Cao Feng wouldn't be that stupid.
With Cao Feng's assurance, Hua Mi was finally relieved.
She looked at the bustling construction work on the western city wall, wondering how many of the people working there were Chen Hu and Qu Shiheng's men.
According to the information received by Chi Chuan, people enter the Xiangcheng base every day to obtain [Energy Drops], and then take them out of the city in batches.
The whereabouts of these [energy droplets] are completely unknown.
In this emergency, they knew perfectly well that City E had ulterior motives towards the Xiangcheng base.
Even though she knew Chen Hu wanted her dead, Hua Mi could do nothing about it.
She felt a surge of resentment, raised her hand to stroke her large belly, and turned to Chi Chuan, saying...
"Spread the word that the Xiangcheng base will no longer produce [Energy Droplets] in large quantities before I am born."
If even with all this, someone is still smuggling [Energy Drops] out of the Xiangcheng base to E City, then it can only prove that Xiangcheng indeed has a lot of [Energy Drops].
The people of Xiangcheng no longer cherish it.
"In addition, I come to the west side every day to inspect the progress of the project and resolve all the problems that can be resolved."
Next, Hua Mi once again instructed the contractor to lay several more layers of electric fence and to make the city wall even more solid.
Time was of the essence. Not long after Hua Mi finished speaking, a garrison came to report that a small group of zombies had wiped out the enemy in the west.
Cao Feng waved his hand and led the western garrison, rushing towards the power grid.
Gunshots rang out, and Hua Mi stood there listening, her face grim.
She turned her head and said to Qin Zhen.
"Be prepared, this wave of zombies won't be so easy to wipe out today."
Hearing the continuous gunfire, Hua Mi knew that there was a big problem.
Cao Feng is now completely trapped in Xiangcheng West. All that's left is for the superhumans and ordinary survivors to work hard on their own.
She turned around, upgraded her factory, and leveled up her garbage recycling station.
I bought dozens of robot vacuum cleaners.
Hua Mi placed all of these robot vacuum cleaners on the west side of Xiangcheng.
These robotic vacuum cleaners will enter the zombie horde, automatically clean up the zombie corpses, and collect the crystal cores.
Those crystal cores will be placed into Hua Mi's storage by the robot.
Instead, it will not be used directly.
Just as Hua Mi had predicted, Cao Feng was ensnared by the zombies to the west, and he led his team in a killing spree that lasted until nightfall.
By midnight, the number of zombies coming from the west not only did not decrease, but actually increased as they were killed.
One layer of the electric fence was destroyed, but the foreman directed the workers to install ten more layers behind the last one.
The factory manager also sent truckloads of jelly lime mixed with "Energy Water Drops" to the west side.
The generator was clanging and banging, but there was enough electricity in Xiangcheng.
Hua Mi returned to the rescue center and had just lain down when she heard a noise outside the door.
Tu Lijia, the nurse who was specifically assigned to take care of Hua Mi, thought that the nurse had come to check on her.
She got up to open the door.
Hua Mi called out to Tu Lijia, "Wait a minute."
No sooner had he finished speaking than the door to the ward was kicked open.
The man outside the door was holding two guns and fired several shots into the room.
Just as the person outside opened fire, Hua Mi had already arrived at Tu Lijia's side, pulled Tu Lijia's body aside, and dodged the bullet.
The assassin outside the door lowered his gun and looked at the empty bed. He was about to look for Hua Miren.
The door in front of them was slammed shut.
Hua Miren had somehow ended up behind the assassin.
She, heavily pregnant, patted the assassin on the shoulder. The assassin turned his head and saw a flash of light before his eyes. Hua Mi, holding a knife, slit the assassin's throat with a single stroke.
Her movements were swift and decisive, not at all like a pregnant woman about to give birth.
The tightly closed hospital room door opened, and Tu Lijia stood inside, looking completely bewildered, and asked:
"Ami, what happened?"
Before he could finish speaking, a bloody gash appeared on the neck of the assassin who was still standing in front of him.
Scalding blood gushed out from the crevice and landed on Tu Lijia's face.
Tu Lijia's eyes widened, and she fell backward.
Hua Mi pushed away the assassin who was still standing in front of her, reached out and grabbed Tu Lijia's hand to prevent Tu Lijia from breaking the back of her head.
At this moment, Xin Qiuru ran over with a group of nurses.
Seeing the scene in such a mess, she asked anxiously,
"Ami, Ami, are you alright?"
Hua Mi waved her hand, indicating that she was fine.
This morning, she deliberately spread the word that the [Energy Drops] at the Xiangcheng base were facing a shortage crisis.
Everyone knows that the supply of "Energy Water Drops" in Xiangcheng is not as plentiful as it used to be.
Those who transported the [Energy Droplets] out of the Xiangcheng base naturally had to consider whether to prioritize E City's needs or their own.
If we want to replenish the [Energy Drops] in Xiangcheng Base, we definitely need to take down Hua Mi first.
If Hua Mi isn't defeated, the [Energy Drop] will be stuck.
No matter the reason, Hua Mi is going to die.
Xin Qiuru looked at Hua Mi's large pregnant belly with a worried expression and asked,
"Should we change your room?"
She couldn't understand why Hua Mi would release such a statement to the public.
This means that Hua Mi has made herself a sitting duck; anyone lurking in Xiangcheng who wants to obtain the [Energy Drop] wants to kill her.
