After Meng Yu finished speaking, the air in the room became even heavier. Xia Qing sighed, "Ke Ke, Xiao Yu didn't mean it. Don't mind her. If you don't want to go down, just wait for us upstairs."
Meng Yu bit her lip and said, "Keke, I'm sorry. I was in a hurry and said the wrong thing. I didn't mean it that way."
Li Ke glanced at his two teammates who were pretending to be busy and said, "Let's decide by vote. Raise your hand if you don't want me to be eliminated."
The other four people in the room did not raise their hands. After two seconds, seeing that Li Ke still did not speak, Xia Qing was about to raise her hand, but Li Ke stopped her again: "Since everyone wants me to go down, I will go too."
Chen Nanxing broke the deadlock first: "Hey, we're on the same team, of course we should act together, why bother with a vote? Hurry up, pack your things, we're going to spend the night underwater tonight."
Xia Ji was a little surprised, but not so surprised, to see Li Ke among the team members.
He addressed the crowd, saying, "At all times, you must prioritize your own safety. If you encounter something impossible, retreat immediately and don't be reckless."
The two teams consisted of sixty people in total. Xia Qing was appointed as the deputy captain, and the first underwater commander was another male captain who had more seniority than Xia Qing, so no one had any objections.
After entering the water and arriving at the edge of the black hole, two hours had passed. Outside the black hole, some mutated fish were still swimming around, but inside, there were no more signs of life.
The submarine descended to a depth of fifty meters, and as expected, it could not go any further. Meng Yu volunteered to go out and explore the area below. Although no one said it aloud, many people believed that the missing person might have been swallowed by this black hole, and that it was somehow related.
The male captain refused her request. It was getting late, and he planned to lead his team out of the black hole. After they left the black hole, they could send twenty team members in to explore a depth of ten meters.
The male captain's plan was to proceed cautiously. Since they didn't know what was fifty meters below the black hole, they would go up to the top, slowly explore those fifty meters first, and then continue downwards.
During the initial 10-meter exploration, Li Ke also participated in the operation wearing diving equipment and a headlamp. His main task was to explore and take pictures around the cave walls, and to collect any unusual substances encountered.
The captain first released some mutated fish at the entrance of the black hole. After letting go, the mutated fish quickly swam out of the hole, showing great resistance to this place. The good thing is that they were not sucked in at this distance.
Li Ke and his group went down into the black hole, remaining relatively close to each other. The black hole was enormous, and the entrance wasn't a perfectly round circle; its diameter was nearly two hundred meters. It was unlikely that Li Ke and his group of twenty could completely enclose the entire cave wall.
Currently, they are only exploring the area slowly, hoping to find something if possible, but if not, they will have to give up. In short, they must avoid the possibility of more companions being lost here.
The mission was carried out by forty team members in rotation, while another group of twenty team members were divided into three shifts, mainly to maintain the submarine's daily operations and logistical support.
Two days later, their team had only reached a depth of 20 meters. The good news was that their exploration had not encountered any accidents, but the bad news was that there had been no progress so far, and the underwater photography work was not going smoothly.
Even with underwater lighting, many of the photos still turned out blurry and were not very visually appealing.
After resting for a while, Xia Qing and the male captain discussed and decided to dive the submarine to a depth of forty meters, and then send out team members to explore the situation between forty meters below and fifty meters above.
If the exploration makes no progress, they must return to the surface to report the situation and wait for further orders from their superiors.
Li Ke and his team were the second group to go out this time. Because the distance was relatively deep, the male captain let another group of all-male team members go into the water first. Only after the situation went smoothly were Xia Qing and his team sent out.
At this depth, they were all wearing safety ropes. Initially, everything went smoothly, just like the previous dives, except that visibility was noticeably worse at this depth.
Their headlamps here can only illuminate a small area about the size of their palm in front of them, and they have to be close to the cave wall to get any light; otherwise, the light is practically useless.
Li Ke's hands groped along the cave wall. Besides her headlamp, she also held an underwater flashlight. The underwater work of the past two days made her feel that this mission might be fruitless.
Just then, she stopped moving. Although there was no sound underwater, she seemed to hear a whooshing sound for some reason.
A sense of spatial awareness surged within Li Ke's chest. Li Ke remained motionless: "What does this mean? There's also solar energy here?"
The communication between the spatial consciousness and Li Ke was not very smooth; it was still not easy for it to convey its meaning to Li Ke.
After sensing for a while, Li Ke finally understood what it meant. There was no solar energy mine here, but it had a premonition that this place would bring it a surprise. And right now, the only thing Li Ke could think of that could bring it a surprise was a solar energy mine.
Li Ke asked the consciousness again if it could hear the whistling sound. The consciousness twitched twice, but it did not give a meaningful answer.
Li Ke's heart started beating faster on its own. Regardless of whether her conscious premonition was good or bad, she didn't feel good. She tugged at her safety rope, and after confirming that there were no problems, she decided to end the mission early.
Next to her was Chen Nanxing. Li Ke approached her and patted her on the shoulder three times, indicating that it was time to end the mission and return to the team.
