bank right now, but there won't be a problem when I receive the goods."
The man thought for only a second before decisively nodding: "Okay, no problem."
Li Ke took off his backpack and asked, "Are you the boss of this construction site?"
The man scratched his head and chuckled, "Yes, that's me. Don't I look a little like it?"
Li Ke: "No, I hope the boss will put in more effort. We'll have a pleasant working relationship."
