Chapter 73 Looting Everything

Li Ke stared dumbfounded at Qin Mingyue's series of actions until the cellar door was completely closed. Only then did she stop her performance and run to the doorway, banging on it haphazardly to urge Qin Mingyue outside to open it quickly.

After a while, without receiving any response, Li Ke continued down the stairs into the depths of the cellar. At the deepest part, near a wine cabinet, Li Ke heard some unusual sounds.

Mixed with the man's heavy breathing and the woman's soft moans, the sounds were faint and barely audible. She had to press herself against the wall and tilt her gaze further to see a thin, faintly glowing ray of light. Even with a strained look, Li Ke could no longer see what was happening inside.

In her previous life, Li Ke heard the faint sound and, after searching, discovered that the wall seemed somewhat different. However, it was blocked by a tall wine cabinet, and her status also prevented her from touching anything there.

Later, the sound disappeared, and she was locked in the wine cellar alone for a long time. The extreme silence made her return to the wine cellar steps, where she hugged herself tightly and dared not move for a long time.

It wasn't until later, when she heard Zhuang Weifeng boasting to his friends about his uncle's wealth, that Li Ke realized the sound she had heard must have come from the castle's underground vault.

The treasure vault is probably next to this wine cellar. Just like in my previous life, there are people inside now, at least a man and a woman. Li Ke's hearing has become much more sensitive, so he naturally picked up on some of the contents.

She didn't quite understand, but she could tell that they were speaking Japanese, the kind of Japanese that would make her blush and her heart race. Li Ke even began to doubt whether she was mistaken, or if the next room was a cosplay basement.

However, since he was hearing Japanese, Li Ke couldn't help but think of Tanaka, whom he had met that night, and wondered if the person next door was that old pervert.

Having confirmed that the current situation would be the same as in her previous life, Li Ke lost interest in eavesdropping and turned to walk around the wine cellar.

Just like in my previous life, I didn't see any electronic monitoring equipment; the only light source in the wine cellar was warm yellow lights embedded in the ceiling.

Li Ke took out the testing equipment again and tested it once more to confirm that there were no surveillance cameras inside. Then he ran back up the steps and knocked on the wine cellar door, calling out to Qin Mingyue: "Miss, are you still there? Please open the door for me. I have already chosen the wine."

Li Ke knocked on the door more than ten times without receiving any response. She then took out an iron padlock and locked the wine cellar door from the inside to prevent anyone from coming in.

Li Ke returned to the wine cellar, walked to the innermost wine cabinet, and listened carefully. There was no sound from next door.

Li Ke pressed her cheek against the wall again and peered through the crack into the next room. The light was already very dim and the angle was challenging. Li Ke tried again to see if she could see anything, but ultimately failed.

Li Ke listened carefully against the wall for a while, and after confirming that there was no smell next door, he wiped away all traces of himself that he had made by pressing against the wall. Then he went to a dimly lit place and disguised himself as very burly.

Standing in front of the wine cabinet, Li Ke reached out and put the wine cabinet into his spatial storage. Only after the massive wine cabinet was removed did Li Ke realize that the wall that the wine cabinet had been blocking was actually a heavy, thick iron door.

The reason Li Ke could see a sliver of light from the next room was because the iron door and the wall weren't completely connected; there was a slight gap.

The most ingenious thing was that the iron door wasn't locked; it seemed to be simply embedded in the wall. After putting away the wine cabinet in front of him, Li Ke didn't take another step forward.

Li Ke didn't immediately take out the lock-picking and wall-digging tools she had prepared. She took a deep breath. Her current actions were somewhat of a gamble. She couldn't hear anyone else next door, but that didn't rule out the possibility that they were just far away from the wall and Li Ke couldn't hear them right now.

Thinking back to the post-apocalyptic world, and how inhumane people like Tian Zhongsheng and Zhuang Yihao lived such extravagant lives, Li Ke realized she had a chance to swindle them out of their fortunes, and she was willing to take the gamble.

Li Ke didn't move, but bent down and tried to touch the iron door. Immediately, his eyes were filled with nothing. The magnificent, jewel-studded underground treasure vault did not appear before Li Ke's eyes.

Before her lay piles of boxes. Through the gaps between the boxes, Li Ke could see some glittering, jewel-encrusted edges. Her eyes darted around, but she didn't see anyone inside. At this point, there was no way to back down now.

Li Ke reached out and collected all the boxes in front of him. His mind went blank for a moment. There were quite a lot of things that he had collected at once. Li Ke shook his head. Even from the outside, this treasure trove was much bigger than the one at Qingshan Temple. The thing in front of him was about the size of a basketball court.

Li Ke thought that Zhuang Yihao and Tian Zhongsheng were still able to live a life of extravagance and luxury after the apocalypse, and they even maintained a mercenary team of 500 people. He figured that this batch of treasure must have helped them a lot.

Holding the detector, finding no anomalies or surveillance, Li Ke lightly stomped on her shoes, which were much too big but tightly fitted, to test the feel of them. Then, she leaped into the treasure vault, finally landing on a treasure chest.

Although the man had said that many privately owned, super-rich collections that couldn't be made public wouldn't have surveillance cameras installed, Li Ke still felt she needed to be cautious.

The vault was at least four or five meters high, and it looked like it was more than a meter lower than the wine cellar floor. At this moment, the vault was indeed empty. The vault's light source came from a huge golden floor lamp in the center, which had a glass cover on top and looked like it was made of gold to Li Ke.
