Chapter 269 The Difference Between Good and Bad People

Li Ying was very angry. No matter who it was, as long as they admitted their mistake, they should take full responsibility.

This incident had a significant impact, was widely publicized in newspapers, led to Teacher Song's suspension, and caused Yan Liuli to face some cold shoulders because she was implicated.

Feeling wronged, Yan Liuli cried her heart out in front of her parents, her words filled with resentment towards Song Weidong and Li Ying's meddling.

"Shut up." Ah Feng was furious. He weakly raised his hand and pointed at Yan Liuli: "Tell me, does this have anything to do with you?"

"No, Mom, why are you like those people and don't believe me? I've already told you, I don't know Song Weidong at all. He's the one who likes me and keeps bothering me, but I've ignored him and never done that." Yan Liuli lied without batting an eye.

Yan Kuo pondered for a long time before advising, "Ah Feng, Liu Li is someone we raised ourselves; she wouldn't lie."

Ah Feng stared into Yan Liuli's eyes and saw that her eyes were evasive. He knew that his daughter was lying because Li Ying had mentioned Yan Liuli and Song Weidong before, and also talked about Leng Ci. Now Yan Liuli said that she didn't like Song Weidong and that she was with someone else. Wasn't that person Leng Ci?

"Is the boy you mentioned who's close to you named Leng Ci?" Afeng pressed.

Yan Liuli was surprised that her mother had guessed it, and shook her head fiercely: "No, it wasn't him."

Ah Feng suddenly started coughing, almost coughing up blood.

Yan Kuo immediately helped his wife up.

"Don't get agitated. It's best for us parents to stay out of the kids' business."

His doting on Yan Liuli had reached an outrageous level.

Ah Feng shoved Yan Kuo aside, furious: "It's all your fault for spoiling her like this! Look at her, what kind of person is she? How old is she, and she's already dating? Is she trying to drive me crazy? Cough cough..."

"Isn't that something I learned from you?" Yan Liuli muttered.

Ah Feng was so angry that his face turned pale.

Yan Kuo glared at his daughter: "Say less!"

Yan Liuli then shut up.

Ah Feng's emotions had calmed down a bit, but she was still weak all over. Yan Kuo helped her lie down and gestured for Yan Liuli to leave.

After calming his wife down, Yan Kuo went out and pulled Yan Liuli to the front hall to talk.

"Tell your father the truth, are you with that Leng Ci now?"

Yan Liuli pouted: "How could I be with someone like that? I only agreed to be his girlfriend because I wanted her to be my witness. Dad, I had no choice."

After hearing this, Yan Kuo guessed: "You were involved in kidnapping Li Ying's child too?"

Yan Liuli was furious at Song Weidong's stupidity: "Dad, I didn't let Song Weidong kidnap the child. I just wanted him to teach Li Ying a lesson. Who knew this guy would be so stupid as to kidnap the child? He's so incredibly stupid!"

Yan Kuo raised his hand and slapped Yan Liuli hard, causing her to cover her face and sob softly.

"You, you are utterly, incredibly stupid!"

Yan Kuo waved his hand dismissively. If this matter were to be found to be related to Yan Liuli, he would lose his position as president of the Imperial Capital Chamber of Commerce.

"Dad, I was wrong, I was wrong." Yan Liuli sobbed.

Yan Kuo waved his hand: "Remember, no matter who asks, just insist that you don't know Song Weidong."

Yan Liuli nodded.

Li Ying's clinic is too large, and she wants to expand it by taking over the courtyard behind the clinic, opening it up, and adding a few beds in the backyard.

That was the original plan, but it was delayed due to recent events. Chi En found some workers and came to Li Ying in the morning to tell her. Only then did Li Ying remember this matter and asked Chi En to proceed according to the original plan. It just so happened that the clinic was closed during this period, so she could spend time with her son.

Aunt Yang is still in the hospital. Because she was helping Li Ying take care of her child who had fallen and injured himself, Li Ying felt bad and brought Chenchen to take care of Aunt Yang.

Aunt Yang's son and daughter-in-law are both very easy to talk to; they are not the kind of people who cause trouble.

“You’re busy with the kids, so you don’t need to come over every day. I’m free anyway, so I’ll take care of Mom.” The speaker was Zijuan, Aunt Yang’s youngest daughter-in-law.

"I'm really sorry about this." Li Ying knew that anything she said would sound insincere.

"How can you blame yourself? Blame those bad people who kidnapped the children, they're so despicable." Zijuan was in her early thirties, very beautiful, and spoke gently. She always smiled before speaking to people. This was the kind of woman who had no children.

Yang Xiaoliu came in from outside and bought breakfast for his wife.

"You haven't eaten yet? Look at me, I was so focused on myself and the kids that I forgot to bring you food." Li Ying felt very guilty. Usually, Aunt Yang took care of their lives, and now that Aunt Yang was gone, Li Ying had been eating breakfast with her son and hadn't even thought to bring them breakfast.

"It's okay, there are food vendors near the hospital. We can buy some here and have something hot to eat," Zijuan said, handing a steamed bun to Chenchen.

Chenchen accepted it without hesitation and said thank you.

Zijuan touched Chenchen's cheek: "This child is so good. I thought you city people didn't eat other people's food."

Zijuan's cousin's child refused to eat what they offered, saying that country people's hands were unclean, that they ate without washing their hands, and that they didn't care about hygiene at all.

Li Ying's son didn't mind at all, which Zijuan appreciated.

There's no point in having too many people here, so Yang Xiaoliu told Zijuan to go back and rest, while he would stay and keep watch.

Zijuan then followed Li Ying back to the courtyard house.

Li Ying arranged for her to sleep in the guest room and specially made dumplings for lunch.

Chenchen ran over and called Zijuan to eat, and Zijuan pulled Chenchen to the front to eat.

After finishing her meal, Zijuan went to change Yang Xiaoliu's clothes and brought him some dumplings.

When Yang Xiaoliu returned for dinner, he took the initiative to find Li Ying.

"I heard from my mother that you are a very good doctor?" Yang Xiaoliu said, lowering his head, his face turning red with embarrassment.

"Those are all just empty titles bestowed upon me by everyone," Li Ying said modestly.

Yang Xiaoliu clutched the hem of her clothes: "I... I want to ask you about me and Zijuan. We've been married for over ten years and still don't have children. We've tried a lot of medicine and seen many doctors, but we just can't get pregnant."

Li Ying could tell from his expression that he was talking about the child.

"What did you do before?" Li Ying asked.

Yang Xiaoliu was taken aback: "I used to work as a boiler operator in a steel plant."

Li Ying nodded: "It should be somewhat related to this."

“But everyone else in our steel plant has children.” Yang Xiaoliu didn’t understand.

Li Ying explained, "It depends on your constitution. Your constitution is different from others. You should go to the hospital for a checkup."

"Me?" Yang Xiaoliu hesitated. Men all care about their reputation. If this got out, he was afraid he would be very embarrassed.

“Isn’t it normal to get treatment when you’re sick? You said yourself that you’ve seen many doctors and taken a lot of medicine, but all those medicines were taken by Zijuan. The fact that you haven’t been able to conceive after all these years must be your problem,” Li Ying said bluntly.

Yang Xiaoliu pondered for a moment, then nodded: "Okay, I'll go to the hospital for a checkup."
