Qin Zhen, lying on the bed, stared at Hua Mi in astonishment.
As Hua Mi got up to leave, she suddenly spoke.
"Ami, you are much more mature than I imagined, much, much more mature."
Previously, Qin Zhen thought that Hua Mi was impulsive and was just messing around. Many people thought so too, believing that Hua Mi was exceptionally gifted and therefore not mature.
But she was different; in fact, she entered a state of war preparedness much faster than anyone else.
Even Qin Zhen hadn't really thought about what would happen a few years from now. She was just glad to be alive. Who would have thought that if she survived, she might be attacked because she was backward?
Hua Mi said, "If you fall behind, you will be beaten!"
In fact, Hua Mi's words were very harsh, showing Qin Zhen no mercy whatsoever.
But Qin Zhen didn't mind at all. On the contrary, she was very grateful to Hua Mi for telling her all this.
This made Qin Zhen feel that she had to become stronger as soon as possible, both physically and mentally.
Because no one will pity her just because she was born prematurely, neither Hua Mi nor this extremely cruel world.
Watching Hua Mi's departing figure, Qin Zhen closed his eyes, his expression gradually hardening.
When Hua Mi stepped out of Qin Zhen's RV, Ma Yongchun was still lingering outside.
He paced back and forth while making a phone call, yelling into the other end of the line.
Because his voice was so loud, Hua Mi was forced to listen to it. It seemed that Ma Zhixuan knew he had done something wrong and had run away to hide somewhere.
Ma Yongchun asked Ma Zhixuan to apologize to Qin Zhen, but Ma Zhixuan didn't dare to come.
Tch, coward!
Hua Mi's contempt for Ma Zhixuan grew stronger. This man lacked even the most basic sense of responsibility. If he were to apologize to Qin Zhen, Qin Zhen would likely become angry again.
Hua Mi was quietly passing by Ma Yongchun when she suddenly heard him shout out loud while holding his phone.
“Ma Zhixuan, what are you still doing messing around with Qin Xiaolan’s mother? Get back here right now.”
Ma Zhixuan disagreed; he pleaded on the other end of the phone.
"Brother, if I go back now, my sister-in-law will definitely scold me to death. She's been looking down on me for a long time. I'll come back when she's calmed down a bit."
He knew he had made a mistake, and Ma Zhixuan admitted it, but everyone knew that if he stood in front of Qin Zhen at this moment, he would be scolded by Qin Zhen.
So as soon as Qin Zhen was taken to the emergency room, he ran away, but he didn't dare to go far, fearing danger outside the city. After thinking it over, Ma Zhixuan went to find Qin's mother.
At this point, Qin's mother was the only place he could go.
After abruptly hanging up on his brother, Ma Zhixuan sat in the tent, looking utterly dejected.
If he had been able to refrain from retaliating by pushing Qin Zhen back then, wouldn't things have turned out differently?
“Zhixuan, Zhixuan.”
Qin's mother's voice rang out, and then she led a man into the tent.
“I found an acquaintance who was Ziran and Huami’s college classmate.”
During this time, Qin's mother had been thinking about the source of Hua Mi's supplies.
She discussed it with Ma Zhixuan, and Ma Zhixuan tried to get his brother Ma Yongchun to put pressure on Gong Yi.
Therefore, Ma Zhixuan was assigned to take charge of receiving supplies in City C.
Qin's mother happened to contact one of Qin Ziran's college roommates, named An Xiaoyu.
In this extreme weather, one disaster after another struck, and the survivors gradually began to form groups and stick together to survive.
People who knew each other pitched their tents together, forming small communities.
It was easy for Qin's mother to find An Xiaoyu, as she already knew some of Qin Ziran's college classmates.
He said the last time he saw Qin Ziran was with Hua Mi.
Qin's mother turned and glanced at An Xiaoyu, and said,
“If you have anything to say, talk to Zhixuan. He’s Xiaolan’s boyfriend and the younger brother of the C City management commander. He’ll definitely help us.”
An Xiaoyu and Qin's mother sat down opposite Ma Zhixuan and said,
“We have gathered a group of people here, all of whom are our university classmates and related relatives, totaling more than 1,000 people. We are now preparing a development plan.”
He described how, although people in Xiangcheng now have enough to eat and drink, their lives are very difficult.
Specifically, their living conditions are terrible; they have to live in tents all day long.
However, Xiangcheng no longer has a management team. The garrison is busy with this and that all day long, and has no time or energy to improve the happiness index of the survivors.
"So it's better to rely on ourselves than on others, and we thought we should band together to save ourselves."
As An Xiaoyu spoke, he added with a pale face,
“Let’s establish a survivor community of our own, both inside and outside Xiangcheng.”
He was the main person in charge of the project, as their numbers grew. It started with just a few college classmates who set up tents together.
Later, it was the parents and relatives of my college classmates, and then the relatives and friends of my parents and relatives.
This is an inevitable trend in the development of the times. In such times, the emergence of teams can enable all of them to survive better.
There's another point that An Xiaoyu didn't mention: anyone who has witnessed Hua Mi committing murder would be terrified.
He thought about it and realized he didn't want to stay in Xiangcheng anymore, nor did he want to be under the same sky as Hua Mi.
But where can he go in this freezing weather?
The team of over 1,000 people gave An Xiaoyu a strong sense of security. He desperately needed to grow his team and use that growth to protect himself.
Qin's mother looked at Ma Zhixuan encouragingly and said to An Xiaoyu,
