The man chickened out: "I didn't. I just wanted to date her, but she didn't agree. Officer, I didn't mean to hit her."
"What? It's wrong not to date you? Let me tell you, if you keep causing trouble like this, you won't be able to find a wife! Come with us to the station and honestly confess your crimes!"
The police arrested the man on a simple and brutal basis: they suspected he was a repeat offender.
The man was unable to defend himself and was taken away by the police.
"Thank you, Li Ying."
"You're welcome."
Li Ying turned around, realized that the girl had called her name directly, stopped and turned back to look at her carefully.
The girl smiled shyly: "I share an office with you. I'm Dr. Lu's apprentice. My name is Tian Li."
Li Ying remembered; she sat in the seat at the very edge of the office.
Li Ying nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait a minute." Tian Li approached Li Ying and whispered, "You'd better stay away from that Academician Cao."
Tian Liyan said thank you again, then turned and ran quickly.
Li Ying frowned slightly. This girl was risking her life to tell her to stay away from Academician Cao. It seemed that Academician Cao was a bit eccentric.
As Li Ying pondered, Ye Jingchi's bicycle pulled up in front of her.
Am I late?
Ye Jingchi had beads of sweat on his forehead; he must have forgotten the time.
Li Ying smiled faintly: "Perfect."
Once in the car, Li Ying asked, "Ye Jingchi, how about you give me this car?"
She couldn't always trouble Ye Jingchi to pick her up; she was perfectly fine and could easily commute to and from get off work by bicycle.
Ye Jingchi suddenly braked, startling Li Ying.
