When the weather should have warmed up, it was unusually snowy and cold. The world's disorder is a constant reminder to humanity, urging them to find a way to save themselves as soon as possible.
After the fighting subsided and another night passed, Cage and Vincent's ship sailed to Li Ke's location, conveying their willingness to return the hostages and negotiate peace.
Cage led a team of thirty people, taking Mo Bao'er and five other women in a small boat, to the side of the warship where Li Ke was located. Someone was already waiting in front of the elevator to pick them up.
After the group successfully reached the deck, Cage finally met Li Ke face to face. The woman stood in the wind and snow, only glancing at them briefly before turning and entering the cabin.
As Cage followed them inside, he asked the crew who had brought them aboard what the situation was on the ship.
The crew member replied truthfully: "The captain and the other crew members have been locked up. Only 150 of us are left to maintain normal operations on the ship. There are bombs on the ship. If anyone resists, she will blow up this place just like she did the previous ship."
Upon hearing this, Cage let out a deep breath. He was somewhat helpless in the face of such a person, and could only hope that Vincent's method would work.
Thinking of this, he turned around and looked at the several women behind him, who were wrapped in thick cotton-padded clothes and still huddled together, needing to be surrounded and helped by his teammates to move forward. He felt that he had no chance of winning.
After leaving the deck and entering the cabin, everyone's posture became more stable, and the hostages were finally able to walk properly on their own.
Upon entering the conference room, Li Ke sat alone at the head of the table. Cage had already taken off his coat. He looked at the woman opposite him, who, despite being alone, exuded the presence of a thousand troops, and was momentarily speechless.
After a long pause, he nodded and said, "Hello, Miss Li Ke. I am Cage, the representative of this peace talks. I am honored to meet and talk with you in person."
Li Ke didn't speak, but the two women behind Cage spoke first.
"Li Ke, hurry up and tell them to let us through! You have no idea what these people have done to us!" Chen Jiaojiao shouted.
Chen Zhizhi also shouted, "Where is Dr. Cheng? Li Ke, my son is waiting for his surgery! I've never offended you since, you can't keep ruining my life!"
Li Ke looked at the women. Although Chen Jiaojiao's voice sounded quite aggrieved, her face didn't look like someone who had suffered a lot.
When Li Ke met Mo Bao'er's gaze, the other woman's eyes held a complex expression. After a moment, she forced a smile and returned it to Li Ke, which wasn't very pleasant.
Cage waved his hand to clear a path for his men, then gestured for the five hostages to go to Li Ke's side. Seeing his gesture, Chen Jiaojiao grabbed Li Zhenzhen and ran towards Li Ke. Chen Zhizhi and He Ru followed closely behind, while Mo Bao'er moved much slower but still followed.
When Li Ke saw Chen Jiaojiao trying to stand next to her, she immediately chased her away, saying, "Stay away from me."
Upon hearing Li Ke's cold command, the people who had rushed over stood behind him, choosing several spots against the wall, only two steps away from him.
After seeing that the women had all gone to the other side, Cage spoke again: "Although the method we used this time may not be appropriate, please believe us, Miss Li Ke, that we sincerely want to cooperate with you and invite you to be our guest."
"While we did force these ladies to do a few things, there was absolutely no abuse involved. I think you might need some time to catch up, so we'll wait outside for a bit before discussing anything else."
Li Ke nodded: "Please go ahead."
Cage led his men to stand in the outer corridor. Li Ke also stood up and turned to look at Mo Bao'er, who was standing alone in the corner: "Did they bully you or do anything bad to you?"
Mo Bao'er met Li Ke's gaze with a faint smile and shook her head: "I'm fine. We're all still alive, which is good."
She knew that she had caused Li Ke some trouble again. Although Li Ke's mother and her younger sister were there, Mo Bao'er could sense that Li Ke valued her more.
Hearing Mo Bao'er's ambiguous words, Chen Jiaojiao was extremely dissatisfied. She immediately said, "How can nothing have happened? Those perverts gave us all ovulation-inducing injections and extracted our eggs. Except for that old woman, we all suffered greatly, all because of you!"
The old woman Chen Jiaojiao was referring to was He Ru. He Ru snorted at her, then looked at Li Zhenzhen and said, "You treat your promising daughter like trash, while you spoil a fool like a treasure. Isn't this your retribution? Too bad, it's not bad enough. Li Zhenzhen, you are the most shameless woman I've ever met! You should go to hell!"
Li Ke ignored their argument and said to Mo Bao'er, "Come sit here."
Mo Bao'er obediently walked over and sat down in the spot Li Ke pointed out. She lowered her head, blinked a few times, and then looked up and said, "Do you know that I am your sister?"
Li Ke nodded: "I know, you don't need to worry too much. Go back and live a good life with your family. I won't get involved."
Mo Bao'er concealed the sudden surge of grievance and longing for her father, and asked, "Why? Dad misses you very much. After he learned about your accident, he fainted several times and kept wanting to go out to sea to find you. But his health couldn't keep up, so in the end I went out to sea in his place."
I used to resent you for making Dad sick, but now I want you to come back with me so our family can live peacefully together. Wouldn't that be better? I don't want to experience that kind of separation of life and death again.
