Only Qin Zhen and Hua Mi knew that Gong Yi actually only held the title of garrison commander at the Xiangcheng base.
In reality, the one in charge at the Xiangcheng base is not Gong Yi, but Hua Mi.
Those centered around Hua Mi, such as Qin Zhen, formed an informal management class.
On the surface, the Xiangcheng base has no management level.
However, in Xiangcheng, Hua Mi has the final say in everything.
She and her people constitute an informal management structure.
If other cities want to find the Xiangcheng base and have any problems with the transportation of supplies, they can only contact Qin Zhen or Afu's family.
Alternatively, contacting Ikegawa would be more useful than contacting Miyazaki.
In this regard, the outside world would generally assume that Qin Zhen was in charge of personnel management at the Xiangcheng base.
If the goal is to help receive survivors from the Xiangcheng base, the person you should contact is Qin Zhen.
If you want to discuss purchasing supplies, you should go to Afu's family.
But for some reason, E City didn't contact Qin Zhen directly; instead, they insisted on finding Gong Yi.
Hua Mi thought for a moment, then gave Qin Zhen a cold laugh and said,
"The reason they came to E City is because they think the Xiangcheng base is about to go out of business, so they're trying to win over Gong Yi."
Gong Yi is a master at defending the city.
Under Gong Yi's leadership, the thousands of garrison troops stationed in Xiangcheng have undergone more than half a year of training and hard work, and they are now capable of scaling walls and leaping across rooftops.
Every garrison is a fighter jet that kills zombies.
Think about it, if City E could get Gong Yi's help, it would be much better than equipping its own base with countless high-tech weapons.
Qin Zhen was so angry after hearing Hua Mi's words that he punched the wall.
"How can these people be so shameless? Do they really think Xiangcheng will be swallowed up by the zombie horde as they wish?"
Xiangcheng is doomed.
Xiangcheng is doomed.
The idea that Xiangcheng is doomed has been around for a long time.
But Xiangcheng has always existed and has never been destroyed by the zombie horde.
Not only that.
The erection of city walls on the south and east sides greatly freed up the garrison and defense forces at the Xiangcheng base.
The garrison and survivors of the Xiangcheng base are now gathered in the west.
Experts had previously said that the Xiangcheng base would soon be completely surrounded by zombies, within just a few days.
However, even after saying this for more than half a month, the Xiangcheng base remained perfectly fine.
The zombies to the west have also been kept under control.
Hua Mi didn't speak. She took out her phone, thought for a moment, and then called Chi Chuan.
Have Ikegawa check if there are any people from the E City base currently at the Xiangcheng base.
This investigation actually revealed that Qu Yimin from the E City base was causing trouble in the Xiangcheng quarantine zone.
On the other end of the phone, Chi Chuan said to Hua Mi with great distress:
"This Qu Yimin kept saying that she was going to the north of the Xiangcheng base and that she was representing the management of the E City base, and that we at the Xiangcheng base should cooperate with her."
"It's so annoying."
Hua Mi frowned slightly, got out of bed, and, while enduring the intense contractions, said to Qin Zhen,
"Let's go take a look at the quarantine area."
Qin Zhen looked at Hua Mi disapprovingly, but Hua Mi had already opened the door to the ward and walked out of the emergency center.
Afu drove her to the quarantine area.
Inside the quarantine area, Qu Yimin was venting her anger on the medical staff.
She pointed at the medical staff and said:
"I've already said I was sent from the E City base, I'm the eldest daughter of the Qu family, why are you feeding me this kind of food?"
She looked very aggrieved.
Not only was the food in E City base poor, but the Xiangcheng base had ample supplies, and the meals assigned to Qu Yimin were the same as those of the other survivors.
Please, she's the eldest daughter of the Qu family, how can we feed her these things?
The medical staff on duty in the isolation area, wearing protective suits, stared at Qu Yimin, this young lady, with obvious impatience.
Someone pointed directly at her and said,
"Everyone eats like this. What's the difference between you, a survivor from E City, and other survivors who came back from outside?"
"Everyone is in the same boat, so why can't we eat the food in the quarantine area?"
It's not that these medical staff are exaggerating; in any city that is still surviving, which city has food as good as the Xiangcheng base?
Look at what they've provided for these survivors in their quarantine area: oatmeal porridge, fried dough sticks, cured meat, steamed buns, chocolate cake, and milk.
There's so much food in just one meal.
Three meals a day, each different.
Since the quarantine zone was built, only Qu Yimin has had any objections to these things. Other survivors would not be so picky.
Qu Yimin slammed the pile of food in her hand onto the ground, causing the milk to burst and spill milk everywhere.
Qu Yimin flew into a rage.
"I told you I wouldn't eat these things. Look at the production dates on these; they're almost expired. I want fresh ones, very fresh ones!"
"Didn't you understand? Can't you understand human language?"
Qin Zhen stood behind a group of medical staff, her face full of anger. She lowered her voice and said to Hua Mi,
"What kind of bizarre family could raise something like this? What time is it now? And they're still talking about expiration dates?"
Hua Mi also sneered and raised her voice to Qu Yimin.
“If you have complaints about the food in our quarantine area, then don’t come to our Xiangcheng base. You’re not welcome here.”
