At 11 o'clock, Li Ke boarded the high-speed train back to City B. When he got off the train at 3:30 pm, he was greeted by the scorching sun as he exited the station. The weather was getting hotter and hotter.
In recent years, spring and autumn have almost been squeezed out by summer and winter. Li Ke walked out of the station and reached out to flag down a car. There were quite a few people waiting for the car, so it was not easy to get a ride.
Li Ke was sweating profusely. She took out a parasol from her backpack, held it up, and walked several hundred meters until she reached a fork in the road and finally managed to flag down a taxi.
Li Ke thought to herself that she would wait another half a month or so until she turned eighteen on her ID card, and then she would take the driving test.
In her previous life, Li Ke had never taken a driving test. The reason she was able to drive later was because Xiao Yi taught her step by step.
Later, Xiao Yi left, and she forged her own path, becoming increasingly reckless. No matter what kind of car she was in, whether she had ever driven one before or not, she would dare to drive it once she got in.
Now, with some time still to go before the apocalypse, she still has her own car and driver's license, making it more convenient for her to travel.
On the way back, Li Ke saw many girls or couples walking by with flowers. She was momentarily dazed, took out her phone to check the date, and realized that today was July 7th, a Sunday in the Gregorian calendar.
Although she hadn't prepared cooked food, gasoline, diesel, water, ice, coal, solar energy, vehicles, ships, weapons, dog food, and cat food in her space, the things she already had gave her a sense of security.
Unlike before, I won't always be on edge, afraid that I've gained a spatial artifact but won't be able to make good use of it before the apocalypse.
When Li Ke returned to the Chen family home, only Grandma Chen and Aunt Chen were sitting and watching TV. When they saw Li Ke return, they were slightly taken aback, as if they had forgotten that she existed.
Li Ke walked past them and went straight upstairs. She had already spoken to Chen Zhizhi on the phone. The largest room on the east side of the third floor was now her new room.
Chen Zhizhi's words carried a hint of self-praise, as if she had put a lot of effort into the new room and Li Ke should be grateful to her. Li Ke hung up the phone without listening to what she said next.
Chen Zhizhi was at the shooting range with her boyfriend Zuo Hui. Zuo Hui was practicing shooting, and Chen Zhizhi tried a few rounds as well, but she really didn't have any talent for it. Not wanting to embarrass herself any further, she went to the rest area and sat down to watch Zuo Hui practice.
Just as she was getting bored, Li Ke called. Chen Zhizhi wanted to chat with her a bit more, but Li Ke hung up on her again. Chen Zhizhi couldn't help but curse her inwardly for being heartless, and then she felt that she had been acting like a fool lately, always trying to please Li Ke.
Thinking of this, Chen Zhizhi became even angrier. Sooner or later, she would get the video back and give Li Ke a good beating.
"Li Ke, you stop right there! You little brat, you're getting more and more arrogant. You're in my house, and you don't even know how to greet people when you come back?" Grandma Chen stood up and called out to Li Ke, walking quickly toward her. Her arms and legs were so nimble that she didn't look like someone over seventy years old.
Li Ke stopped: "What is it? Didn't you tell me before that I shouldn't bother you unless it's important, and that I should be quiet whether I'm coming in or leaving, and not go out of my way to annoy you?"
Grandma Chen glared at me, put her hands on her hips, and said in a very unreasonable manner, "Don't try to shut me up. In our house, I can do whatever I want and say whatever I want. Who do you think you are, daring to talk back to me!"
Li Ke took a step back, holding his phone, and distanced himself from the old woman. The old woman always spit when she spoke, so it was safer to stay away.
“No, you’re wrong. You don’t dare to openly scold your husband, you only dare to secretly curse him to death. You don’t want Aunt Zheng to stay in the Chen family, so you always secretly beat her voodoo dolls, but you don’t dare to kick her out either. You see, you do all these things at home in secret.” Li Ke deliberately denied Grandma Chen’s words, slowly and deliberately provoking her.
"You sharp-tongued little bitch, have you got some nerve talking to me like that? Xiao Chen, grab her and beat her up!" Grandma Chen's face turned ashen with rage, her chest heaving as she ordered Aunt Chen.
Aunt Chen's eyes were filled with excitement, and she was eager to try it out. She looked around, looking for a handy tool to beat up that brat Li Ke.
Li Ke held up the video recording on her phone for them to see: "If you dare to lay a hand on me, I'll post your ugly, unreasonable, and violent behavior online. Didn't Chen Zhizhi find a boyfriend from a good family? If her boyfriend's family saw you acting like this, do you think they would still be willing to get married?"
Grandma Chen was even angrier, but although she looked very angry and upset, she still spoke with a strong voice: "Little Chen, snatch her phone and smash it! I'm going to teach this little bitch a lesson today!"
Upon hearing Grandma Chen's words, Aunt Chen lunged forward, attempting to snatch the phone from Li Ke's hand.
Li Ke was somewhat impressed by her rapid movements; she weighed 150 or 160 pounds, yet she possessed such explosive power. Unfortunately, she encountered Li Ke.
In Li Ke's eyes, her actions were full of flaws. Just as Aunt Chen was about to grab her phone, Li Ke turned around in a flash, causing Aunt Chen to miss her target. Then, Li Ke patted her on the shoulder, and the woman fell flat on her face, unable to get up for a long time due to the pain.
Unlike the living room, which has a carpet, this place has smooth ceramic tiles on the floor. Aunt Chen's screams, one after another, made Li Ke feel pain just listening to them.
Li Ke asked Grandma Chen, "Should we call an ambulance for her condition? Ambulances are expensive, but they come very quickly."
"You still dare to talk back? I'll tear your mouth apart!" Grandma Chen's face was contorted as she stretched out her arms to scratch Li Ke's face. This wretched girl's face had healed again, and she was going to cause trouble in this house again. Grandma Chen hated not only Li Zhenzhen's face, but also Li Ke's face.
