"I know where you're going, please be careful," Tian Yingmei said softly with concern. Li Ke glanced back at her, nodded, and left.
Once out of sight of the crowd, Li Ke descended a small slope and began to run, carefully making sure not to take out any means of transportation from her spatial storage.
Does anyone know if there are any scouts around here? It's best to be careful.
Although he was sitting in the train carriage on the way here and didn't know the route very well, the traces of the road were still there, so Li Ke just ran along the road.
Around noon, they saw the green forest in the distance, which was the village where they had been brought. After finding a place to eat something, Li Ke set off again without resting.
After running for more than an hour, Li Ke's clothes were soaked with sweat. This was mainly due to the high temperature and the rapid running, but it didn't actually take much of her energy out of her.
Upon approaching, Li Ke listened intently to various sounds. Everything was quiet, and she heard no gunfire. She didn't know if the operation hadn't started yet or if it had already ended.
As soon as she entered the woods, Li Ke felt as if she had been locked onto. She instinctively threw a few knives and then quickly dodged. The bullets grazed her body, and she narrowly avoided them.
But just as Li Ke rolled over to get back up, several red dots simultaneously landed on her body, and Li Ke raised her hands in surrender.
Two men approached with guns. Li Ke glanced at them; the red dot on her hadn't moved yet, and there were other people elsewhere locking onto her.
One of them spoke a phrase in the local language. Li Ke blinked, and seeing the person's attire, she guessed what he meant: "I don't understand."
Upon hearing Li Ke's reply, the other person paused for a moment before asking, "Are you Chinese?"
This time, the other person spoke Mandarin. Li Ke noticed that although they were wearing local traditional clothes, their Chinese features were still quite obvious upon closer inspection. She nodded and asked, "Who are you? Are you Chinese soldiers? What are you doing here?"
The two men remained vigilant, especially since Li Ke's clothes were suspicious. One of them said sternly, "This has nothing to do with you. No matter who you are, your presence here is suspicious. We are going to search you and then take you away for questioning."
When Li Ke saw one of the men approaching her with a gun, she quickly said, "I need to see your leader. I was sent to the island with Yan Bo and the others. I have news to report."
