"It's a ghost! Daya, it really is a ghost! That ghost possessed your mother and then flew towards me with your mother! Daya, find me another place to stay and rest. Our house is haunted, I won't go back to live there..." Old Master Chen was excited again as he spoke to his eldest daughter.
Listening to her father's words, Chen Ziyue turned to look at her younger brother, Chen Niansheng. Chen Niansheng shook his head slightly in resignation. The old man had already told them this once, but no one believed him, and no one dared to contradict him either.
The old man is just getting a little better, but he'll yell at anyone who argues with him!
"Alright, alright, I'll find you another place to recuperate. I happen to own a villa that's empty. Dad, you can stay there after you're discharged." Chen Ziyue didn't believe her father's words, but with one misfortune after another in the family, changing the feng shui would be good. Having been in business for a long time, they cared about this to some extent.
“Niansheng and the children will also have to move with me and live with me. As for your mother, just find her a nursing home and make sure she doesn’t show up in front of me anymore.”
After being discharged from the ICU, Mr. Chen has fully recovered. Although his chest still aches, his spirits are still good. Fortunately, it was just a small pair of scissors, no bigger than the palm of his hand, otherwise it could have really killed him.
Old Master Chen now both hates and fears Old Lady Chen. This old woman is really going to die, and he wants to drag her down with him. Otherwise, she's already possessed by a ghost, so why would she still want to kill him?
It's clear that the old woman had always wanted him dead, and this time she was using the power of the ghost to try and kill him one last time!
"Go and invite a master, no, invite several masters, let them come and take a look at me and your mother..." Old Master Chen continued to instruct, not daring to close his eyes and rest until everything that needed to be explained was clearly stated.
“Dad, there’s no need for this. It must have been that Mom had a fit of hysteria when she was having her episode, which is why she accidentally hurt you. If you’re really bothered by this, we can just move to another place. There’s no need to hire a master, is there?” Chen Niansheng suggested from the side.
Most of the so-called "masters" these days are frauds, and Chen Niansheng has always believed that his own ideas are the most accurate representation of the situation at the time.
“Shut up! Your dad isn’t senile yet! Da Ya, you’re in charge of this. You absolutely have to get a master to come and take a look, do you hear me?” Old Master Chen emphasized, holding his daughter’s hand.
Although Li Zhenzhen has been busy and tired these past two days, she feels very happy. Old Mrs. Chen is now lying in bed all day with her eyes wide open, but she can't say a word.
Old Master Chen survived, but he was still as frightened as a bird startled by the mere twang of a bow, constantly afraid of this and that.
Even more encouraging is that Chen Xian, the eldest son of the Chen family, has just been discharged from the ICU and has been diagnosed by doctors as a person who will become disabled in the future.
Moreover, the police couldn't find any information about the suspect, but instead discovered that Chen Xian was a drug addict. If he weren't so badly injured, they would have sent him to a drug rehabilitation center first, and then to a detention center.
Li Zhenzhen calmly placed her hand on Chen Niansheng's back, silently comforting her husband who had just been scolded by his father.
In the next ward, Chen Zhizhi sat by Chen Xian's bedside, her eyes red from crying. Although she and her older brother were not as close as they were when they were young, in the Chen family, after her father remarried, she and her brother were the two closest relatives.
Seeing her older brother lying in bed with all four limbs useless, how could Chen Zhizhi not be heartbroken and in pain!
Unable to find anything from the police, Chen Zhizhi asked Zuo Hui for help. Although Zuo Hui had been somewhat cold towards her lately, he promised to do his best to help her investigate.
Chen Zhizhi did have one person she suspected: Li Zhenzhen.
Upon seeing her brother's horrific injuries and hearing from the police that the investigation was still ongoing and no results could be given at the moment, Chen Zhizhi began to accuse Li Zhenzhen.
"It's her! She's the one in this family who most wanted my older brother to get into trouble! And she might have been the one who caused my grandparents' troubles too! My grandparents have always looked down on her as their second daughter-in-law, so she must have done all of this!"
Outside the ward, Chen Zhizhi accused Li Zhenzhen to the police. Li Zhenzhen's hands and feet trembled, and she was so angry that she said, "I didn't do it. If the police want to investigate, I will cooperate fully. I have done nothing wrong and I am not afraid of others smearing me."
Chen Niansheng angrily yelled at Chen Zhizhi, "What nonsense are you talking about! Your aunt was with me the whole time your grandparents had their accident. And your brother, your aunt really wanted to hit him. You two have survived this long, you must be out of your mind!"
Enraged, Chen Zhizhi blurted out, "You're the one who's bewitched! You're all bewitched! You married her, and you've forgotten my mother and your son!"
Chen Niansheng slapped her to stop her madness. From then on, Chen Zhizhi stayed by her older brother's bedside and never went near Chen Niansheng unless necessary.
She would occasionally visit her grandparents, as Chen Zhizhi didn't want to end up giving everything in the Chen family to Li Zhenzhen.
Further away is Grandma Chen's ward. Actually, the doctor said that Grandma Chen's condition is gradually improving. With good care and continued rehabilitation, she may be able to recover to the point where she can speak and eat on her own.
Currently, Grandma Chen's room is the most deserted. Two professional caregivers take turns taking care of her, turning her over, washing her, feeding her, and so on. Aunt Chen accompanies and serves her all of these things.
The old lady couldn't control her bowel movements, so no matter how frequently the house was cleaned, there was always a lingering odor.
After visiting her father, Chen Ziyue left the ward, and Li Zhenzhen followed her out to see her off. Chen Ziyue decided to visit her nephew first, and Li Zhenzhen stood at the door and said, "Go in, I'll wait for you outside."
Chen Ziyue patted her arm: "I believe you. Zhizhi was just in a hurry. I'll explain it to her."
